DO YOU SEE FRIDAY"S OR DO YOU SEE EVERYTHING. the sad thing is you do have some insight on some of the things hurting this team right now, and thats realated to the effort and lack of preparation given in practice Mon thru Thur. what's the old saying: games are played on Fridays and won Mon. - Thur. you do however need to apoligize to #14 because he is the ONE PERSON WHO COMES READY EVERYDAY NEVER SAY'S A WORD UNLESS ITS A QUESTION TO MAKE HIM BETTER,IS SERIOUS ABOUT WHY HE IS OUT THERE, AND HAS YET TO GIVE UP. OH AND HE IS A GREAT STUDENT TO, JUST AN EDUCATED GUESS, BUT THERE MUST BE SOME RELATION THERE. This is just an insight from someone who KNOWS!!!! hello everyone your favorite coach you love to hate here. for the record i have never and will never coach or tell my players to hurt other players. i plainly tell them to play hard and hit hard. bottom line be physical. as for this weeks match up you guys are bigger. stronger. and faster!!!!! the way you all put up points i dont see how we can keep up. all those formations you have power I one play empty backfield the next makes for hard defensive practice. you never know who is going to get the ball. that defense WOW!!!!! a wall for a line LBS flying around like wasp, and a secondary that is like a lightning bolt to the ball. i just hope we can keep it interesting. i mean noone is giving us a chance. then i guess you have to earn that right and we have sure not earned anything. we are just a young coaching staff thats still trying to figure all this football stuff out. i have just one request. if the earth was to stop turning, the light in the moon burns out, the good LORD above happens to take a nap instead of looking over the promised land of carter county and we win. please waste no time giving all the excuses for why we won. my excuse has already been made by you all (your better than us). not sure who you are. I dont have a bone to pick other than the fact that the TEAM is not making excuses we lost and we know it. its thoughtless comments like that that get things started so please do not refer to the team as making excuses. officiating was awful. Coach Oaks came to see me later on that night to talk about it, hoping that it would not affect our relationship. officiating aside we should have won had many opportunities early to do so, but did not, then late in the game we cont. to give up the ball as if it was halloween and jellico was trick or treating. cant win doing that. so there you have it. well here we go again. we cant talk football for bad mouthing players who are just kids who play hard, or hit hard, and know nothing about what life really is. then we have to compare schools PAST successes because we cant find our way to the future. who gives a crap about what your team did 10 years ago that was then this is now. new coaches new players new schemes everythings new. as for the cloudland game they WON not us THEM. would i like to play again you bet but i have to wait till next year. i will tell you this not many teams can win turning the ball over 8 + times a game we proved that last year against midway. we gave cloudland the ball 3 times inside our 30 yard line which = 21 pionts. as for how we got film. it was plainly stated last year at the coaches meeting that rone county didn't like trading film because of having to drive to far. so we use other sourses. i would have been more than happy to give cloudland film, but never got a phone call. as for jellico. coach oaks is a great friend and i think alot of him. enough to were me and my coaches played in his golf tournament leaving a good sum of money there for thier program. i also know he has a very improved football team that will give us a challenge friday night. and this i know for a fact win or lose me and him will shake hands and wish each other luck and MEAN IT unlike a few times a coach has shaked my hand. jellico i wish you the best of luck this week along with a prayer of safe travel. well enjoy this blog the reat of the week while you all make fun of people, coaches, and teams so your ego can grow, your inmaturity can show. plese dont think i get on here trying to sound all high and mighty cause thats not me. i just give my personal take on things, and i find everything said on here very amusing. shelton

Well here we go my first post in a long time. we will be going without our our number one qb dunn this week. instead we have number one qb cates who as started last two games. saying friday night will be a batle is an understatment. it is a must win for both teams and a fight it will be. i am sorry for the lack of post from the cosby fathful. but then again i am not to sure just how faithful we are. does the term fair weather fan make any sense to anyone. the main thing is that the FAMILY is strong and hungry for a win. pujo take care. i would like to ask a favor from you though. you think you could get that brother of yours to not dress some of those kids you all got when we come up there? lol sound like you guys have got a solid team once again. i cant wait to come up there and see if we got anything for you all. good luck to region 1 this friday GODS SPEED and injury free. hey kirchunaka how have you been. i hated to see your post about coach keith. tuesday when we had our regional coaches meeting it did not seem he was finished. then again you never know do ya. i appriciate the comment. i have not posted in what seems like forever. it seems like all the we ever get on here is trash talk. i try to get on here to praise my players as well as others. i do however get on here on the defensive side of thinds on occation. nftc i would find it interesting to know more about you and your wonderful knowlege as to how a coach should conduct himself. where does your wealth of knowlege come from. how do you like living in cosby. i can assure you this to your tax dollars. they are being well spent at wal-mart more than likley by the ones taking it. they are definatly not showing up in any teachers pay checks. my check is cashed in everytime one of my players comes to the sideline and hugs me, another coach or teammate followed by the sound of i love you man coming from his heart. oh by the way what are you doing posting and playing on the net while at work. just curious why its ok for you but no one else. i am coach shelton the inmature head coach of bunch. 38 years is the average age of the staff. good thing coach stiles factors in the equation. with 71 years of coaching experiance combined. hope you get to see the game friday. coach shelton

well lets see, thanks for the support hhsbulldog44. hey this comes with the job. nobody is ever happy. heck i am never happy. you have these CONCERNED parents, fans, and players all the time. funny thing is i dont get the opportunity to get on here and tell them how to administer shots to patients, run there businesses, mow their yards, ect. even more important I DONT CARE!!!!! it doesn't state anywhere in my massive contract that i have to listen either. the funny thing is they dont know what is said in my office with my staff when we watch the tape and evaluate the players. but for some reason they must have our team meetings mic or a mole because in one post they used a phrase i used myself this week. now thats funny. maybe i need to take time out of my busy schedual to have film session with the parents, and fans so i can praise there kids one play and embarrass them on the next play. better yet just let them break down the film and script the offense and defense so me and the coaches can go play golf on the weekends we would love that. hey another idea would be to give out the playbook for the game that night so they can know what we are running and what every players assignments are. like i said all part of the job that is why i get 50 cents an hour and my assistants just get 40 cents. man i think this has been my favorite post yet. shelton

townsend and family. i pray that you will recover soon and are able to cont. to do what you do so well in the future. this thread is for you and you alone. we had articles of preseason previews, all the teams game articles, and stats. heck we even had the pic of you and jc ( i love that man but hes is not photogenic LOL) form the front page of the elizabethton star. we had pictures of you in every locker, and a few of your teammate lyons. with those pic we had the words "take him out" not in referance to hurt you but to take you out of your game. and the words "play maker" with lyons cause thats what he does. moday when we watched film i MADE the commint we needed to TAKE YOU OUT of your GAME not to hurt you. i guess someone saw that and assumed we were out to hurt you. i think you can understand this strategy to motivate players. you all did something like it with unaka. i want you and your family to know that was not the case. i really dont care what anyone else thinks. i am NOT that kind of coach. i want to win but not at the expense of a player and his future. i was glad that the ref allowed me to come out when you went down. i knew you were hurt when you took the hit and was surprised to see you get up. that shows your toughness. you got twisted up pretty good. to be honest i thought you torn you knee to shreds. i was glad to hear it was a possible break. those can heal with you not loseing to much if any of your ability. i have the upmost RESPECT for you, your teammates, and coaches. thats why we had those pic up. i get so tried of fans ( mine included) running young kids and teams down. i will say this the players that post on here make more sense and show more respect than anyone else on here. we as adults could learn alot from you guys. you are the ones who know what goes on on the field of battle, and the competion you face. i can only pray that some day this web site will began to show more respect to what its about, and thats young men going to war with each other do do battle with another team. hampton congradulation on back to back championships. i hope we get one someday. you played hard and made more plays than we did. good luck through out the rest of your season, and playoffs. it was nise to meet you a well. that game was a battle. that how we started the season. i told the team we were going to war and that every week there was a new battle to prepare for. we were in a fight in this one. you got something good going just need to fine toon a few things. we have some tooning to do as well. hey honesty is were its at. i am honest with my teeam and there are alot of time they hate me for it. trust me be dust will settle. and if it dont they dont have an open mind. take care hope you get better i have been the same way for about 2 weeks now and the ice bath did not help. but hey 7-0 for the first time in school history ill take a runny nose. as in the other thread i will make this my first and only post. as for why there are not many post being made by the cosby faithful. i would say there tired of the same old stuff being said. with that we could care less about the rankins and the polls and hamptons stats vs. ours. they only factor in stats not heart and determination. so take the polls and who has beat who and place your bets. one team will win and one will lose. we will do everything we can to win. we will see what happens. have a great week and safe travel!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is sleepless in cosby shelton

well this will be my frst and only post. as for ranking we dont give a flip about what any poll says. number one reason for that they dont factor in heart and sure determination. anyone can win or lose, so put your polls in a jar and dig a hole. as for jody lowe he is the real deal just as is townsend. but for your info he is a reciever not a tailback. yes we have used him some back there but not much. unaka did a great job in their secondary to kill our passing game. players have off nights and then someone has to pick up the slack. thats one of our strengths. as for whats this thread is about it should be a dandy. hampton has a great team, but i also think we do as well. keep making your predictionds on sats and how who played who, but you might want to factor in the two other factors as well. have a great week and safe travel to all!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is sleepless in cosby shelton

look you all have a great team and i agree with old eagle 24 in his 2 post. i also ask the same question why did you not use your running game against hampton that you did us. i just dont understand that. what upsets me is that your team played there hearts out as did ours, and yet you cant say that we just beat you in a game that could have went either way. you want to blame the refs or some other lame excuse. you have to learn to overcome penalties or you will never be successful. as for the personal foul you said was called on carp. your wrong carp great clean hit. number 34 who got over cosby's number 13 while he was down hurt talking trash that was low class and thats what got your flag. then we hit one of your guys late out of bound on one of our punt returns up the sideline. flag came out and you got a 15 yard penalty in your favor. so blame who you want bottom line we won you lost. unaka players and coaches great game. played your hearts out now heal the wounds, get hungry and make the playoffs shelton

look ladies and gentlemen i can asure you that the players, staff, and myself have the upmost respect for cloudland, unaka, and hampton. we know what you all are about when it comes to your teams. all 3 teams have produced many a bragging rights more than we here and cosby could ever dreamed and alot of those bragging right come at our defeat. i have the upmost respect for your coaches. i have heard great things of coach ensor and his strong disipline and christian character. coach kieth is a great coach, lunsford has done great things and i admire him for it. then there is JC CAMPBELL i think there are fossils younger than he is. he and i go way back to 1993 and he is a great guy to be around even though he cuses me like crazy. i have been apart of this program for 13 years as a player, fan and coach. we have had 4 winning seasons in 15 years. like your kids that go out every day and beat on each other, play hurt, bleed and sweet then come friday and win its exciting no matter who you beat. with that we are going to be excited about what we are acomplishing and the history we are making this year with the football program. we have not experianced what some of you have grown acustomed too. you have the kids coming out to play and feeder programs that have been bringing up talent for years. we have not till now. we have had to fight the basketball program for years, unaka you may be able to relate to that, its hard to watch good athletes walk away from you because they think they are the next best thing to hit the court. we are now getting some of those kids and its made the program better. our fans do get hott when we are disrepected just like each of you do when its directed at you. this community loves their kids and praise there accomplishments. they want their kids to be recognized just like you do. we know our schedule it not what you consider hard. easy for you is not necessarily easy for us when those teams beat you in the past. as for our state ranking i have went on record both in the newspapers and radio down playing our ranking. we did not even know we were ranked till the weekly radio show here told us. are we proud of it yes its good to be recognized. does it mean we are the team to beat no but its out of our control. dont think we dont know the work we have ahead of us, but with that we will work to bring our best game week end week out. and like some of you have said let the cards fall where they may. i wish everyone the best of luck and safty as you travel and play. thank you to everyone who reads this with an open mind. shelton

Homecoming crap i dont think i can handle another one LOL!!! as for the ranking i dont like it i would much rather be the underdog its alot easier to motivete that way.
