I sure do miss this District having plenty of people talking about it...

I stayed away from this topic until I could think straight, so I know this is a little late, but WOW, what a swing and a miss by TSSAA to not give Miss Basketball to Rachel Bell. How many players do you think have scored over 2500 points in their HS career and didn't win the Miss Basketball Award at least once??? What a huge joke. I am not trying to take anything away from the Cannon Co. girl, but it was not even close. Once the district tourney started, Rachel had one game that she didnt score over 30 points in, and it was the game they lost in the state tourney where she scored 25. I think I was told that the media chooses Miss Basketball, is this correct????

Couldnt agree more. Baseball gets a month to coach their players (in the middle of winter) before their first game. How long does fb get????????

Im gonna assume the "blaming the losses on the coaching" talk about MC is pretty much over now...

There was another Central regular as he called it saying it must be the coaches as well, and even the fan you are speaking of was asking how could anyone not blame it on the coaching. Bottom line, in high school sports you have to be lucky in order to be a good team. Coaches can only do so much. By lucky, I mean you hope the Jr. Pro and middle schools that feed to your school have good programs and develop players to where when they come to h.s. all they need to do is learn the playbook and get bigger/faster/stronger. But let's face it, getting a stud athlete to go to your school is all about where they are zoned (unless your school is a private school). It's a lottery pick. There is a such thing as having a bad talent year in h.s. My junior year in baseball we had 4 seniors get scholarships to play baseball, my senior year we had 0. We even all played for the same coaches when we were playing little league and middle school. Same coaches, different talent level. Back to the feeder comment, when the kids get to h.s. and you have to basically teach them the fundamentals of whatever sport they are playing it is aggravating as a coach because these are things they should already know. It's not the kid's fault, but it does slow the kid down when they have to learn what they shouldve learned before they came to high school. I think you touched on this in an earlier post ks. From everyone that I have spoken to, MC looks much better than they have in awhile.

My comment was more towards the people last week saying it must be the coaching. Just dont get when people call coaches out for their favorite team losing but have nothing to say when they win. Makes them sound like they are actually rooting against the team they are supposively cheering for lol.

Central got their win, yet no one commented on that. Only comments about Central here were ones blaming the coaching. So, when they do win, they dont get the credit???

CW did whatever they wanted to do on offense. QB Ian Spence's numbers: 12/12 258 yards 5 passing TD's and 1 rushing TD. Justin Tummons had 148 on the ground.

Coach Tomlinson is a good coach. Very intense guy that loves the game and his players. Everyone keeps saying that this MC squad never gives up and is always fighting. That was not the case before Coach T got there. If you got up on MC 3 years ago you knew it was over. It's a new coach bringing in a totally different offense that these kids have never ran before, so it is going to take some time.

It's looking like CW will be without Justin Tummons and Mathis Duncan.

My "sources" tell me that of the handful of CW kids that got hurt last week, just about all of them will be good to go tomorrow. Still waiting to hear the word on two of them and they should know by the end of today whether or not they will be able to dress.

CW strengths: O-Line and D-line dominate line of scrimmage. Weaknesses: need to get healthy. Anyone from CW that has actually been to both games this year will say the same thing.

The "real" Creek Wood team was on the sidelines last Friday night against Cheatham Co. Starting RB who had 146 rushing yards against Dickson Co. did not even dress against Cheatham. Back up RB didnt dress, #1 CB and WR didnt dress, starting tackle didnt dress. Starting QB got dinged up in the 3rd and had to come back in to play WR because CW's #2 CB and WR got hurt as well. Then 3rd string and 4th string RB who had to start because of injuries had to leave the game due to injuries. CW's #1 RB and #1 WR for friday nights game vs. Cheatham were Sophmores way down the depth chart. Other than that, yes the real CW team played cheatham lol.

Hard to tell a kid that he needs to think about his future when they are in high school. I hope he gets healthy before he returns, but I do not think people should tell him to just sit out the whole year because he has a bright future. No, he doesnt have anything to prove, but think of how much he would regret at least not trying to play his senior year of h.s. throughout his life. These are kids, so let them be kids.

Creek Wood didnt look great, but they also had at least 4 starters not even dress.

Would Coach Jackson even take this job now if offered??? If so, strictly for the kids I'm sure.

If you ask me I think he did a pretty good job, making it to the Championship game as the 4 seed...

Hate that CW doesnt have any of the Cheatham Co. teams in their district anymore.
