  1. I would stick Van Buren in there before Community on our side of the bracket. It looks like 10A will be up for grabs all year, but our side (in my opinion) is set with the same top 4 as last year barring a MAJOR upset.
  2. hahaha - this is one of the funniest posts ever kudos to mr. cascade11
  3. Well sometimes things are being taught, but it takes a while for the "kids" to grasp it. and sometimes even though they may not be getting it right away you still have to play them to give you the best chance to win. they will get things corrected becasue Pope is great at what he does.
  4. congrats young man that's a heck of a night.
  5. Well in the last round I was 2 for 3 with my wrong pick being the one I chose with my heart. This Friday I'll say Eagleville empties the bench against Boyd and wins by 37. With the vikings coming into our place, I'll say we right the ship (picking with my heart again) and eeke out a close one by 7. The boys from the mountain going into shankleville could be a close game or a forrest blowout (forrest looked really good tuesday), but I'll say a close one because it looks like VB is playing well right now. Home court will be too much though as Forrest wins by 5. Oh & congrats to the baker kid on his 40+ point game.
  6. So refuge, I guess we are supposed to take your word for it that the players being played have not earned it. Have you been to the practices? That is where things are decided. I'm sure he is biased toward his son, but he is probably harder on him as well. I doubt he would jeapordize the job to play his son as an 8th grader if he couldn't play. Besides we have all seen your evaluations of talent before and I wouldn't trust you to pick a starting lineup for a church league. Your diagnosis of basketball is always hilarious, so the mere fact that you side with the "parents" leans me more toward the coach. You do not have an obligation to speak out about this. Your job is to support the TEAM and teach your children the same. It is only ethical because it's not what they want. Give it a rest. I'm sure Edmondson doesn't tell any of you how to do your jobs.
  7. Okay- so I was 1 for 2 on Friday. Another poster agreed with my picks so... Yes, I have seen everyone in the district except your guys and Boyd... And no I was not at your game with MTCS, but I'm upping my score to 30 for eagleville after their impressive showing against Columbia Academy this weekend. And after shankle went off this weekend, i'll change my prediction in our game too: Cascade 61, Forrest 60 In all seriousness, I will predict that no matter the outcome of our game on tuesday Fresh will be on hear praising shankle's mere existence. If they win it will be great job Shankle and the Rockets (notice the order) and if they lose it will be shankle played good despite the outcome of the game. You can take that prediction to the bank.
  8. Okay here we go again- I'll take Community in a landslide over Boyd. I'm sure the players will "overcome the coach" and continue their rise to the top. MTCS is a little weaker than I expected with their no show against Van Buren so I'll take Eagleville by 25 if the boys from the mtn. can dispatch of them by 21. In the first HUGE contest of the year I'll take my boys in a NAILBITER against the rockets. This game scares me to death, but I really think we have the horses to do it this year. Final score = Cascade 61 Forrest 59 w/ Reed hitting a shot at the buzzer.
  9. Are you saying you guys have been able to get minutes for players who haven't seen floor time in previous years or have kids who need to see the floor this year and aren't? What are you guys like so far? Been able to effectively replace the seniors? Deep? Playing style? Give us some info.
  10. Well the district is about to heat up and even though my champions are not playing a league game this friday, I thought I would see everyone's thoughts on these 2 Friday night. Van Buren vs. MTCS: I say MTCS pulls out a late win for some mild revenge after last year's season ending defeat at the hand of the Eagles. Van Buren has played some tough early games on the road, but I see the the home team pulling off the mild upset. Eagleville vs. Community: This is where the vikings are brought back down to earth. Eagleville will empty the bench and win by 20+.
  11. Couple of questions for ptgrd12: Are any of the other 9A teams on your radar? You ever think of doing a boys poll?
  12. I agree- Forrest by about 25 in the 3rd before they start subbing.
  13. Will clay stay in A or will this move them to AA?
  14. Probably- You guys just lost too much. Don't see you winning this one.
  15. I know and I can't wait for my champions start the season where they r just that- champions of 9A.
  16. There is already a thread started on this topic.
  17. grammar

    9A

the cascade girls will give forrest good games and should finish 2nd behind them in the district
  18. I don't see them competing with my cascade champions that is for sure.
  19. nice posts by both of you. and i had not even considered that eagle about the voting and changing districts until you posted it.
  20. Have only seen the van buren bunch a little and the guys from the "valley" even less, but i'll venture a guess that they play them.500 i say that b/c i'm not sure how many times they play the schools.
  21. After your two most recent posts I think maybe we should check forrest's and your college's educational systems if YOU were able to stay eligible!! Because seriously it looks like you would have at least learned some other adjectives other than "stupid"! Reading your posts are like hearing a child who has no better come back continue to say "i'm rubber your glue...." I can see you sitting at your computer as you read this with your fingers in your ears repeating "i'm not hearing you, i'm not hearing you......" And what's with the summer camp stuff? One loss- congrats! I think your trophy is in the mail. And as for the arguments as to other players: Brandon Hall from my champions and Smith from Van Buren. Granted, I ADMITTEDLY am a little biased as a cascade fan, but a 6"6 he has loads more potential, was better than shankle as a soph and would be better to build a team around. And as for smith, he was the best player in the district last year and he's a year younger. I went to the game at your place with them and he was head and shoulders better than shankle. The difference is that VB doesn't feed him the ball EVERY time down the floor. Now before you go getting all crazy after you read this, I am not saying Corey is a ball hog. He shoots a great percentage is unselfish, a good passer, and an all around great player. I just think smith is better, and I think you could build a team around hall easier.
  22. Good point, silencekit. And Fresh- you have admitted on here in the past that this a family username so you getting on here and pumping up shankle that way is ridiculous. It makes me wonder if your family is a team first bunch ya know. Because every post makes it seem as if corey's success is more important than the teams. No one is arguing that shankle can play, but when you insist on telling us with every breath it gets old. Let the play do the talking and as the old saying goes- "if you have to tell everyone how good you are then your not" And for the record their are two players in the district I would take if starting a team before shankle and I doubt that there are coaches who would not agree.
  23. Yeah, i heard that college coaches were drooling over this kid. 6'2 skinny post with little range outside of 15'. Wow! Seriously, corey is a solid Single A player who benefits from a team that makes sure he touches it EVERY time down. Many players would put up the same stats if given as many touches. He's good, but Mr. Basketball? I'm not buying it.
  24. I don't remember Plemons being tall, but my guess is that "the boys on the mountain" will be down competing for the 3 or 4 spot again.
  25. Doubt it...Lebanon is a very good AAA team. Cully is solid and a good choice for a trip to the boro in A ball, but I don't see them beating lebanon if both are at full strength (football).
