  1. This is just my opinion, but this is how I see Region 7: 1. Antioch (large numbers keeps this team competitive every year) 2. McGavock (Always strong at Region time) 3. East Lit. Magnet (only lost 1 starter from a very young team, they will be move competitive this year) 4. Glencliff (If they fill weights they missed last year, they migh finish higher) 5. Martin Luther King Magnet (only lost 1or2 from a young team, they might suprise some teams) 6. Hunters Lane (They have 2or3 strong wrestlers returning, but will not compete as a team) 7. TSB/DCA (their strength depends upon how many wts are filled by DCA) 8. Stratford (1 returning state qual, lost Head Coach from last yr.) 9. Maplewood (New Coach, If he gets the same turnout as last yr Coach, they will move up) 10. Hume Fogg (their numbers should be higher, but they are young) 11. Pearl Coln (If they have a team) 12. Whites Creek (If they have a team) Top Wrestlers: (in no particular order) Aguilar - ELM 103/112 Steiner - Glencliff 119/125 Reed - Mlk 103/112 Edwards - Ant 119/125 Rucker - Ant 125 Corley - HL 125/130 Lett - Strat 125/130 Jones - ELM 125/130 Yahya - McGav 130/135 Nguyen - ELM 125/130 Shook - TSB/DCA 130/135 Osatile - Ant 135/140 Holman - McGav 135/140 Dowell - HL 140/145 Booker - Ant 140/145 Garrett - ELM 140/145 Gentuso - TSB/DCA 145/152 Fortune - MLK 145/152 Pegram - Glen 152 Burnley - MLK 152/160 Hardin - McGav 171 McClure - Glen 160/171 Reams - Glen 189 Oakes - TSB/DCA 171/189 Rhodes - Ant 189/215 Hopper - Map 189/215 Ferguson - ELM 189/215 Yahya - McGav 215 Hamilton - HL 285 The weights are estimates. I know that no one view Region 7 is not a strong, but I believe a few of these guys are going to make some noise at state this year.
  2. It is a Nashville club consisting of wrestlers from East Literature, Maplewood and Stratford HS. All three had very young teams this year.
  3. First, my opinion about patton is just that, my opinion. Like I said before he is a good wrestler. I look forward to seeing him compete in high school. Second, I do agree that this garrett kid did rely more on his athletic ability than technique, but it is not unusual for a 1st or 2nd year wrestler to rely on athletics to win a match when most of his opponents have move experience. If he continues to develope and get better, he will become a more technical wrestler. As for garrett winning the twf folkstyle state, I don't know how many of the best wrestlers was there, that depend upon you opinion of who is the best. He did defeat Carson Burnett in the finals and someone earlier listed him as being one the best. Since this topic was stated to identify (not debate about who is the best) up and coming freshmen. Another kid to watch for is Thomas Lumberg (152/160) @ Brentwood Academy, this kid has alot of potential. Very athletic.
  4. I saw Patton wrestle last year and he is good, but not as good as his resume makes him out to be. A couple of freshmen that might make some noise is Joseph Proctor (Cookeville) and Chanse Hayes (Baylor). I dont know what weight class Proctor will wrestle, but Hayes was at 130 at the Super32 tourney and went 2-2. Metro Nashville wrestlers are not consider good technical wrestlers, but here are some freshmen that are as good as any in middle TN and will make some noise in their region: Luis Aguilar (103) East Lit State qualifier as a 8th grader Thomas Holman (130) McGavock 2x MS City Champ Shawn Garrett (135/140) East Lit MS City Champ, TWF Schoolboy State Champ You will here about these guys within the next three years.
