  1. I knew after seeing Portland play at SC that they were better than their record showed. Thanks Panthers, I really DID not look forward to going to Chatt Howard. No offense but there is no place like home.
  2. I wish Coach Dyer and the Tigers best of luck. I think Coach D should be in the playoffs also. At least he can watch Matt play on Friday night. Good Luck.
  3. I think as long as you have the blessing of Coach Dyer all Macon players have a chance. Follow his example on and off the field and the Tigers will go far. Not only on the field but in life itself. [Edited by heydaddy on 10-26-02 2:57P]
  4. I am not sure who "no one" really is. The coaches I know at SC prepare for each school the same regardless of win/lose records. You are correct about not overlooking CC and I can assure everyone that Coach M won't. It is a regional game which means it is a playoff game in most respects.
  5. In the old days our field was known as the Rock Pile for the large creek gravels which worked up to the surface and one of our late coaches installed a strip of gravels down the home side line in order to keep his feet dry in foul weather. It was an art form learning to turn the ball carrier over just as you slid through the "crush&run". To all TCHS fans: Parking will be a big pain if you come in later. The city is allowing alot of parking along College Ave. and surrounding streets but everything is up or down a hill. Be safe.
  6. A good quality junior high program is a must as I see it. High schools which become involved in thier respected feeder programs will build and maintain a winning team. Players which are exposed to the same terminology, blocking schemes and play calling throughout thier 7th and 8th grade years contribute quicker in high school. These players also have a winter and summer workout routine, scaled down of course, fashioned after the high school. Most junior highs can not staff properly I know but with the help of good experienced volunteers it can be done. You can not always mirror the high school but you can introduce a large part of the system with the help of their staff. In my neck of the woods, we have had good success with this.
  7. At your leisure. I am at your service. Make sure cousin comes along.
  8. Your winey voice would be too much for the faithfull followers to bare. Your just jealous you dont have the perfect tone I have. Yours kinda reminds me of Twan. Fan Ya know, heydaddy...me and the cousin...we want to get hold of that microphone some night...do color commentary...think that can be arranged???...I'm sure we'd be very professional like...and Del would have plenty of material to get another Stupid Announcer thread going...I promise to not even cuss!!!... You know for a fact you and Cousin are allowed to do as you please in my little world. Has to be better than some of the accouncers we've heard in the past.
  9. She liked it, didn't she?...I have an extra one I'll send to her when you go back...cause ya know we'll have a little goody bag fixed up for ya...maybe we can even get fancheapskateman to put something in there!... If coacht needs a great view of the game from the best seats in the house let me know. I might have room. Just make sure I have a roster. Players hate it when I get the names wrong! Otherwise, I'll be on the sidelines all night. [Edited by coacht on 9-18-02 9:42P] Queen and I will be sure you have all you need for a comfortable night in my nest. She has taken care of me and my crew for years. The clock starts at 5:21 PM on game night. We look forward to seeing you.

  12. Only at the HiveJive Queenie!!!! Fan October 4th...after the game...bunch of jiving gonna happen at the hive!!! That's on a Friday. You know the trouble I have with Friday nights and Jives.
  13. Actually tonight they will wear all white. Heydaddy...ya know...there's one in every crowd...it's going to be hard to see those numbers...white on white...so HA! Okay, black numbers, white uniforms. I stand corrected. See you there.
  14. He has a good arm just alittle on the thin side to suit me. I wish Dusty would pick up a couple of pounds. He is a great kid.
  15. Actually tonight they will wear all white.
  16. Typically before the SCHS/Gville game. Might want someone to get Terry Collins to respond or the "Carthage Courier".
  17. One day at a time is the way to live in this region. With nearly a hundred players in high school and middle school, Bean004 should realize he/she is in a team effort. Might want to work on home work more and message board less.
  18. Not having seen Gville players since last year, I don't know hard they have trained. I do know how hard the two SC running backs have trained during the off season. It will make a difference late in the game.
  19. I was honored to be on the guest list. The "Queen and her court" was on thier game especially the Elvis tunes played live.
  20. I am being very bias but Smith County usual fields a good team. Richard Anderson has taken over as head coach bring a world of experience. In the last three seasons, SC has had two bowl teams and one undefeated regular season.
  21. I wonder where people will park at SCHS (CHS)? This should be one of the better games in this series. I hope everyone performs up to the Hype.
  22. Lowdown hit it on the head. His/Her account is accurate by all accounts I know of. People in the know said Goolsby started saying good-bye two weeks before he actually resigned. There goes being pushed out.
  23. Outsiders have no idea what really goes on inside a program from day to day. Goolsby was not "run off" by the powers that be. He made a decision based on his needs along with that of his family. SCMS is blessed to have Coach A back, another coach not "run off". His decision to leave was his own I can assure you. Talent levels in middle schools vary so much from year to year no one coach can be blamed or exlated based on thier record. You play with what you got as the saying goes. Coach Gentry worked tirelessly with the Junior High team for three years with an all volunteer staff. Facts are an important part of anything. Unless you are involved directly with a situation it would be hard to pass judgement on Goolsby, Gentry or anyone else in the SCHS program. He will do his best at MCHS, Gentry will excell as a High School coach and Coach A is home again. It's about the kids anyway.
