  1. Looking at the schedules, I would think the Sequoyah at McCentral this Friday would be of more interest to Polk fans, since those are both district opponents... and I agree with PolkcoPride, East Ridge won't offer much of a challenge on the 13th..
  2. You can't read? I said "they're not thugs"!! I will assume you have discussed these kid's behavior with their parents face to face, since you work with them and are so willing to discuss it here?
  3. But they're not thugs...............just so we're all clear. If y'all weren't wearing those Pirate eye patches, blocking your vision, you would have seen this coming about 4 weeks ago, But no,, 4 weeks ago this team was more disciplined than past teams and being disciplined for things that would have slipped by in the past..and this team seems to play more as a team than some in the past....and you, MrLegit worked with these kids parents and assured us all they weren't a problem!
  4. East Ridge has only scored 12 points total in their two games this season, against mediocre competition. So I doubt they can outscore Central by two scores. I think Central gets back on track and wins by 10 or more.
  5. I am not a coach, never have been. I played high school (undefeated against SP), but also not an "SP poster" so maybe that question doesn't apply to me.... With that said,,Any unbiased observer of a particular fall scrimmage would have seen this coming. The lack of control by the coaches, the profanity from players, the "look at me" atitudes, and the lack of domination of much lesser opponents led me to question this current teams discipline, integrity, size, overall performance, etc. as compared to other SP teams I had seen at previous BC scrimmages and during previous regular season games. I was basically told I didn't know what I was talking about, and I believe Ambassador actually questioned my questioning the discipline, since his opinion was that this team was more disciplined.... I have always followed Sp becasue of various connections to my alma mater, so good luck, get it straight.....or who knows what will happen, Have y'all ever been mercy ruled at Beene?
  6. It was open, but you had to get a ticket on the home side, then go back to the visitors side gate. It wasn't a problem for me, but for older fans it makes things difficult. Not a big deal, just a way to improve Good luck the rest of the way
  7. I'm going with the Chargers in this one. That size must not add much value to the Chiefs, because I've seen Walker Valley and they have no size. This game could be for 2nd place in 5AA.
  8. Looks like everything played out as Charlie expected.....and same old Sequoyah!
  9. OK, we all agree that Polk relies heavily on #35 and that most of the starters for Central had enough sometime early in the 3rd quarter. Let's move on.... you Central guys, fishhead, tistheseason, pounder1, could y'all have something done about that marshland you call a visitors side. Spray those trees for mosquitoes, a pressure washer would do wonders for those nasty @$$ bleachers, and maybe sell tickets at the back gate? It's tough for older folks to get from the high school parking to the visitors side... either a steep hill or a walk down those bleachers where there is no rail. I saw your golf cart guy hauling a few of the older fans over to the Polk side, but he can't get them all. Other than that it was a great atmosphere, good sportsmanship, good concessions, etc.
  10. He was not injured, just playing with some pain. Its what alot of football players do. But it was obvious that central doesnt have any of that type, with some heart. Y'all quit! And 21 made your D look pretty bad too!
  11. Lenoir City, probably by more than 14 sweetwater, meigs isn't going to beat anyone. McCentral, Boyd gave up 41 to a horrible Red Bank. Polk, perfect discipline and fundamentals versus playground football... hard work beats talent. If Sequoyah is what they think they are, they should beat WV by 20+.
  12. That was pretty much what I meant. I didn't see anyone from Red Bank on his level of quickness.
  13. If you have problems tackling, Facing Boyd from MC is not a good remedy... The D will think they are in position to make the tackle, then they grab air!!! My opinion, Red Bank is horrible, unless they improved exponentially since the Bradley 5 way scrimmage.
  14. Based on what I saw at the Bradley Central scrimmage...... McCentral was better than Red Bank at that time. I would say one or two TDs better. I'm sure there has been improvement by all teams since then, and they say the most improvement is from game 1 to game 2...... but based on what I have seen, if you give up 41 points to Red Bank's offense... McCentral should score as much, and there D is their strength. Did Red Bank move the ball through the air or on the ground, because I think Central's offense is severely one dimensional.
  15. Polks pass defense looks good too, if their not blowing coverages and getting beat by recievers!
  16. Bradley threw two picks, and Polk muffed a punt. It was a great game. Miller in the "Wildcat", who saw that coming?
  17. McMinn Central beat Notre Dame last season??? Seriously?
  18. I could be wrong, but I don't think Polk's lineman go both ways. There may be some subbing on D that brings in an O Lineman, but for the majority, I think the 4 on D are different than the 5 on O. Now LB's and DB's may be a different story. I think the key to this game is Polk controlling the ball, limiting BC's big plays. I think BC's QB is on the same level as Copeland last year, but it was Bradley's RB, #1, that shredded Polk last season.
  19. Ah yes, that is becoming a little more common at LGD Football Stadium..... And I agree, ND is a joke. Maybe Coach D should request donations for parking anyone in green on October 11
  20. Sorry to break it to you, but you are mistaken, on both counts. Polk has never charged for parking, or asked for "donations", and there is always local police and/or fire and rescue working traffic after the game, on 411, at the north and south exits of the parking lot.
  21. No report on PC dumdum? Was there a high school skills competition? Anyone got the winners?
  22. Welcome to a game at McMinn Central..... They'll stand there and ask for your "donation" on the way in....but good luck getting anyone to try and direct traffic on the way out.. It is ridiculous and was the reason Charlie chose not to go.
  23. After seeing the scrimmage Friday, Polks D needs to turn it up in the next two weeks! There were series' that looked good, but others that left concern.
