  1. Here is a projected 3A bracket I put together. I projected district finish as well as final win total and tried to estimate quality opponents. All this was based completely on current standings, record, score comparison, and coin flip in some cases. I divided quads up based on districts, just starting in district 1 and moving west, so some of those could be off. I tried to sort all the district 11 teams based on location. And, yes, I know it will change. And yes I'm sure some of my predictions are off. 1 Alcoa 2 Gatlinburg-Pittman 3 Sullivan North 4 Pigeon Forge 5 West Greene 6 CAK 7 Chuckey-Doak 8 Happy Valley 1 Upperman 2 Polk County 3 Notre Dame 4 Tyner 5 McMinn Central 6 Sequatchie County 7 Grundy County 8 York Institute 1 CPA 2 East Nashville 3 Westmoreland 4 Lipscomb Academy 5 Cascade 6 Harpeth 7 White House Heritage 8 Smith County 1 Lewis County 2 Fairview 3 Westview 4 Hickman County 5 East Hickman 6 Manassas 7 Camden 8 Fairley Corrected some of the geoghraphy, I'm sure not all of it. And took Stewart Co out.
  2. 4 wins will get a team into the 3A playoffs, and with the quality of CAK's schedule, they'll get in. LA and Kingston are very winnable!
  3. Polk can capture the district 5AA title with a win at Sweetwater. "On paper" this looks like a mismatch of epic proportions....will it play out that way on the field?
  4. Miller had 148 yards.....Wimberly played a great game on both sides. First thing Fant needs to do is teach them boys to line up on time and on the correct side of the ball.
  5. You were alot more confident a few weeks ago!!? Sounds like you're hedging, just getting those excuses ready!
  6. Neither team is at the expected "status quo" for these programs, should be a decent game. From what I've seen, I'll go with SP by 13, but real close in the first half.
  7. District standings have been updated on TSSAA.org to show 0 wins for Tyner. They will still finish 2nd in the District! If they and Hixson win out.
  8. #33 and #44 may turn out to be one of the better combos that Polk has had.
  9. Come on over to Larry G Davis sports complex this Friday. A few intersting facts and "need to knows".. 1. Don't speed inside the city limits. 2. The wildcat Cafe does not have anything deep fried. No corndogs or funnel cakes, but I hear Peanut is considering bringing in a deep fryer for the week 10 game. 3. No need to bring cupcakes, that Fant feller is bringing a bus load. 4. Polk never charges to park! And the ticket price is 5$. But I'm sure you were there in 2011 when the Eagles go their wings clipped!
  10. Volaholic I'll respond to your question from the Polk v Sequoyah thread here, since it concerns this game..... Do I think Polk is “That much better†than Signal, I don’t know, how much better does Polk have to be? Seems like “just as good†as Signal Mountain will do! If Signal had just kicked it away from #1 to start the game, you guys don’t even score a TD! I haven’t seen Signal Mountain play, but I have seen Notre Dame play. I don’t think the Irish do anything any different and definitely not any better than some of the other teams Polk has played and beaten this season. Polk has faced better QB’s, better running backs, better wide outs, and better offensive and defensive lines. I wasn’t impressed with ND’s line play, their first move was straight up and there was a lot of standing around. I have no idea how this is going to turn out, anymore than you knew how the Signal game was going to turn out, didn’t you pick ND by 14 or something? But I do know the facts. Polk has wins over quality opponents. What has happened when Notre Dame has played quality opponents? Polk’s victories are over teams that have an overall record of 16-15 (52%), Notre Dame’s victories are against teams with a 9-16 overall record (36%). If Polk plays like they did at East Ridge or McMinn Central, Notre dame will have a chance to win. If Polk plays like they have the past couple weeks, Polk wins convincingly
  11. Good game! Hey LCM, I've been studying on it, and if you guys make the playoffs, there is a real good chance for a rematch! Still alot of football though...
  12. All right, yeah I was just waiting for the officiatidng to be brought up.....it's been a long day.. I think Davis is as good a defensive strategist as you will find. Maybe Polk and the CHIEFS can both make deeper runs this season. Good luck against White Co, we have to go slaughter some leprechauns!
  13. Miller had 115 according to Cleveland Daily Banner. Sure, which part do you want to talk about, the part where the receiver pushed off, the part where he landed on his backside out of bounds, or the part where he got an unsportsmanlike for mouthing, which I must say is no way for a homecoming king to behave..... After that we can talk about that PI call on 4th down in the endzone. Coach D. Davis has a 5-12 playoff record in 13 seasons. And he has never lost to the CHEFS!
  14. I think 2010 was the best, I mean how many teams have applied the reverse pirate rule...?, but this team has potential. They showed some versatility last night. The difference is, Jared Allen played QB and had his hands on the ball every play and was a once in a lifetime type athlete.
  15. How many TDs did the high powered ND offense score?
  16. Maybe they should do like y'alls fans and hangout in the parking lot til halftime, then come in, when no one is taking up money anymore! Tyner and Turner have more class than Central and John Allen could even dream of. Kids may get a little cocky, that's normal, but usually when they have something to be cocky about, which y'all don't. Stop trying to convince yourself that Tyner, or any other team, is as miserable as your team, fan base, and coahes.
  17. This was an exciting nailbiter. Polk's D made stops and the Offense showed they have more than one playmaker. Sequoyah is a good team, y'all should give some trouble to any playoff opponent.
  18. We do hear the same thing from Cheif fans, especially in the past couple seasons, I'm not sure they were saying anything a few years ago when they were 0-10. But this current Polk Co team is like Jekyll and Hyde... so it will be interesting to see how they play tonight. Eventually these Cheif fans have to get it right... I don't think this season is that season, but I was at East Ridge, so I know anything can happen.
  19. HAHA! We probably heard it from the same source, but probably not the same century!
  20. Go Signal Mountain. Hit 'em so hard that it hurts when they shift gears in their porsche's tomorrow morning!
  21. Last five meetings it has been Polk 175 Sequoyah 28 Just a little history, really means nothing. I have expected Seq. to give Polk a game the past couple seasons, but it hasn't happened. I think this game may be a little closer, but I thought that last year too.
