Oh ya. is he left handed. A friend of mine from Wartburg was telling me about him. Not many people are gonna beat the pitching, hitting, and fundamentally sound Rockwood.

I haven't gotten to see Duncan pitch yet this year. I seen him last year at OZ. And I couldn't give everything to Rockwood. lol. Although they probley deserve it.

Well, its early and its hard to tell. but top 5 pitcher in the region I've seen. 1- Hawn, Sunbright 2- Cooper, Rockwood 3- Leach, OZ 4- Breazeale, Rockwood 5- Daugherty, Wartburg Early season Top 5 hitters 1- Doughty, Rockwood 2- Allen, Rockwood 3- Melton, Coalfield 4- Brown, OZ 5- Newberry, Coalfield

Rockwood wins the region........ As for district play, OS is not last year's os. They dont have any GREAT hitters. Just alot of decent ones. Coalfield has no GREAT pitchers, or GREAT hitters for that matter. Coalfield is a good team, but I don't see them beating Sunbright. Sunbright has a GREAT pitcher in hawn and a couple good 2 starters. None of the teams out of that district have great hitting like Rockwood. Although Rockwoods district is weak, they should be a real contender come mid-late May. For all you Coalfield fans, it took your team 8 innings to beat oakdale? That's not exactly district champ like numbers. ya ya a win is a win, but when it takes 8 innings to beat a team that is more than likely gonna finish 4, I can see alot of improvement that needs to take place.

Haha jokes on you..... I'm sure you'll get to see him again, so we will see if they bobcats can beat hawn...... By the way Leach cannot pitch every game either, and who else has REAL pitching experience for Oz.... Both teams threw their best and Sunbright came out with the win. Looks like Sunbright is the front runner for region out of their district. Rockwood has been looking very solid, and they have to be the favored.

Sunbright wins 4-0. Leach pitched and Ryan Hawn pitched. Do you Oz faithful believe me now? The hawn kid can pitch and he dont get enough credit.

I can see both sides of the arguement, but then again people say you can congradulate your teammate in the dugout. I was just curious what people thought.

Who threw for both teams?

I've seen teams come out and meet players at home after a Home Run, but I've also seen teams not. Should teams go congradulate their teammates, or act like they've been there before? Is there some term of unspoken sportsmanship here, or is it expect after a Home Run?

haha they get rockwood monday...... They will have to play extremely well to extend their winning streak to 4.

Wartburg beat Clarkrange 14-0. Barnes got the win. Josh Kidd hit a HR, to clinch the deal in the top of the fifth.

Sunbright can really make some noise this year. With Ryan Hawn on the mound I'd be tempted to take them over almost anyone. They are very experienced and if they start clicking at the plate they could make a legit run for region.

Ya Coalfield-9 Oakdale-8?????? What is that? Real score? Any Details?

This is second hand info so if im wrong please correct me. First game Wartburg won 6-1 behind the arm of Daugherty. Daugherty threw a 2 hitter givin up 1 run. Second game had Wartburg winning 9-4. Bunch got the win. Nicholes hit a HR to lead the dawgs on offense. #14 lead the Highlanders with Two jacks. Wartburg goes to Clarkrange tommorrow night. Good luck.

The athlete on the basketball team won't play because they feel it is not worth getting hurt over to go 0-10. and 4 of the top 6 players on the basketball team this year played football. No Offense but i cannot see the shannon's beeing football players. What big kids on the basketball team don't play football?

I talked to a player from Wartburg and he said Daugherty didn't throw. He said shoulda been four home runs but they called another HR from #27 foul... he said it was a blast. He said Rockwood had like 7 hits? Walks are a killer. Anybody know who threw for Wartburg? and how many HR's does #27 on the year?

I hear that Davis is back. No offense to ABUNCH, but these kids have heart but are lacking in talent. The football teams need to worry about winning games instead of physical abusing the other school. First of all the are not strong enough to abuse the other teams. Second of all they had more ejections last year than any team i know of. and third of all its kind of embaressing when u have players hittin kids calling fair catches. and lineman slamming a QB that threw the ball 3 seconds before he even got there, there is a reason u got in the backfield. They lost Rogers, Nelson, Brown, Winstead, Rose, and young. They do not have a running back this year that can handle taking 20-30 hits a game like Rogers and George of the past. The experienced line could be there strong point, but then again that was suppose to be their best quality two years ago and they were disappoiting. They do not have any recievers coming back that made much noise last year. Sayin all this, there is hope for this year's team. Playoffs-No. Wins-yes.

Christiansen finished second in a home run derby in Mufreesboro? How did he get there? He was in a region last year with sluggers like Andy Willis, Jeremiah Justice, Joshue Justice, Ryan Carson, Shane Doughty? I just don't see how STATE "SCOUTS" the guys that choose all-state teams and stuff like that, would notice a kid from a team put out in the first round of their district tourny, with all theses sluggers?

89bobcat I sure do hope you were beeing sarcastic. I love Philip. He's a great kid with alot of heart, and a good bat. He is an average pitcher at best. He has some zip on his fastball and thats about it. If philip can keep rockwood under 8 runs he should be happy. Rockwood can crush the ball, and if he does pitch.. IDK there schedule this week? if theres any district games he probley wont...... he is gonna have to throw alot of offspeed stuff which i've never seen him throw? Harriman has a great coach, and he will have his team ready to compete. They do return a couple good players, they should be fine this year. They do play Rockwood though. BIG PROBLEM. Good luck Devils.

Oneida will probley only finish above Oakdale..... and there is a pretty good chance they will split with them.

Humboldt fans, I apologize from Morgan county for the unsportsmanlike attitude shown by a few posters from wartburg. Do I agree with the guy pushing away wartburg's players hand? No not in any way, but It was a heated game and both of these teams wanted to win bad. Wartburg I'm very happy for you guys. You overcame all kinds of obstacles this year, and you lost by 9 to probley the best A team in the state. That says alot. Humboldt won this game on the boards. I'm pretty sure Sain had 17 boards, and Epperson had 16. not sure on these stats exactly but im pretty sure. Humboldt crashed the boards hard, with Wartburg's biggest player getting very little playing time. Would it have been different with Winstead in? Maybe, but we will never know? You seniors go out as argueably the best team in Wartburg history. You did something no other Morgan county boys team could do and that is to not only go to state, but be competitive. We are very very proud of you, and you have nothing to be ashamed about. You guys are champions in our book. Congrats again Humboldt, Win state.

haha no baseball100.... I did not mean that... I mean in a scientific thinking..... If you can hit a ball going mid 60's 425 feet, then you should be able to hit a baseball coming roughly 80 about 500..... I agree Rockwood should run away with this region, and they should make a good run towards the Boro.
