  1. Wow! that Devine kid is pretty awsome. I went on the net and looked him up, here is an interesting article I found. At 17 he is the father of 1 with another on the way. I hope with his kind of talent he can stay focused and be a greater football player as he gets older, but it sounds like his personal responsibilites may get in the way of all that. Click on the link below to read the article if you want. Noel Devine
  2. Thank you for your congratulations and best of luck to CAK. They are a very good team and will be a force to be reckoned with. I guess we'll just have to disagree on this issue. I do not see anything wrong with a player being excited about making a big play...be it a tackle, sack, interception, big run, catch or touchdown. I have watched all the games today and most players that have made a big play have been excited and shows high enthusiasm for their efforts. I don't know why Alcoa continues to get picked on about this when all teams have players that do it. All players may not celebrate the same way or to your liking, but they are all individuals with their own personalities. I'm sorry if you don't want your son seeing "some" players being happy with their accomplishments. Let's be fair and admit that all teams have players that do some sort of celebrating. It's not just an Alcoa thing. You are definatley free to feel the way you do though.
  3. If I had been sitting at home watching this game on tv instead of being at Murfreesboro because my team hadn't made it, I would be envious of the talent I was watching too and wouldn't dare want that team to make any kind reaction to their good efforts on the field. Make sure when junior gets to Murfreesboro you tell him to not show any emotion, he might make somebody back at home feel bad. If you think the game should have been watched with parental supervision, maybe they should have rated this game "R" for respect, which is what Alcoa deserves!
  4. From what I understand, he did not "bail" on his team. He had to move to Alcoa because his mother is or was having health problems. Her family lives in Alcoa and they moved here to be closer to her family during her health crisis. You really think a kid can just up and decide he wants to switch schools whenever he feels like it? right.
  5. Excellent Post! I'm VERY proud of ALL of Alcoa's players. They all play their heart out every game. Why FBWhatshisname likes to post on a 2A board about a team he can't stand even if it is from his hometown is beyond me. Just to stir up the pot and draw attention to himself, which I'm sorry to say he gets away with. His envy of Alcoa's program is so obvious but he'd never come close to admitting it. No, Alcoa didn't beat Maryville, we ALL know that. They have beaten Maryville in the past, and they will beat Maryville in the future. So, it is possible. Could Alcoa have beaten Maryville had Brandon played that night? We'll never know, will we? All that matters now is this Alcoa Team just won back to back State Titles and broke tons of state records this season. They are a special team, and we are so proud of them. Congratulations Alcoa....2A State Champs!!!! Good Luck to Maryville Today, better wear your rain coat!
  6. I am NOT from Alcoa. I was born in, raised in, and currently live in the Maryville City Limits AND my 2 kids go to Maryville City Schools, AND I graduated from Maryville High School as well as my father and sisters. BTW, My father was a coach at Maryville a long time ago. So don't even pretend you know anything about me. I was just pointing out that Maryville's Football program is NOT perfect as some that feel the need to post on this 2A board would like the world to believe. I support Maryville's football team AND Alcoa's. You see, I have the ability to be unbaised. If I or anyone else on this board want to defend Brandon Warren for what ever reason, mainly because most of us KNOW him then get OVER it!!!! If you don't like the posts from people who support Brandon then don't read the posts. It's that simple, really it is. CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN BRANDON....AND GO ALCOA!!!!!
  7. If you have a problem with what I post, then don't read my posts. I am very proud of Brandon Warren and ALL of the Alcoa Tornadoes, and you or anyone else are not going to make me feel bad because you "have a problem with it" Geez...I wonder how many of you people have actually met Brandon, my guess would be O. Well, I have. So, me and anyone else that knows him have the right to say the kind things about him that he deserves. Like I've said before, jealousy brings out the worst in people, especially on this board! Go Alcoa!!!!!!
  8. Hmm..seems not so long ago Maryville's football team turned out a bunch of counterfiters. You remember, the ones (I won't say their names, I'm sure you know who they were) that printed fake money and passed it around all over town. At least Brandon Warrens "crimes" are not a federal offense, so quit making a federal case out of it. He's a great kid who made a couple of mistakes on the football field. He's the one that is paying the price for it. CONGRATULATIONS BRANDON...YOU DESERVE IT AND MUCH MORE!
  9. Hey, What's the link to your sit. I'd like to check it out.
  10. I suspect it's alot like it is for Alcoa in 2a and Maryville in 4a. Envy and jealousy bring out the worst in people. It's easy to hate teams that have a lot of talent and are hard to beat. Great teams in all classes represent a wall for several teams that are good too, just not good enough to beat the best. When they can't get around or over the wall, the haters do the only other thing they can. Try to tear it down with their words. What the haters don't realize is it just drives a great team to try even harder to prove all the skeptics wrong. That they DO deserve to be where they are....in Murfreesboro! GO ALCOA....BEAT GOODPASTURE!
  11. It was an awsome game. Tyner played hard but Alcoa stood strong. Alot of players stepped up to fill some big shoes. Drew Miller, Justin Duncan, Bobby Keller and Logan Love along with the rest of the Tornadoes. There will NOT be a rematch of last years game in the finals 'cause Alcoa will be playing Goodpasture this year... See Ya'll at Murfreesboro!! GO ALCOA....BEAT GOODPASTURE!!
  12. never has a team been so envied by so many on this board. jealousy is a powerful thing. to have such talent (Yes, we do still have talent) and to be so hard to beat makes everyone hate you. Oh well, life goes on for those STILL in the playoffs. GO ALCOA....BEAT TYNER!!!!
  13. The officiating in this game in general was horrible anyway. Even before that happened with Brandon. Sometimes you get a fair crew in to call these games and sometimes it seems all you see is flags all night. There were a few calls they didn't make on Loudon, that if Alcoa had done the same, they would have drawn flags for sure. I'm just saying the refs should be fair and unbaised, but if sure doesn't seem that way sometimes.
  14. I was at the game..the first "unsportsmanlike penalty" was when he and a loudon player shoved each other. the penalties were offset. The second unsportsmanlike was for "showboating" after spinning the ball on the ground after a nice catch and gain. If a player gets 2 such penalties in a game unfortunatly, it's an automatic ejection . I know Brandon..he's a really nice guy but his emotions when he plays can be beneficial and detremental also. I will say after he was ejected, Alcoa scored 3 touchdowns and still kept Loudon off the board. He will be missed, but these guys don't need him to win. There is alot more to Alcoa than Brandon Warren. Go Alcoa....Beat Tyner!

  16. For Those interested anymore, here is an article that was printed in the Blount Today newspaper about the game last Fri. The PRINCIPLE of Gatlinburg-Pittman says they DO NOT agree with all the critics who have bashed Alcoa. Well you can read for your self.... Blount Today Article
  17. Alcoa 56 CAK -14 with that said I need to make an observation here. Observe is what I usually do on this board. Never have actually posted, just like to read. So with that in mind, I've read this thread, I read the closed thread before this one and I realized something, I haven't seen ONE post from a player, coach, or fan of Gatlinburg-Pittman on here saying Alcoa was "classless", "gutless", or whatever else they have been called. Bottom line is they haven't done that because they actually were AT the game and saw what happened unlike the posters who continue to bash Alcoa. If anyone has the right to complain or judge it would most certainly be them I think. (I know, you bashers have the right to your opinion, blah, blah blah) I was there, and I felt sorry for GP. The fact that they aren't on here doing what others are shows us what Class really is. Go Alcoa! BTW, I graduated from Maryville, and my kids go to Maryville, so these few "people" from Maryville on this board don't speak for all Maryville alumni and students. Go Rebels! oh, and.......Go Steelers!!!!!!!!
