  1. I find all this interesting news that I didn't know.
  2. I cannot see how it would be a better fit...just thinking of switching from spread to WingT sounds as exciting as watching grass grow. I really think Riverdale supporters should band together and show him some love, support, and appreciation to keep him at Riverdale...a raise, new car, diamond watch may do the trick.
  3. All I can say is it been the whose-who of football from this state and others...very competitive. One coach from neighboring state applying has four straight championships under belt and some of the others 39 coaches have state with championships and/or close to state playoff. That may all sound good but personally but I would put Coach Tom Shuman over all of them. He is as good as anyone could ask for, especially with his West Virginia style spread offense he brought in 2004 and his alliance and dedication of assistant??™s coaches. Coach Rector??™s expertise was with the defense and Shuman has been with the offense over the years. The only reason you might not heard of Tom Shuman, it was because we wanted to keep him under raps, knowing Coach Rector wanted to move up to college ball scene. Hopefully, the administration at Ravenwood will make the right choice and you can hang on to your coaches so it won??™t make a mess of things as cascading event of Coaches switching jobs during the spring season.
  4. Congrats on 1000 post. Yazzie was a beast in the secondary...his stock should rise as the result. It's a tough situation for any QB playing in the all-star game and being switched in and out with other QB's. It takes more than a few days of training to get hooked up on precise passing routes unless the receiver comes from the same team as the QB.
  5. Funny thing, Logan hasn't played on defensive side of field all year. So tell me again how you ran ALL over him when he was on defense. Do you and your buddies like make things up because you don't know any better or is it a habit? You've and your Franklin boys blasted Nick Yazzie of Hendersonville, then Chaz of Centennial, Heckman of Independence and now Logan at Ravenwood Who is next, Mason at Brentwood?
  6. Only Hillsboro................................................just kidding. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  7. With Hendersonville and Gallatin out the picture, Antioch and Hunters Lane should be favorite for District 12 in 2009.
  8. Centennial kicker/punter had the best leg in the district.
  9. Using the midget envy syndrome as excuse...what's next? Therefore you are calling all the high school district head coaches idiots, including your own Franklin coach. I'm sure if Connor Walkup deserved it, the coaches would have picked him. If you want to praise Connor, then do so but don't knock other players because of your personal opinion doesn't agree with the outcome. All the belly aching the world will not change a thing with the decision but only hurt the Franklin football image. Be thankful for what you have, what was accomplished this year, and leave a positive image of the team. AP's awards will be out soon, maybe Connor will show up on the list.
  10. Rector will have his work cutout to pare down the varsity below 100 players or he will have to go with players wearing the same number. The line play should be solid with rising seniors waiting in the wings to get playing time. Shuman has an solid group of lineman coming up on both sides of the ball. The sibling brothers of previous lineman are coming through the system. Ten underclassman skill players were out with season ending injuries. They should be back and ready. Fitz is totally amazing receiver with some of clutch sideline catches. Expect QB Williams to have tremendous passing year with Fitz and Bayless. Defensive line and linebacker corp has plenty of depth and experience coming back. The only question will be the secondary. Since several of the skill players went out with season ending injuries, they didn't get as much playing time. The secondary was a rag tag group depleted corp at the end of the season due to injuries. It was odd year to see 12 players go out season ending injuries but 10 are coming back next year. Hopefully the injury bug will leave 2009 season alone. BA and MBA were dropped from the schedule until the TSSAA fixes its playoff qualification. Sorry dudes, it was fun while it lasted. Complaint department is at the TSSAA headquarter if there is not enough in state games scheduled...enjoy the ride. Week 1 @ Goodpasture Week 2 Hillsboro Week 3 @ Page Week 4 @ Brentwood Week 5 Antioch Week 6 Franklin Week 7 @ FRA Week 8 Centennial Week 9 Smyrna Week 10 @ Independence
  11. If you tune in to MyTV30 this Saturday @ 11AM, you will get to see the following tackles play for the West team on the Toyota East/West All Star game. DALLON HUDSON DAVID LIPSCOMB WILLIAM JUDSON RAVENWOOD BLAINE BOONE* WHITE HOUSE LOGAN MASSENGALE RAVENWOOD I don't see any Franklin tackles on the list as selected by Coaches, not to say Connor Walkup didn't deserve recognition. The entire front line for Franklin deserves praise for their team effort. Both Ravenwood tackles are being recruited by Division 1 schools. How is the recruitment going for Connor and is he getting any offers at the next level?
  12. Week 9 (Oct. 23rd) @ Ravenwood in 2009 and @ Smyrna on the same week 9 in 2010.
  13. Since this is a Smyrna thread, it's not proper to reply on Indy.
  14. Just when you think the competition couldn't be more competitive, the TSSAA raised the stakes between these teams where every win is very important just to get in the playoffs as a wildcard, not to mention finishing 1st or 2nd. It's goodbye to playing DII teams which is sad but it is what the TSSAA wanted.
  15. You are right tdntn, 2P and OP has stood by their Patriots over the good and bad years, congratulations Oakland. Now Oakland has changed from the hunter to the hunted in 2009.
  16. The hatchet must have been buried between these two teams...Ravenwood & Smyrna series is back on in 2009.
  17. Why are you bashing 'Gerry Bertier' and worst off, bashing all parents as "dumb as usual parent"? Gerry post was simple observations and opinion, not bashing coaches. Yet your rant is totally uncalled for and belittling parents as dumb. If you are a coach, you didn't prove it by your post. Yours truly, Dumb as usual parents
  18. Hillsboro beating Maryville which Franklin beat Hillsboro in the first game of the season don't bold well for Oakland. This has to be a shot in the arm for Franklin for the start of the game.
  19. Congrats to Hillsboro, next year District 11 team. Now if Franklin wins, it will have two state champs from next year District 11.
  20. Hillsboro stopped on the 21 with fifty seconds left. Totally impossible, Hillsboro wins 10-7
  21. 0.55- left, 4th and three on the twenty-two.
  22. Hillsboro wins it if they can run out the clock with 2:34 left.
  23. Can Maryville take it to the house with 3 minutes left?
  24. Trick plays are not working. Hillsboro ball with about five minutes to play.
  25. Got'em on the trick play down on the thirty. Hillsboro is learning.
