If you want to trust the future of Oak Ridge football on Barry Saunders word then we might as well just not have a football program at Oak Ridge anymore. He's a good guy but thats about it. I dont understand why the people of Oak Ridge would settle for some assistant coach. Until the committee starts putting the programs best inerest at heart I expect more of the same incompetence from the last time. The simple fact that there a more qualified candidates than RG who have applied should make him the last resort if any at all.

Ron Grey, Mike Mullins and his wife, and Barry Saunders are the ones that started the phone calls to the admin. when they found out Gaddis was the committees selection. They all wanted Grey. The Admin. new this and not only did not hire Gaddis but did not hire Grey because of his actions. It is all of their faults plus a few more that post on this board that wrote letters and made phone calls trying keep Gaddis from getting the job the last time. That is why we hired stevens and have stunk every since. Why would anyone want to bring in someone who had a hand in being responsible for out current situation. Is there not a HEAD COACH that has applied that can lead this program? I know for a fact that there are SEVERAL more qualified HEAD COACHES that have applied for this job that makes RG's resume look like a post-it note.

Did I say that I would be okay sending him there when SS was there? No. But thanks for putting words in my mouth. If RG is hired it will prove that no one on this committee or the administration has the programs best interest at heart.

How could anyone who has the best interest of the program at heart say that RG is rght person for the job? Or any other assistant with no HC experience? Anyone that says he is the right person for the job is guessing because they have no facts to support their arguement. They cant talk about his record as a HC or playoff appereances as a HC because he's never been one. Oak Ridge is not a place to learn on the job. We need a proven winner at the HS level

Who is hiring our coach? Is it the AD and the Principal or is it the school board?

The thing Gaddis did? What Gaddis did is between him and his family. It is his personal life. Why cant we let it be his personal life wheather he is the hc or not? I can tell you that if everyone that has done similar to him couldnt work in this city then this would be a very lonely place. Now, I don't see him being hired even if he applies. The current AD and a current assistant coach are the ones that started the phone calls to the administration last time around to keep Gaddis from getting hired. They did this to block Gaddis because they wanted Grey to be the coach. If this is who will be heading up the committee to hire our new coach then we already have one foot in grave. Can he make an unbiased decision or put together an unbiased committee? I seriously doubt it. Maybe he will suprise me. Why would anybody want someone with ZERO head coaching experience to lead Oak Ridge High School out this hole? It doesn't make much sense to me. I say go after a big name and do whatever it takes to get him. Too many people involved in this process have their own agendas. They need to let that go and do what is right for Oak Ridge Football because you see what happened when they did it their way last time. This hire is not just for ORHS. It is for RMS, JMS, and the ORBC because if the right person is hired it will affect all football in OR the right way.

You got it all figured out don't you? a. I am not a coach of any sport. b. if I was a coach I would not be coaching at Oak Ridge. c. I would hope that our coaches have more important things to do than read and post than message board.

The way I understand it is the scrimmage was scheduled by the 2 coaches for Friday May 2nd sometime ago. It is also my understanding that Oak Ridge has scrimmaged powell for years on this same Friday. Apparantly a spring scrimmage is an agreement between head coaches. It is not something scheduled by the schools. someone maybe should have called to confirm the scrimmage a day or two prior. I guess powell's spring practice did not start at the same time this year and they probably didn't think about the scrimmage that was scheduled long ago. But that's just a guess. I don't agree with everything that our coach has done but some of you would blame him if it rained.

Ron Grey would be worse than what we have now. You wanna see a total lack of support? then hire the back stabbing Ron Grey. His track record speaks for itself. He has burned every bridge he's ever crossed.

For whatever reasons I believe the excitement is gone from Oak Ridge fball. There is some proof of that here on this message board. It wasn't too many years ago when OR fball had pages and pages of threads on here talking about the team etc. year round. Those threads have dissapeared. I think it's sad. Part of that could be lack of talent recently or it could be other detractors. If things don't change it wont be long til the youth growing up in OR will have no recolection of what alot of us think about when we think about OR fball and the tradtion and excitement we have seen growing up here.

farragut dominated every aspect of the game. our defense had no answer and our offense was pitiful. this is not what I expected against one of our biggest rivals. If tteams stop #5 we are done because we have no passing game.

3 first downs, 5 interceptions and two lost fumbles is not gonna cut it against anyone. This is the worst I have seen our offense play this year. Some of that credit goes to the Govs Defense. The stupid penalties on offense have to stop. We also need to settle on 1 QB and stick with him so he can get some confidence. Gotta hand it to the Gov's, they came to our house with their backs against the wall and whipped us. See you in the playoffs govs
