  1. Jeff Barnes who does the broadcasts for White Co. has a morning Radio show in McMinnville and he said he spoke to Duke said it was a bruised hip and expects Delaney to play Friday night. He also said he busted a blood vessel on his hip and that was the reason he was carted off the court.
  2. I too was wondering his condition.
  3. I thought we needed two high schools at one time but now I am not for sure it would be the answer. I have thought about what White Co. does and have one middle school for the whole county and get them familiar with a larger school, because the SOME of the kids from the county schools have the hardest time adjusting. On the other hand that would create one of the largest uproars in the county due to parents not wanting to give up the county schools. Which, I would not want to be a school board member in a district of one of the county schools if it were to happen. I think that the best possible outcome would be a continuation of the 9th grade acadamy and create Hickory Creek Elementry (which is on the campus of WCHS) as a total 9th grade wing. This way the 9th grade will still be associated with Warren Co. High and can still use the facilities the varsity teams use. This will eventually result in building a new elementry school. Although, we will just have to wait and see what happens. That is my opinion and I know a lot of people probably won??™t agree with me, but that is what make s this country great isn??™t it.
  4. You are right Nitro. Those were some lean years and it didn't help that we had 3 head coaches in 6 years either. Cumberland Co. you guys will be fine I can see why some of the athletes went to Stone I drove by the new school the other day when I was traveling. It is a very nice school with good facilities.
  5. 97 is right. I haven't heard anything about the middle school coach either, it is kind of puzzling.
  6. I wasn't at the game Friday, man I missed alot. I think that the boys are right there and that one district win would lift the biggest burden off their shoulders so they can build confidence. It will happen this year. Keep working hard boys.
  7. Game time tonight at 6:30 Good luck to both teams. I wish I could be at the game but I will be out of town.
  8. I will bring this back to the Warren Co. Thread since this is what we are talking about. One, I think that the youth football program right now is the best run program in Warren Co. the once very strong JC basketball and WCYB have fallen to the wayside. That is why the McMinnville parks and recreation will take over Youth baseball next year and start their own basketball league in the future. I don't know about football yet. I also think that it is lack of interest for some of the kids. I know that this is not with all parents but with some they will use the youth league as a babysitting service for a couple hours a week, (Like I said that is not with all.) and when they get to the middle school and high school level they didn't really like sports to begin with that is why we have a lot of numbers. Which is a lack of support from home which every child needs not just one who plays sports? Also, when they get into high school there are so many different things to get into their heads some get burned out by negativity due to other students telling they stink, and others all they want is a vehicle, and most of them feel if they get a car then they have to get a job to pay for the gas insurance etc.. There are a number of different things that discourage kids to play sports I just don't know if I have all the answers.
  9. No, but I have watched many games due to relatives and friends. I remember when this some of this senior class was playing youth football. I am an advocate for youth sports in Warren Co. I think that is how we will build our success in all sports.
  10. Nice pic /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  11. Thanks Friend, I thought that you weren't directing it all towards me. I do think for the most part Warren Co. and Coffee Co. will make another step to being at the top of the region next year or the year after. Warren Co.'s youth program has really helped spark interest for future players. I don't know how your youth program is working but I feel that is one of the keys to our recent success.
  12. I would say that the schedule will be about the same. They mostly have Two year agreements with teams I think that we will still play Dekalb Co. Tullahoma White Co., Ensworth I am not sure of and of course our region opponents.
  13. I never said that we would beat you, you just took my post personal. I truly think that Warren Co. and Coffee Co. are similar in all sports. You are right you have dominated us in past years. I recall a couple years ago Warren Co. finished in front of Coffee Co. and Coffee Won the game.
  14. Lincoln Co. will be at the top even though the graduated 19 Seniors they had a lot of Juniors to get some PT and Cookeville will return two good QB's but I don't know who all they are brining back and the rest of the region seems to be a toss up. If I had to make a prediction it would look something like this, with the top four as playoff teams. Lincoln Co. Cookeville Warren Co. Coffee Co. Franklin Co. Cumberland Co.
  15. If Warren Co. can clamp down on Carter I think they have a real good chance of winning.
  16. Go Rebels!!! From a McKenzie fan in Warren Co.
  17. In the game I saw against Cookeville the JV team looked good at times, but could not pick up the blitz that well which forced the QB's to be pressured. This will be the second year for the Bond kid to play the Position but I like his athleticism and build I think that he is around 6'1" or 2. The Thrower boy is a decent size and has been playing QB since Middle School. The Stegg boy's height could be a disadvantage for him to see over the line I believe he is only 5'5" which I am not taking away from his ability he put together a couple of good drives when he was playing. So it will really be determined in winter workouts and spring practice who is the starter next year.
  18. Anyone know who one the Blackman vs Independence game?
  19. I believe at a JV game this year they played Stegg, Cameron Bond, and Thrower at QB
  20. You are right, I thought I saw something click at the end of the Coffee Co. game with the boys. I think they are ready to win. I hope they continue to improve all season
  21. You can also look at it like this we have two wins this year, and didn't get our second win last year till Dec. 21
