Uh Oh!!!! Things don't look good for CHEATham Central

With Cheatham likely being seeded seventh they only get one pick on the all-district team. Who will it be?

Don't be so quick to assume that Harpeth is fully behind this. The better chance is that dissension within CCHS was the result.

When you play with fire you get burned. The folks at CCHS knew this girl and others were coming strict to play basketball. It falls entirely upon the administration to make sure all eligibility rules are followed. Jealousy may be involved, however the jealousy probably rests right on the CCHS basketball team. When you bring players in and other sit it will cause problems. It is hard to feel sorry for this team. You make your bed and you have to lie in it.

Kind of hard to be Coach of the Year with a 2 and 20 record.

Waverly wins by 14. 59-45 I believe. Waverly had a 22-1 lead at the end of the first. Seem to put it on cruise control the rest of the game. Creekwood could not throw it in the ocean for most of the game. Record number of airballs. Even layups.

I don't think Waverly cheated. Perhaps you mean you did not agree with the officials and their decisions.

Northside wins by 17. Four point difference at the half. 11 at the end of the third quarter. 11 points with 3 minutes to play. Great effort by Waverly. Definitely showed they can hold their own with Northside. If Waverly hits their free throws this a 6 point game with 3 to go. I believe this will be a very interesting game when Northside goes to Waverly on the 10th. If you missed this one, you need to be at Waverly on the 10th.

In the first half other than Leonard's shooting no one played well. Defense was poor as the Tigers give up 49 pts. in the first half. Second half was a whole different story as the Tigers outscore HC 28-8. Press was very effective and Ricco turned things up several notches. Leonard shot well the whole game and Curtis finds the range in the second half. Great hustle shown by DJ on the press. Ricco suffers from cramps in the third quarter and the Tigers miss several free throws in the closing minutes, otherwise this would have been a double digit win. Good win.

Waverly wins easily over Stewart County. Slopply second quarter and pulling the starters at the end of the 3rd kept the Tigers from hitting triple digits. Never seen so many technicals. 5 in all.

Very good game by both teams. Tigers win with a balanced offense. Ricco and Curtis show up big in the 4th. Gritty inside work by Hollis and Reeder. Some timely 3's by Leonard. Overall a good team win over a physical team. One more comment. What is the Official's supervisor for this area thinking? Sending two officials to a rivalry game with two talented and physical teams. Then adding to the situation by sending two of the weaker officials for this association. Officiating was horrible. Horrible both ways, but horrible none the less. Also some of the shots by number 32 on Dickson you have to question. Without a doubt his shot selection hurt the Cougars chances tonight.

Dr. Swamptiger says its hurt. Actually twisted it a couple of weeks ago and it has not healed completely yet.

Tigers started slow, but outscored HC 41-21 in the second half. Leonard had 18 pts. with 6 3's. Ricco dished the ball well. DJ shut Bell down as the Tigers went small in their starting lineup. Bell had only 7 pts.

Sycamore won by about 9. Pierce had a very good game. Was back and forth all game until last four minutes when Sycamore pulled away.

But, there are at least two in Waverly showing it was clearly a 3 point shot. Either way if you watch the video very closely the ref responsible to call whether the shot is a 3 or 2 is not even watching the shooter. He then proceeds to run to the trailing official who never made it past half court and asks What He Saw!!!!! This is incredibly inept officiating!!!! Now were left with a great game that was decided by the refs and not the Kids!!!! I have no clue who would have won in OT but thats where the game should have finished, not at the score's table with three clueless officials. As far as the Perry County Coach he was on court and Bubba had to avoid him to get up court!!!! So let not argue about coaches and class!!!!! Love the game, one to talk about for a long time. But again referees should call a game not control its outcome. Best of Luck to both teams in the Playoffs!!!!

No one is saying Perry County is not a good team. They are well coached and perform. No one is taking that away from them. They game was tremendous to watch. Two very good and entertaining teams. The point is the calling was terrible. 27 to 5 FTs. is incredible especially when you consider Perry County pressed most of the game. Waverly's coacht is T'd for complaining about a terrible call, while Perry Counties coach roams the sidlines and the court (numerous times) and nothing is done. But the bottom line the call at the end of the game is total incompetence and there will be no one held accountable for it. Those three gentlemen should not be allowed to call a varsity game any time soon. Again, the Perry county boys are an excellent team, but I don't think you can argue that this very young (three soph. and a junior out of the top seven) have not improved greatly this year. No one should have to deal with incompentence, but when their is no accountability for that incompetence that is shameful. Great game to watch but a shame it had to end that way.

The last shot was a three!!!! The refs had no clue they called a two and tucked tail an ran. Plus, Bubba is foul on the shot. Should have been three plus one to win the game. Nichols was tremendous with 37 points, took over in the 3rd and 4th quarters. Number of free throws was terribly one sided. Something in the neighbor of 20+ for Perry county and 5 or so for Waverly. I thought the refs in our area were bad. These guys were bad and then some. Great game Tigers, take it out on Houston County on Friday night!!!

Let's enjoy the fact that both Humphreys County schools are enjoying fine season. If you want to dog someone then pick an opponent from another school. We are never going to know who would beat who if they played, because they don't. Waverly has made that offer several times for several years and its always refused. Thats McEwen's choice and that is fine. So for now let's just enjoy the fact that there are two quality teams in our county.

Waverly beats West Carroll 60-53. Not their best game, a little rusty, but pulled it through in the end. Way to go guys!!!
