  1. I agree with about 95% of what you said, but if I remember correctly the officials changed the down to 3rd down where it should have been. Now, it took them over 15 minutes to fix it, but they did. Unless, you're referring to a different situation. I think MBA's coach even called a timeout because he was so ticked...
  2. What does this have to do with whether or not the player was out of bounds? It doesn't matter if Maplewood had 10 opportunities after the onside kick, that play happened and it affected the outcome of the game. I'm not partisan, I have no ties to Maplewood whatsoever. I appreciate a good football game and that's what I got. As a matter of fact, my son and I were at the game for the first half and then we went home to watch the remainder... I have no dog in the hunt.
  3. You may be wearing your big red colored glasses. There were plenty of Maplewood people making an issue out of it. After talking with a few of them on the phone after the game, that was something that kept coming up. There were a few of us watching the stream online and all six of us said the same thing when it happened. Regardless of where the people on the sideline were standing we could still see where the sideline began. Now, maybe for the sake of convenience you didn't want to see the sideline - lol. If that's the case, I totally understand. Speaking of the officials having a pretty good view of what happened - I'm pretty sure the official had a pretty good view of the field when clearly an incomplete shovel pass was ruled a fumble. Let's not give the refs the benefit of the doubt in this one.
  4. 1. The onside kick was not possessed in bounds. I was watching the game online and probably had a better vantage point than people that were actually at the game. I understand why the MBA fans would want to say it was in bounds (fans of the team) but, from my view the kid that possessed the ball had a foot out of bounds. 2. deepsouth - It cracks me up when people spew insults on a message board. I guess you have sense of security because you can hide behind a screen name and a keyboard. Let's grow up a little bit, ok? 3. Great job by MBA fighting back after some adversity. You guys have a very tough football team and should have another successful year if everyone stays healthy.
  5. I'm in pretty much the same position. They only team I haven't seen is Brentwood. The reason i picked them is solely based on what I've seen from Hunter's Lane.
  6. I'm gonna go with Brentwood & Maplewood. Both games are going to be tough

  8. Make no mistake about it, UT would have loved to have McAdoo. As a matter of fact they did recruit him but he chose to go to NC. All of their big guys can run and their guards can shoot it. Williams, in my opinioin, is the most underrated player on the team. He can fill it up. The thing that people don't talk about is their defense. They really get after you and create turnovers. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  9. Antioch really shoots the three well. Their big guys get a lot of publicity, but their guards can shoot the lights out. If you zone them, you will get demolished on the glass. It's a lot harder to rebound out of a zone.
  10. I get a chance to watch a lot of teams in the midstate area. In my opinion, they are a lot better playing up and down than they are at slowing it down running sets. When they slow it down, they love to get the high/low action with their two big guys. Defensively, they play man and zone. In my opinion they are better in man because they all are so athletic and quick. When they are in zone they seem to get lazy and they (like many other teams) don't rebound well out of the zone. I've seen them extend the zone and trap out of it a couple of times this year and it seemed to work pretty well for them. They have good size and as mentioned above they are very athletic. In my opinion, they are the only team in nashville that can actually match up with Antioch, but they don't have that killer instinct that Antioch does. Overall, I think they are a good team, but still one year away from being great.
  11. Man those games were always ridiculous. Those Pearl-Cohn teams were loaded. With Slay, "Tall Drank" Caldwell & Baby Shaq, nobody wanted to play against that front line. Wasn't James Stewart on that Whites Creek team. I'm getting hype just thinking about those games.
  12. Go head to head tonight. If you're not doing anything, come out and check out a pretty entertaining ball game. I think Antioch will win, but Maplewood is playing well right now.
  13. That crap is starting to get on my nerves.
  14. I definitely think they are for real. They have all of the ingredients it takes to be a state bound team. Mtown said it right, it's all about discipline for them. Friday will be a pretty good test for them. They go to Maplewood and Maplewood's playing really well right now. Antioch whipped them pretty good the first time, but Maplewood had most of their players out due to football.
  15. I was there and I thought he was going to touch the top of the glass. Seriously, it was amazing.
