  1. Have you located a 125 pounder to complete your roster? Being from TN I'm not familiar with any of the names on the list with the exception of Carlos Calloway. A few questions. Is this a Div I and Div II Dual Tournament with the teams wrestlig in seperate divisions? Are you open to inviting other TN wrestlers to join the line up as alternates/subs? Are these some of the best Div II wrestlers in GA?
  2. That's true. From what I hear he's living in Texas or California. Not sure how accurate the info.
  3. What's the line up for the Middle TN and Chattanooga Teams? Are they going to be posted anytime soon?
  4. I agree! Adrian Norfleet was not only best takedown wrestler but most certainly ranks in the Top 5 of the best wrestlers to have ever wrestled in Tennessee.
  5. I'm officiating on all 32 mats at the same time! I suppose you'll be wrestling on all 32 mats at the same time! LOL!!!
  6. Are any of Tennessee's Freshman and Sophmore State Champions and Placers going to make the trip to the Freshman/Sophmore Nationals in Virginia Beach March 31st? Ohio Tournament of Champions? If interested the links are below. http://www.nhsca.com http://www.ohiotofc.com/

  8. Having seen Cameron wrestle since the days of the Future Champions with the Copperheads; it's great to see that he's getting that kind of recognition! Congratulations Cameron and Jim I know you've got to be extremely proud!
  9. I agree that there are so many other sites in which to hold the State Tournament. The site of the TSSAA State Duals and Individuals should be rotated every four years to either a neutral location or a host school. The question is should the State Duals and Individuals both be held at the same location/site during each four period? There could be a site rotation starting in the 2009-2010 season with Chattanooga hosting until the conclusion of the 2011-2012 season. In the interim the powers to be with the collective input of the coaches across the state can be determining another suitable location for the 2012-2016 seasons. By evaluating the success of the McKenzie Arena site as well as its shortcomings/limitations as a guide in determining what would best for the wrestlers, coaches and the fans. I'm certain there are suitable sites in Middle TN, East TN and West TN that can more than accomodate the TSSAA State Tournament. This in my opinion would help promote the sport even by making it accessbile to communities across the state and provide a fair solution to the many concerns people have over the same location(s) each year.

  11. Is Nelson in the 8th or 9th grade right now?
  12. It seems as tough Father Ryan and Brentwood Academy will meet for the second time this season in the Semi-Finals of the Div. II State Duals. It should make for some really good wrestling tomorrow as things kick off at 11 am.
  13. Congrats to Kaleb! He will no doubt make a great addition to the CB Team as a 9th grader next season.
  14. The BA and McCallie match-up could go either way. I think that the Memphis Bro's will make it past MBA to face the True Big RED, Baylor. No offense to MBA of course. I'm certain the consensus is that we will see Ryan vs Baylor in the finals. Ryan will need to wrestle TUFF against a Baylor Team that could win every match-up from 112 to 130 and again at 145. Depending on the outcome of the BA and McCallie match up we may see BA vs CBHS in the Consolation Finals for 3rd and 4th.
  15. The State Duals Schedule is now posted at the link below: http://www.tssaa.org/2008Champions/StateDu...DIISchedule.pdf I believe these are the teams and possible match-ups for the Div II State Duals. Top Bracket The Baylor School vs Brentwood Academy McCallie vs MUS Bottom Bracket Montgomery Bell Academy vs Christian Brothers Father Ryan vs St. Benedict
  16. Past Teams from the GP West Brentwood Tournament McCallie Soddy Daisy Franklin Notre Dame Brentwood Overton Ravenwood Rhea County Cookeville Fort Campbell Cleveland McGavock Blackman Antioch David Lipscomb Montgomery Central Hillwood Clarksville NE Sycamore Smyrna Hillsboro Page
  17. Predictions for Ryan Finals. The key word is Prediction! 152 Justin Cash vs Patrick Marchetti ( If they both stay at 152, We're looking at the DII State Finals early) 160 Daniel Todd vs ?? (Others to Watch: William Ball) 171 Wes Wesley vs ?? 189 Cameron Croy vs Jackie Miller (Others to Watch: Mix) 215 Watson Sweat vs Taylor Brasher or ?? (Others to Watch: 285 Ryan Carothers vs ?? (Others to Watch: 103 Carlos Calloway vs Johnson or Mosley (Others to Watch: Ben Smith and Alex Ward) 112 Blake Thomas vs Johnny Maurizi or Boswell (Others to Watch: 119 Kendall Ray vs Overmeyer or Hathaway (Others to Watch: 125 Daniel Baucke vs Michael Hooker (Others to watch: 130 Cody Austell vs Chase Brannon or Jeremy Miller 135 Hanniford vs ?? (Others to Watch: 140 TJDuncan vs ?? (Others to Watch: 145 ?? vs ??
  18. He's a well put together HW. He moves in one direction off the whistle and thats straight ahead. I'd like to see the top ranked HW on the DI side match up with Carothers from the DII side in a match.
  19. What a shame to risk ones potential of a being a State Champion and damaging your character in the process.
  20. I think with Hooker having lost to Cole Hayes he's certain to drop to 125 by the Ryan Tournament as well as the State Tournament. This is only speculation of course.
  21. Indy and Brentwood Academy looked very strong yesterday. Interesting to see Justin Cash at 152 with him ranked at 160. Fouth from Tullahoma and Dupree from BA both wrestled strong yesterday as well. I thought Calloway was at 112 and was looking forward to a possible match with the Antioch 112 but discovered Calloway has dropped to 103.
  22. What happened to Hooker and Duncan? I see Chase wrestled well!
  23. I believe a case can be made for stalling on both sides. BA's 215 pounder did stall the same as Ryan's 103 pounder did the entire 3rd period. Having seen Cash wrestle as high as 160 this season and win. I seriously doubt the kid would be running from Marchetti. Did you ever consider that perhaps he had every intention on wrestling Miller at 152? I don't know one way or the other simply posing the question. So, are you saying he avoided one good wrestler just to face another good wrestler? Hmmmm... Interesting! If I'm not mistaken Miller is the top ranked 152 pounder in the state. Of course there's always the chance that Marchetti could opt to go 145 and face Cash in the TSSAA State Tournament. But something tells me he'd much rather face Bellet of MBA for a chance to when the state title. I suppose we'll have to wait for the Big Show to see how this plays out...
