I have watched Farragut play many times over the years. Sitting in the stands you hear parents and relatives constantly riding their son to shoot ever time they get in the game. You can not do that coaches now what parents do in the stands and they hear more then you think. If parents would leave their children and let them play the game that the coach wants them to play, they could possibly win. You can sit and yell at your child and tell them what they need to do and that they need to listen to you, but you don't control their playing time. Dodgen and Cool have both been in the coaching game for a while and neither one are going let parents control their team. All schools especially in the Knox County area are having issues with parents thinking they can control from the stands. Its never their child's fault for not getting to play its the coaches. Well you don't know what your child is doing in practice either. People need to go back to the day where you work hard for what you want, not I'll give you money to fix it or if you don't play my child I'll get you fired. More and more coaches are getting out of it because parents take all the fun out of the game.

Just becasue the team does not have any D-1 players does not mean they can not compete with Bearden. There is just as much talent in the whole team for Farragut to Bearden's 4 D-1 players. And why does it matter how may state championships or appearances a team has? That has nothing to do with the game. The team that comes out ready to play and plays as a team will win the game. Whether or not the team has D-1 players or not

Coach Parkey is one of the best coaches around. If he steps down it will be a great lose to district 2. He is one of the few coaches who does not be little the player on the floor. I have had the joy to play against him at Claiborne. He would always come over to me and tell me how much he enjoyed watching me play. He will be missed in the basketball world.

Who were the other ALL-TOURNEY selections?

Picks for District 1 and 2: District 1 1) Elizabethton 2) Unicoi County 3) Volunteer or South Greene District 2 1) Claborine 2) Cumberland Gap 3) Pigeon Forge/ Gatlinburg Pittman

Claborine and Cumberland Gap should be up there at the top. And GP will be pretty good with Radier coaching them. Union needs a little help in the coaching area. There is talent there but no one to help mold it.

How is Pigeon Forge going to be this year? They only have two returning starters. (Rayfield and Ramsey) Half of their team scoring is gone since Dodgen, Garrison, and Newman graduated. Along with a steady point guard. How will thay match up with Claborine and the other teams? Union Co. will be a cake walk for them just because of Rayfield and Ramsey.
