I never denied the loses, but our program will get better also, and I do not think it will take that much to catch up with CA. Now to catch up to the better teams in our district like Westmoreland, Gordensville and Watertown, that will take some time and work. I think we can catch up to CA by next year, if we keep improving, building on what Coach Palmer is teaching the girls. It is MY opinion that the next time we see CA, it will be no blowout. I see the scores where CA gets their butts whipped pretty good too, So I think they have some catching up to do also. In anycase, tonight, Culleoka by 5.

All kidding aside, I do not think you can pick games by comparing how one team did against another team that you played. It is a a consideration, but you also have to consider matchups. MJCA had a hard time with CA's post game, but Culleoka will not. I do have an opinion after watching both teams play, I think Culleoka by 5.

Different day, even though we lost, I was not impressed by CA. I think Culleoka has better players. I seen them both play, so I have an opinion. I think we can beat CA now, of course we will never know, maybe next year we will get another crack at them , or summer camp.

Looks like it is worth the price of admission! I would like to read this thread after a game like that.

If your personel restricts it, then sometimes the half-court games is the only option. Then it becomes a desperation thing when you get behind. I like to watch the teams that are good at, especially when you see a new wrinkle.

In the MJ system, they learn it in Middle school, this is another reason they are good at it. It is true, team speed, team depth and the ability to do it are all valid considerations.

MJ has the personel to do it, and they do it very well. Another team who uses the full court press very well is DCA. I thought Harpeth Hall did a very good job with the full court press when I watched them last year. I would bet there are a lot of teams that utilize it.

I figured this was the case, he didn't look like a lame duck coach to me. seems like he is doing a good job. Someone is always going to have a problem with the coaching method. My observation was, the girls respond to him, and they play hard.

You probably know better than I. Only seen them twice, but they are one of the top two or three in the district so far, so he must be doing something right.

You say it comes from some pretty reliable sources, and follow it up with " if it is true"! they must not be that reliable after all. Watching from the outside, it seems like he coaches like he is going to be there awhile. He is always coaching the young ones, and all the girls on his team seem to play hard for him. I would question this.

Tight the first half, MJ wins by 2-4 points. MJ pressures guards all night, to make it a full court game, BUT if WC can turn it into a half-court game, then they have the advantage. I expect the pressure from MJ will prevent this, and they win this first match.

Now this is more like it! Someone finally stepped up and got the hype going! As I said above, I like defense, and MJ can play defense.

It made MJ look a whole lot better having her in the lineup. Treveca got a fine point guard. Congrats to her.

Parents are too used to rec. ball where they watch practice from the stands and grumble about the coach. Most have no clue and is usually obvious in a casual conversation. Then, their child makes the school team, then they find it is not the same deal! I agree, this is what they get paid for, and if they let parents tell them how to do their job or influence their decisions, then they won't be there very long, unless the institution likes losing.

The MJ Bears are successful because the coach closes practices and cares less about what the parents think. They also do this at the Middle School level! They play who they think is the best players and sit or cut those who do not produce, regardless of who the parent is.

As Saint fan, I witnessed MJCA's win and I would have to agree that this is no top 10 team. I take nothing from my team, but looking at this team objectively, I say no way.

I watched MJ for only the second time this season. As always, they played good fundemental basketball. The only concern I seen was the rebounding, there were some opportunities on the boards, I thought they did not rebound well. In any case, throw out the records, this will be worth every penny. I will go with my heart and say MJ by 2. I say this because I love defense, and MJ can play defense.
