  1. UC has hit about 11 three's and forced about 20 turnovers. This game is rediculous!! GO UC!
  2. check out unapproved website.com (m a x p r e p s . c o m just in case it blocks the URL). they have good statistics. UC has a pretty deep bench too.
  3. I like the smack talk...but digits isn't spelled diggetts... /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />
  4. Thanks for setting the facts straight. Like I said before, I was going on what I'd heard word-of-mouth, so I wanted to see if anyone knew for sure. I just heard that his fans showed their butts and he finally got fed up with these people that think they're the coach and decided to let them put their money where their mouths were. And as for Whitby's coaching reputation, I know he's a feared one...gets success from any program he's involved with. As for the game...I hope UC finally gets a blowout win over LC...the past couple games have been down to the wire.
  5. Plus after the fans jawed about coach Whitby not winning against UC, he basically walked out on the team and didn't coach last Saturday. I don't know if he coached last night. And I've also heard he or someone in his family is having some sort of medical treatment or surgery Monday night. Sounds like his fan base has made him mad and his family might need him Monday night. Anyone have better facts than my assumptions?
  6. MJ and the Tornadoes play tomorrow night in UC...
  7. Did I miss something? Wasn't this game cancelled? There is a score to the game on both team's schedule...but they never played...right?
  8. UC leads 92-84 at end of regulation....I think that means they won. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  9. It's hard to beat a team three times in one season. Can UC do it to Humboldt? P.S. UC scored over 100 pts nine times last year but it took until last night to break 100 this season in their 114-86 win over Halls. Think UC is just now playing its best ball?
  10. i have a friend that went to school with Jurik and he said he isn't that good...just big.
  11. I know this isn't high school related, but I thought this needed to be shared. Lake Co. fans, listen up! Lake Co. middle school girls beat Union City...65-7, yes...65-7. I hope the paper had a misprint, but I doubt it. What a whoopin'! I'm UC alumni, but man that's bad. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  12. First off, I don't think I say anything about Trenton beating Lake Co., but if I did, my bad. Secondly, I think it's goofy to say "tha U" so your post was fun to read. Maybe I've been out of school too long, but "tha U" is post-my-era. And for a new point, I think District 14 1A is the most competitive area of the state with 1A ball...I could be wrong, but when you have 3 teams in the top 4 of the first AP poll, my argument is pretty strong. Oh, and I know UC still has to play Lake Co., but does Humboldt and Lake Co. hook up again in the regular season?
  13. EXACTLY!! /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  14. no, i'm talking about the guy with the collared shirt on...not the coach. he came out of the stands and the stats girl was chewing him out seven ways from sunday. all i could see was her hair bouncing around from the head popping around as she gave him a piece of her mind. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  15. I'll start by saying that the strength of schedule is a key factor. Both have to play basically the same district schedule, but look at the games outside the district. Humboldt lost to 1A Middleton and AA Bolivar Central...decent teams to lose to, but still loses. A win against 2A Milan, but has a losing record. Three wins against 2A Gibson County, one close win...Gibson County has a 4-11 record. Three wins against a good 1A team, Trenton Peabody, two very close games...Peabody has a 9-6 record. The only quality win I can see is the win against Lake County, but they will meet again. A respectable schedule, at best. Now lets look at UC. First of all, they're 19-0 and have beaten Humboldt 2 out of 2 times this year (don't start with the last year crap...that was last year). UC has also won at least 2 tournaments this year, one of which UC beat a 5A team from AR, a "Mid 6" team from MO (I assume that's a big school), and a 5A-AAAAA team from GA. The AR team is 7-4 now, MO team is 7-3, and GA team is 11-3. Not too shabby, right? Plus, a 5-5 2A team, Jackson South Side...a 10-7 2A team, Mitchell...a 5-7 3A team, Mt. Juliet...a 12-5 2A teams, Sycamore...and a 15-4 2A team, Livingston Academy. So UC won a in-state tourney against a 3A and two 2A teams...then won a prestigious Poplar Bluff, MO tournament against huge school from three different states, all of whom still have a winning record. Now I may be biased because I graduated from UCHS, but if you take out biases and look at the stats, I think you can see who the better team is...apparently the AP does...as does unapproved website.com, which has UC ranked #4 in the entire state and Humboldt 63rd. yeah, that was pretty funny when the stat girl was chewing out the man that was talking to her about that mysterious point. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  16. How about Marcus Williams? What's your opinion on him?
  17. Alright, I've enjoyed reading all the smack talk between Humboldt and UC fans so I thought I'd start a fresh thread on it...let the fun begin. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  18. Through the Humboldt game is past Tuesday, UC shooters are: MJ Brown - 44 Nik Brooks - 26 (i think he's a post player too) BJ Marshall - 24 Andre Coby - 24 Ryne Simpson - 20 Lavan Mosley - 19 Tony Wilkins - 7 KJ Brooks - 3 Pat Polk - 4 Cameron Callicot - 3 So whoever said you can close your eyes and point to a picture of the team was right. I know only five can start but six have atleast 19...that's impressive...these are only 32 minute games right?
  19. I wish I could've been at Poplar Bluff. Little ole single A UC beating a team that is 7-4 in Arkansas 5A, a 7-3 team in "Mid 6 Region" in Mizzou (I don't know what Mid 6 that means, but I assume it is a big school), and a 12-3 team that is a 5A-AAAAA team in Georgia...that's alot of A's, compared to UC's one A. Plus the wins over TN AA and AAA teams, twice against AP #2 Humboldt, and once over Lake Co. at "the prison". I don't see how some people can say they have a weak schedule. And now many tournaments have they won this year? 2 or 3?
  20. What about Trey Pearson? He was playing as a true freshman in the SEC. Great shooter from single A school (South Fulton). He had a ride at Ole Miss but transferred to Murray State, then got in trouble with drugs so he doesn't play anywhere now. I think I'd rather have a great career at a small school (like UTM) then go to a SEC school but be known as a kid that blew it (no pun intended).
  21. Last night in the Humboldt, Union City game. I was pulling for UC, but this guy from Humboldt, #34 I think...I know it wasn't #33, threw down an extended arm dunk in the face of a UC defender that was between the Humboldt player and the rim. I'm pretty sure he got fouled too, but I'm not sure. The Humboldt player just out jumped the UC player and literally threw the ball into the goal as he slammed it home. It was pretty nice, but UC still won. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  22. They have to go through Union City, they won't go to "The Boro".
