  1. Not many restaurants in Selmer, but Los Aztecas and Smokey Joe's Barbecue is always good. Crazy K Steakhouse in Eastview is also good. They do half price appetizers before and after the game and you can definitely make a meal off those.
  2. Not to sound rude but baseball has advanced out of district 3 out of 4 the last four years and have a 90-61 record over those same four years, so don't bash Coach Franks and the baseball program.
  3. I believe the intent of this thread has changed from its original intent. A lot people in this thread want to bash everything being done. I have been a fan of McNairy Central ATHLETICS (not just football) for a long time and have attended countless games. What I have seen in the last two months is something that has been missing for years in this program - a fire to become better. Everyone is quick to point out negative things about the program and does not want to have any praise, so I will give them some praise. The kids are excited to be playing football and are excited about having Coach Hodge as a coach. First, when I talk to a player one of the first things I hear from them is how excited they are to be playing football. Next, I believe that Coach Hodge is a great hire for the program. His fire and excitement are becoming instilled in his players which is helping to build a strong work ethic leading to an improvement. Lastly don't single out McNairy's fan base/parents about politics among the program. There has never been a program in the history of sports that has made every person happy. A life lesson for you - You will NEVER make everyone you meet in life happy. Cardsfan - I wish Adamsville all the luck in the world, but how can you cast stones about the fan base/boosters at McNairy as if it does not go on at Adamsville. I will never believe that EVERY fan/booster associated with the AHS program is happy with every decision made. As I said in my life lesson - it is impossible for everyone to be happy all the time. If everyone got everything they wanted there would be no reason to improve. GreeHornet - I'm not sure what program you follow, but I have never seen a program succeed on talent alone. Sometimes a coach showing a player that he cares is all that player needs to see to help motivate them and to inspire them. I have no questions as to how McNairy's season will go. I believe they will succeed because they are putting in the effort and due diligence that is necessary to be successful. I hope that every program has as much success as possible this year and in the future.
  4. The tournament will be played at two sites: McNairy Central and Adamsville. 4 game guarantee NO ENTRY FEE Supply 3 balls per game
  5. We are looking for 2-4 teams for the Independent Appeal Classic on April 9-12. For more information email cmoore11688@yahoo.com or call/text 7316108781.
  6. Boys Bracket: Bethel Springs Allons Ezell-Harding Linden Red Boiling Springs Carroll Oakland Allardt Pin Oak Van Buren South Pittsburg Holy Rosary Dakalb West Hilham Pickett Co.
  7. Who do you think is the favorite to win in 2A? And any info on Allons or Ezell-Harding?
  8. Definately a big no. This years Liberty team is very talented, no doubt. Liberty, this year, is my pick to win the AA state championship even over Knox Fulton. However, that team back in 2007 was a team that doesn't come around West TN too often or even the whole state for that matter. Liberty finished ranked #17 in the country and played the #3 team in the nation, Mater Dei California, to a 4 point game. They also played Oak Hill Academy to like a 15 point game I believe. That Liberty team was definately one of, if not the best team to come through West TN. They were stacked from top to bottom! Ok. I was just wondering. I heard that this year was going to have the best team to come through Liberty and it got my curiosity up. I remember that team very well. They were in our district. It was even worse in the 2005-2006 season when Bolivar had Willie Kemp, Wayne Chism, Olajuwon Kemp, and Kedrick Madden. It seemed like we played for 3rd place those two years.lol. Although they did provide for some exciting basketball.
  9. Well put Butchie! I hate I didn't get to meet everybody at the flagpole.
  10. Also, comming is incorrect. It is spelled coming. And horriable? That's also wrong. It's spelled horrible.
  11. And dude, don't say anything about a player being horrible because your grammar was horrible in this post. I have a 3.9 GPA in college and it took me 10 minutes to understand what you were babbling about. So I'm to take time out studying to give you an English lesson. Here we go: A-vill? wrong. A-ville has an E at the end. Adamsvill? wrong again. It also has an E at the end. Dosen't? No. Doesn't. sportsman like? No again. It's sportsmanlike(It's called a compound adjective) LOOSE? Come on man. It's lose with one O. Maybe this English lesson has made you a better person. And as for purposely hurting other players, a McKenzie player did step on an Adamsville player's hand and possibly broke it, but the McKenzie player laughed about it. To me that didn't show very good sportsmanship either. But what do I know? You seem to have all the answers? We'll test your critical thinking skills with this: Do you think that the McKenzie player's actions were justifiable? Have a great day and I hope this enjoyed these English and critical thinking lessons!
  12. dude. how old are you? Someone said something about real men(and I don't remember who said it)but a real man wouldn't get on here and bash and call out a high school kid. He hasn't done anything like this in career and like I said earlier the dirty play happened both ways. You're talking about punishment, maybe the McKenzie kid that might broken a kid's hand and laughed about it should be suspended or kicked off. Do I condone dirty play? NOT AT ALL. But like I have already said, McKenzie was no team of saints they threw some cheap shots and late hits too.
  13. you wonder if he did it on purpose???? are u serious.. he stood over him in front of 4 thousand fans and gouged his eyes out ON PURPOSE.. Do u think he didnt mean to??? lets get serious he did it on purpose everyone saw it and that wasnt his only play like that. that were throwing cheap shots all game! when u are getting whooped it is frustrating!!! our undersized Line didnt do too bad Huh!!! First of all congratulations to McKenzie for a big win. They are the real deal. Trousdale Co. will have their hands full next week! Even though gouging his eyes was uncalled for I have to say that there was a lot of dirty play on McKenzie's part. There were several plays that an Adamsville player retaliated in defense but we all know that the one that throws the second punch gets caught. Somebody must have gouged you in the eye if you didn't see that. And while we're gouging eyes, somebody must have gouged the referees in the eyes because they let a lot of dirty play happen and while it wasn't the game changer the blatant facemask that Adamsville's number 5 got on the interception was very evident. When a facemask is held for 6 seconds and no flag is thrown that's a problem. I think McKenzie is a great team but will have to eliminate the penalties next week if they want to beat a very strong trousdale team.
  14. Butchie, this is probably the first thing we've agreed about on this board.lol. As it get's closer to game time, it seems like the more we all realize that we're a lot alike. All the McKenzie fans are dang proud of their team and the Adamsville fans feel the same way. If McKenzie wins, I will be on here to congratulate them on a good win and will also be smacktalking whoever y'all play. These two teams are filled with talented players and the only thing that could make this game better is if they didn't have to meet in the quarterfinals. I have also met some pretty cool people on these boards. It's been a fun week and will definitely be a fun one next week. I have also enjoyed it. I'll be at the flagpole tomorrow at 6 and hope to see and meet everyone that has been talking smack all week.
  15. sweet. open to everyone or just mckenzie fans? All who wish to attend. They usually met about 30 mins before the game but I think I heard butchie say he was going to be there around 6 this week. I try to get there around 15 mins before game time because I watch my kids during warmups. Alright. Sounds good. I guess I'll see everyone there.
