  1. I want to see that Class A team out of Florida...After all Scottie says they should be about like a Group A team out of Virginny....HA HA HA... Scottie is a real pro about making statements in the paper, it ain't no wonder they ran him out of Nicklesville, VA.
  2. maroonandgray you're wasting your time. Ole VolMan is like a flag a flappin in the wind...one week he blames it on the coaching the next he blames it on the players...They accomplished about what they were going to accomplish...Powell never was the player everyone thought he was going to be, his brother will be the same way it appears. Injuries killed them...no heart, no desire. They were lucky to win the games they did. Baily will be good if people like VolMan stay out of his head
  3. Don't want or need your respect. You called for the coaches head last year after they won 20 games?? This years South team would not have done any better than they did, no matter who the coach was. They had no talent. No inside post player. They only had one true athlete. The truth of the matter is this.....some Colonial Heights parents and fans are wrecking the basketball program... they sit in the stands or post on CoachT about how bad the coaching is. Same thing happened when Williams and Rogers coached out there, parents running their mouth. The parents put their little "next coming of Michael Jordan" in the car after the game and bad mouth either the refs, the coaching staff or "Little Mikey's" fellow teammates all the way home...this scrambles "little Mikey's" brain..after all he is a teenager with very little common sense..he hears Mommy and daddy crying and moaning all the time about his playinng time or so and so is playing ahead of me, then he's supposed to go out and contribute in a team sport?? it ain't happening...you've got about 3 on that team who are so selfish it's pathetic..Hopefully those that are selfish will quit or transfer....I guess we will see....coaches don't shoot the ball, they don't rebound, they teach and are supposed to be good role models...if the talent, heart and desire is not there then the wins will be few and far between. Coaches can't give you heart and desire, you have to have it in you.
  4. You're an idiot...you get on here and call for the South's coaches head two years in a row....then you post a comment like the one above. You don't know squat..it's good to see that most people on here can see through your idiotic posts.
  5. WOW Volmonica, not only are you a South sports expert and prognostigator, you're a private detective too!! You nailed me...I graduated from South with you in 1988.......now do you want to post some more of that info you have on me??? I'll tell the HubMaster you guys were asking about him.....Hey Volmonica, it's baseball season now. Isn't it time you go over to the baseball threads and talk about that great pitching you have over at South??? /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  6. He is at King. He was not eligible at the start of the season. I saw his name in the box score for the last game, so he must have become eligible. I do know CAP1 could shed some light on the subject if he wants. Weatherford is out 4-6 weeks with a broken wrist.
  7. King also has recruited 2 guys from Grand Tabernacle in the Bahamas. This team has been playing in the Arby's for the last few years.
  8. You don't have a little Johnny on those teams yet. ..I do pity the coach of the high school team when your children get in high school. I am sure they will go to South. I appreciate you trying to impress me with your basketball travels, but I got news for you. I been to places that you can't even find on a map to play and watch basketball. Big college, small college, high school and below. hey, enough about me..let's hear more about you. You've endeared yourself to everyone on this board....especially the DB fans..
  9. Yep, setting in the stands with the parents you'll hear that. You'll hear quite a bit from the parents because they all think little Johnny is the second coming of Jordan. Wonder what those parents say to little johnny on the way home in the car, or say to little Johnny when they get home? Bad mouthing the coaching staff, I guarantee it. Then the fans and parents wonder why the team does not finish 2nd in the conference?? Wonder why, must be the head coach... All part of the politics in coaching high school basketball, I suppose. Anyway to answer your question. I think Greenville would have been very competitive. The Big 9 would have been that much more exciting. Greenville has a very good team. DB fans can answer better than I about the freshman team. I believe they either won all their games or lost 1...I'm probably wrong about that. I read an article about them earlier. DB is going to be very good for the next few years. lots and lots of talent coming up, if those boys can keep their egos in check and play as a team they will be very good.
  10. That's a good decision on your part. I guess we better go warn Anthoney Richardson, he's a good guy too...looks like you'll be after his job too..no matter how many games he wins.
  11. Nope, not picking fights. Just replying to your asinine comments. By the way, my posts have been researched on here before. I have come on here and ribbed some DB fans and they have ribbed me back. I support any coach who won 20 games in a conference where the top 4 teams were so evenly matched. All the coaches who do that. CMO, Pendleton, Vaughn, Cutlip...kudos to all of you for the season you have had. I can see winning 20 games must not be a lofty goal for you Colonial Heights/Sullivan Gardens folks. You come on here saying you like coach, that coach is a good guy, you don't want to see him lose any money and then you disrespect him and call for his head? Be a man and walk up to him and tell him what a Sh***Y job he's done this year. I'm sure he would sit down and talk with you. I've never seen him turn anyone away yet.....even the parents who want to moan about little Johnnies playing time. You can even bring back up if you want...he's been tag-teamed recently. My opinion is...that's a little crappy on your part, to come on a public message board calling for the dismissal... PS--I'm a big ole boy
  12. 16-13 DB end of first..It's past my bedtime...sounds like your Indians are palying alright..good luck.
  13. You're right, you should not have started that on here. I guess if Harvey and Compton want to can him then they will.....does not really matter whether you like him or not......he's a better man than you could ever hope to be...of course, that's just my opinion..be careful out there around that baseball field.
  14. I am going to listen for a few minutes..I'll try to help you out for a few minutes..
  15. Bud, It has not started yet..Central won 85-70 over Jeff. Co. You can hear it online...
  16. I agree they have talent coming up, if Phillips plays next year..Spud was never a decent ball handler, all Spud wanted to do was run with everyone, try to Curly Neil his way through a full court press, and when he did manage to get the ball to half court he ran right to the corner where the little munchkin was trapped...turnover city...neither was Leeson....you know why?? they dribble the ball so hard and high, It's easy for a quick guy to pick their pocket..they were taught that early on and nobody will ever get that out of them. They will still be doing that when they are both playing church league ball....but yea...you have a great basketball mind..I can tell...maybe you should be the next coach??
  17. Yep,,let's see 21-11 this year, back to back regional appearances....nobody at all on the whole team..till Crowe was brought up..who could get the ball up the floor against pressure at all......you sound like a disgruntled parent to me....yep...I'm sure the none of the players on the team are at fault at all..
  18. Volman-you're so full of crap. They needed a Point Guard Change...nobody to bring the ball up the floor...that was evident at the first of the season and then game after game after game and you want to blame it on the coaching staff.....Please name the good young talent coming up???? Are you talking about good young talent on the freshman or B-team??? Or are you talking about what's coming out of Colonial Heights middle???
  19. that's the rumor....nothing announced..just a rumor.
  20. I agree....maybe they will put it together. Mo East does not have much but they got better as the season progressed.. You can't do anything with a bunch of teenagers these days. I know cause I helped raise one. He was stubborn as could be, must have got that off the ex... Very few are committed to going the extra mile, putting in more effort...all of them want to see their name in the paper, their mommies and daddies want to see them play, whether they can play or not. It's not like it was in the good old days, the days of the Upper Lakes...those were the days, guys stayed in the gym honing their skills...these days guys are worried about chest thumping, playing time, going out after the game....stuff like that. And we wonder why teams from Upper Northeast Tennessee rarely bring home the trophy from Murfreesboro.... The teams that have guys who are committed bring home the stuff, the ones who work hard....the rest just get to sit home and watch...
  21. You speak the truth. No post help for Hauldren and they had a decent point guard until he threw a hissy fit at the Arby's and decided to take it out on a chair, breaking his hand in the process. Point Guard loses his spot, then get's all mental because he lost his spot, then it's turnover city for him. So much talent on that team and all those guys on that team p**ssed the season away. The only guys who look like they want to be out there are Hauldren and Compton. Having said all that...you can't say to many bad things about a team that won over 20 games. They lost to Tn. High(20 game winner), Science Hill(20 game winner) Central(20 Game winner), DB(20 game winner), Henry Carr from Canada, A team from Alaska....the only game they really blew was the Boone game...
  22. no doubt...Oak Hill. Everyone always talks about the Lawson kid for Oak Hill...but the junior Michael Beasley is going to be something else..He already is. I saw Oak Hill at Va. High this year playing against BlueRidge Prep out of Charlottsville, Va. Blue Ridge has a good team..Oak Hill dominated.
  23. That's a new rumor..Tony Vaughn leaving Central to go to DB...I think DB will be looking for a bigger gun than Vaughn...they have went outside the area evern since the Buck Van Huss era...I don't see a coach from this area getting a vacant DB basketball head coaching job..
  24. Why don't he commit then?? great players don't just step it up against good competition, they take over the game, they dominate no matter who they play. Omar is the best player in the Big 9....put him up against the guys at Oak Hill...7 guys who have already committed to BIG D1 schools and lets see what he does. I ain't talking about ETSU, UTC, Tenn Tech or Appy State...I am talking the BIG D1 schools. Omar is good, but those guys are on a different level.....but Omar is just a Jr. He's got all summer to get that much bigger, that much better, and much smoother. I am not taking anything away from him.
  25. No way is Buchanan a D1 prospect....Omar is not either...this year, he may be next year....you want to see D1 players you better go watch Oak Hill...
