  1. 3 Players in a five to six year period of time justifies talent? Like I said earlier, who are they? Facts are facts, while coaching may not have have great, the talent has been terrible. No coach, not John Wooden or Pat Summitt could have won with the lack of talent Scott has produced recently. The team last year won nine games, not bad for the talent level. But, I will agree they should have been more competitive.
  2. Allow me to chime in, if I may: First of all I can speak objectively in this little debate being from a neighboring county, but being very familar with both schools personnel and coaching 1. The Oneida cheats in recording students: Just plain ignornance on the part of the SHS supporters, this simply doesn't happen. It is illegal the TSSAA would not allow it! 2. Football: Both teams are very, very well coached, we in neighboring counties are envious of the quality coaching you have with your football programs. Who would win? I feel Scott would have won a close one this year, but you take the last 10 years 5-5, maybe Scott with 6 wins. 3. Girls Basketball: NO Contest, and any lady highlander fan would have to face reality on this one, Oneida girls are far superior. They would win this year by 20+, and last year by 25-30, as a matter of fact Scott would not have won any game since the Sharp era, if they had been playing. 4. Boys Basketball: Close over the last few years. Big advantage to Scott in coaching, Bill Hall is perhaps the best "game coach" in the area. If they play in this tournament, Scott would win by 10-15. As far as soccer, baseball, softball, sorry don't follow those. Two great schools, supporters from both schools have alot to be proud of!
  3. While I will agree with most of your comment especially the excuse of being young. Excuses are just that "excuses", all you have to do is look at last years team, four seniors, where is the youth in that? I will however disagree with you on comment about good players over this time span. Who are they? Talent has been very sub-par during this time. As far as coaching is concerned, it is hard to coach with out alot of talent. The coaching staff last year did an above average job with the talent pool they had. The previous four to five years, I will agree, the coaching left alot to be desired. But anyway, best of luck to the 05-06 version of the Lady Highlanders!
  4. Like I said in an earlier post the Lady Landers will win between 7-10. I think they will continue to improve as the season progresses. However, as I also commented on: WAY TO MANY TURNOVERS! They aren't going to win many more unless they curtail the turnovers substantially.
  5. Let me start by saying Coach C. Marcum will do a good job, however he is not a miracle worker. This team is still two or possibly three years away from being competitive. They have no scoring punch, and I will make a prediction that the leading scorer on this team will average no more than eight points per game by years end. The girls are playing hard, and look good at times during the game, but are still very, very turn over proned. I will agree with an earlier post 7-10 wins.
  6. hooper says RBS in the state tournament, "very funny", they will be lucky to get one win in the regionals.
  7. Congratulations from one of your East Tennesse fans!
  8. I think it is very important to remember theses "so-called, county girls", played on the same AAU team for several years. If memory serves me correctly those Tennesse Gems were pretty good.
