  1. 6 away games this year means 6 home games next year. Schedules are played in a home/away format for 2 years. You will play the same schedule next year as this year only the sites will be reversed. You will get the same number of home games in a 2 year span.
  2. Are you not Eddie G.? If not, my bad. It was all in fun. Thought I knew who you were until you didn't call me. Sorry.
  3. Here's another ranking organization. Apparently they did watch Oakland manhandle your defense. Oakland is #2 and Franklin is #5. http://bellsouthpwp2.net/p/o/powerrater/h-s-foot.htm Ran the ball right down your throat with no receivers in the game...you knew it was coming. Would do it again, if we played today, tomorrow or next week. You were physically destroyed. You are welcome to scratch out Runner-Up on that silver ball and put ranked #1...even after being physically dominated. Whatever you want to do. Let me know when that #1 ranking includes a gold ball and a ring. Wah wah.
  4. You lost. You lost. You lost. You lost.
  5. I guess you haven't seen every site. http://bellsouthpwp2.net/p/o/powerrater/h-s-foot.htm Franklin is #5 here and Oakland is #2. I'm sure they're wrong, in your biased book. None of these matter. Oakland was also "supposed" to lose to Ooltewah, Wilson Central, LaVergne, and Riverdale in the Massey Ratings. We've heard excuses all year from almost every team after they got beat. Fact is, they got beat. By the way, that Gold Ball fits nicely in the trophy case.
  6. I'll take a gold ball over somebody's opinionated poll any day. Congrats on the #2 ranking and the silver ball. If they played...they did play. Oakland won. What makes you the best is not making those mistakes, whether Oakland caused them or not.
  7. Good call. Completely dominant last drive. Everybody knew it was run, but it didn't matter. Physically dominated the defense.
  8. I know for a fact that it is a torn ACL.
  9. Oakland played one more game than Ooltewah. Both teams are very tough defensively.
  10. I played for Warren Dunn and we had a "cussing incident" at an away summer scrimmage. Coach helped to "break up" the little altercation and when we got back to Blue Hole Road, he ran the guilty party, in uniform, for about an hour on the track. Things have certainly changed.
  11. [/quote If you are not getting a "good" look from your opponent, the success you achieve is fleeting. It is only my opinion, but if you want to prepare for a challenging season you have to work against good people. Keep in mind Riverdale hasn't lost a region game since Clinton was president. It is different with Oakland....they are the ones who should be scrimmaging the weaker squads. Good call.
  12. I coach two sports and I hate to break it to you, but I have never seen 10 months a year, much less 8 hour days. Everybody who thinks it is 8 hour days and ten month years needs to give it a whirl.
  13. All I can say about Coach Whit was he was a great man and he truly cared about all of his players. One of the funniest things I remember is when he and Coach Wilson would "get after" each other. They would make fun of one another during practices and we would all try not to laugh. Coach Dunn, Coach Wilson, and Coach Whit made a lasting impact on my life. I now coach high school football and that staff is the one that made me feel as though that was my calling. Great men.
  14. If you really want to go back, my Dad and uncle played for the Kenton Warriors in the 60's. My Granddad was the bookkeeper and the announcer. Doug is my Dad and Ren is my uncle. My Granddad is Finley Linnell. I even have a t-shirt from the school when I was 12 in 1983. They have all since moved away. My Dad was the 10th highest scorer in the state during his senior year in 1968.
  15. oland OHS was Peetie, McGowan, Elrod, Barrett, and Trevor Guydon.
  16. I don't know what your problem is. I would assume that everyone knows who I am. I have never tried to "not get busted" if you're talking about someone trying to keep their identity secret. I have answered any questions anyone has asked me. I would think it was pretty obvious, considering I mainly post my opinions on the OHS and the Antioch threads. I guess if it's a problem, I won't post any longer. Sorry you have such a problem with me stating my opinions. BTW, you're right about Moose. He is one of the best coaches I have ever been around. I would say he is a near genius as to how to stop the opposing offense's favorite plays. It is amazing to watch.
  17. RTB, I put a comment on your profile.
  18. Has he been in this region before, beaten teams in our region from a different region, or both? I have a guess that puts this guy in a different county right now.
  19. I heard a lot of different things this week. I mainly heard that the new guy's team is still playing.
  20. I never saw one flag on the Patriot sideline during Ferg's entire tenure. Maybe there were some, but I didn't see any. Emotion does not necessarily equal hotheads. I didn't say the coaches needed to be jerks, but if that's how you read it, sorry. My oldest child goes to school there and I would just love to see them get back to the winning ways that I saw before we became involved with OHS. My high school coach was very laid back and we won a lot of games, but I don't know if that type of coaching works with today's players.
  21. Speaking of young talent, I saw our freshman boys play for the first time against White County this past Thursday. All I can say is WOW! There's a bucketload of athleticism on that squad.
