I do think the JV should practice w/ varsity during individual drills and then break off when varsity goes to team time. What better way to get your future players prepared than by learning how the coach's want it done during the 9th grade year.

Trojan you and JC are both wrong when it comes to educational research. The data is not refutable when it comes to school size and participation in extracurricular activites and regards to academic achievement. What is wrong w/ a kid getting on the field at a smaller size school? I would love to see how our kids would do against a "smaller school" like Alcoa. We sure have not been doing anything for a while @ our big 5-A school. Just because the school is smaller does not mean they will not have just as much competition for playing time. Look @ Mo W and E. It would be harder for kids to get on the field there than @ JC. The need for 2 HS's in our county goes way beyond the football field. It's is about providing our kids a better education.

This is a new County Commission and a new School Board. Let's see what happens. If you have two High Schools the opportunities are so much better. Competition is a good thing. Maybe so many of our kids will not feel the need to transfer out. Maybe we should call our Commissioners and ask them to fully fund our schools.

You heard wrong when it comes to JMS. The night of the Meet the Patriots I am told the 2 coaches agreed to play a quarter. The JMS team waited for thirty minutes till WP and Maury finished. The WP coach then told the JMS coach they had changed their mind. Not that it really matters. The thing is w/ all the talent coming through this county the fans should have something to cheer about soon.

Good questions, but I agree w/ King that in the long run it would save money to go ahead w/ 2nd HS. I am just glad to see some progress from the SB. Speaking of progress, how about a JCHS thread that has stayed open for more than 2 days?

I don't know, you would have a pretty good team w/ this years WP and Maury team. Sounds like it is time for our county to have 2 schools.

It won't be cheaper. It will provide room for future growth in the county. The HS was built for 1800 students. Participation in sports will double because of more opportunity. I think your configuration is right on King.

You need to read Tue.'s Standard Banner about the plan. 2 HS's is a reality. Anybody see Jeff Middle game?

I heard they had over 40 report. Not sure if that is an accurate number.

Jefferson Middle has gone undefeated the last 2 years in the large conference league. They beat all the Morristown schools and Greeneville. That is significant because these are the same people they will be playing in HS. Football is 90% mental. If these kids can keep the right attitudes the ship can be turned around. Who are some of the incoming Fresh. from Jeff Middle working out?

You should have some good incoming Freshman from JMS. I heard some of them were working out. Coming from the winning program should be a good thing. Those kids coming in are used to winning. What are the numbers?

The problem is not every player signed the petition. They should have to reap what they sowed. There are always consequences for your actions. Mom and dad can't always fix the problems created by actions.

The only thing is we do not have a fine program. That goes for most of our sports.

Those kids and parents are a disgrace to our county. I heard Randy Giles was the one funding the lawsuit. I am sure Kevin and Chris are real glad about being put in the spotlight because of this suit. Can they just not let it go and send the kids somewhere else? Everybody knows they were kicked off because they refused to meet w/ the coach. The other kids that signed it didn't have their rights trampled on. They are still on the team.
