When Blackman played Siegel last week, their student section chanted "Cutters Cryin" after each time, and by the second half he quit.

I have to agree....he would have been a solid player but i highly doubt he would have been all district his so. and jr. year....He is very athletic, but his on-court decision making would have had to improve TREMENDOUSLY between this year and next year for him to even be considered for all-district.

yea, i found that out the hard way. i was "setting in someone's seat". I asked them if it had their name on it, and i found out that indeed it was HIS seat. haha

Blackman always seems to have good players that quit. it wouldnt suprise me to see him end up at some other murfreesboro school by the time he graduates.

At white county, even the older people are yelling at you. You would just have to go to really understand. You can never find an open seat there.

The first time I ever went there i thought the Nursing Home was having a night out, but when the game started, i found out the older people there are VERY passionate about their basketball...

IF yall go in and play Oakland Basketball then yall will be just fine! Personally, i vote White County as the toughest place to play in the district.

It is a lot easier to play with Intensity at home. A player's intensity is fed by the home crowd.

It still gives Oakland an advantage whether it is because their student section or not. I think that is what she was saying.

They are going to need more than the first two rows cheering at Oakland, at all of the games ive been to, even the ones at home, I only hear the first two or three rows of the student section.

Blackman's record at home......7-1 Blackman's record away.......... 4-4 (two of those were against warren county and cookeville) Blackman has yet to prove to me that they can win away from home, thats why I think it will be an advantage for Oakland.

Barnes has been getting his shot back a little bit each game. he hit five three's against cookville the other night. If his shot is on, it will help out blackman tremendously. Chaisson is EXTREMELY good at working through screens, like you said, Blackman has to have other players to create shots for Carter off of penetration if he is going to have ANY chance of having some open shots.

I agree, it is very hard to play at White County. That gym can be very intimidating, but i love to watch games there. I think Oakland will go in and take care of business, but it will be close because it is at White County.... Oakland by 8

I think the fact that the game is at Oakland gives them a HUGE advantage. The only way i see blackman comming away with the win is if they can get hot from behind the arc. Otherwise, i see Oakland getting the W. Oakland by 12

you get better by playing better competition. Varsity basketball is not even close to freshman ball. if the only thing that influenced his decision was improving his skill, then he would have chose varsity hands down. Im stumpped as to why he chose to play freshman ball instead

I dont know about firing him for letting the kid decide, but i do think it should come down to what the varsity coach wants. When you are hired as head coach of the varsity basketball team at a school, your job is to have the players on the court to give your school the best chance to win games. If hammonds is as good as everyone is saying, then it sounds like he would be a valuable asset to the team at the varsity level. In my opinion, if i knew a kid was going to be good enough to help out the varsity team, i would pull him up immediatly. I also think that he is missing out on valuable playing experience at the varsity level that would have helped him out in the comming years.

You GOT to love this region... This will be VERY interesting to see how this shakes out. I normally dont post on football boards, but this has even got me excited.

Im not disagreeing that Siegel and Oakland are the best teams, im just saying that all of the other teams are not BAD teams. ANY team can win ANY game in this district. To say that blackman is beating a bunch of bad teams is unfair to the other teams in the district.

First of all, you need to have a little bit more respect for this district. This is one of the most competitive and talented districts in the state. Second of all, leading Oakland till 5 min. to go in the game....Oakland is no cupcake team. Lastly, Blackman has beaten every team in the district exept for Siegel and Oakland, so you are saying every team in the district is a bad team exept Siegel and Oakland.

I diffinately think this game will be closer than last game....I also think that when blackman is hot, they are the best shooting team in the district, and can outscore Ramsey, Oden, and Roper. I also believe that keith wont be as big of a factor as everyone thinks. I'd be willing to bet that he has at least 3 charges called on him this game, thus getting him into much needed foul trouble for blackman. Ask 2p about how many charges Blackman takes. He'll tell you just from the Oakland game. Blackman doesnt have the height that other teams do, but Turnham has them playing very fundamentally sound basketball. With that being said, i think it will stay close through 3 quarters, and Siegel will take this game in the end....by 7. Good luck to both teams, I hope to see a great game!
