  1. I was about to ask why he'd wanna come here, then I saw that he's not at FC any more. Does WC have a nepotism policy? Well, one that they're gonna enforce now that we have new b-ball coaches.
  2. So 42 losses is the most in a 6 year span at WCHS? Oh, except for: 91-96= 50 losses 92-97= 46 losses 93-98= 48 losses 94-99= 50 losses 95-00= 51 losses 96-01= 50 losses 97-02= 53 losses 98-03= 57 losses And there's not any post season losses in there against the top ranked teams in the state either. Yeah I know you're talking about the most losses by one coach, but as was stated earlier, Coach Madewell is the SECOND LONGEST TENURED COACH in WCHS history at 6 years. So even though 10 losses were from that first year where he inherited an utter disaster, and 4 losses were in the PLAYOFFS against 1 state champ, and 3 other highly favored teams he still averaged less losses per year than the previous 5 coaches. But hey, let's go back to the coaching carousel days where we bring somebody in, get tired of him in a couple years, run him off, and bring somebody else in.
  3. wins and losses we have a A.D. now that wants a successful program Todd will get it done I predict a winning season in 2010 with whoevers the coach GO PIONEERS So you're blaming wins and losses on 350 yards per game, 30 points per game, and a Top 10 offense in the state? Well there you go. Imo, Todd should not be on the selection committee. He should be in the applicant pool.
  4. I think (don't quote me) that there's some special recognition for Cat instead of that list. Could be just a rumor but I heard it. 103 points? Wow!
  5. What offense/defense does Giles Co. run?
  6. Anybody heard any names that have sent resumes in yet?
  7. Is that freshman thru varsity or varsity only?
  8. From my recollection there weren't but maybe a couple of non-tenured coaches that can be replaced. There were 3 non-faculty, so either find more non-faculty or find 3 spots for them, then, what, 4-5 other spots that need to be filled by either current staff or find that many positions for new coaches. That would be a show of support. Scott Smith would clash with everybody in this county. Maybe Willmore can bring David Pack in here?
  9. New offense? Really? This past year had over 3500 yards of offense, what's wrong with that?
  10. If none of the current coaches stay, who's gonna be on staff? Haven't they used everybody in the system that's a coach? Is there anybody left? Or will they actually go out and hire assistants for the new guy and find positions for them like they wouldn't for Madewell?
  11. Won't matter if they don't give any more support to the new guy than they did to Coach Madewell.
  12. I've seen axsax get on the coaches plenty. There used to be last period weightlifting but they cancelled it this year and everything has been done after school. Wanting to win isn't the answer, heck, everybody wants to win. You have to have the will to prepare to win. From the top down.
  13. The renovation happened 5 or 6 years ago. It's my understanding that Nunley Stadium was in such condition that something had to be done. And I think the decision came down to renovating Nunley Stadium or building a new one out at the high school, so they just renovated the stadium, as that was much more cost effective. Whether building a new stadium was in play or not I don't really know, but there was at least some fringe talk of it at the time.
  14. Uh yeah, that's why they run the veer. It's based on angles and getting off the ball, not going toe to toe with the guy across from you.
  15. Nice post. But you know I'm gonna disagree on the veer. I love it. Plus you gotta have the horses to run with the I.
  16. Who shoots and cuts the games for tv? Any chance they get that one camera off field level and up where you can see something?
