for what it is worth, I would agree that the UTC arena is a great facility and they do a wonderful job, but parking is atrocious and hotel space is much more limited

Personally would favor moving to someplace more centrally located - either Nashville or Murfreesboro. Both have several large facilities, enough hotel rooms and easy access to interstate. Only the fans in northern Middle Tennessee would drive further.

This sounds like more D1 cherry picking. you want to compete together at some levels but not at others. You continue to draw on the example that D2 schools can take kids from anywhere (as if they had a choice to do otherwise) but wont look at the fact the average enrollment of D1 schools is much higher, giving them a larger pool of potential kids to pull from. So far as qualifying for the duals, D2 schools dont go through a tournament. But how many of the D1 schools in the duals would be there if the current D2 schools were included? The regular season records of D1 schools against D2 schools doesnt look that good.

If we want to combine D1 and D2 back together, why not do so for the Duals also? And if "The D2 kids get no respect because their tournament is a joke." why not let the teams (in Duals) also compete together? I dont think the D1 schools would fare quite so well. Looking at the last coaches poll, D2 produced 4 of the top 10 teams (from a pool of only 16 schools) while D1 schools accounted for the other 6 positions, but from a much larger (over 150?) pool. Does everyone really want to combine the divisions? Or are they afraid the D1 Duals will look like the D2 duals with Bradley, Soddy Daisey, and Clarksville added?

Right, it all does go in cycles. But if the football coaches had accepted that and competed, instead of changing the playing ground, we wouldnt be having the whole D1 / D2 thing to begin with. While D2 is a smaller pool, chances are you are more likely to be facing an opponent who trains year round, attends summer camps, competes against out of state competition, and has better facilities.

Would we be having this discussion if someone in (what is now) Division 1 had been able to figure out a way to beat Carlton Flatt?

both teams are very good and it will be an exciting match to watch but i'm pretty sure this one will go to McCallie.

i will admit that BA has gotten much better than last year with the help of coach cash, but that isn't saying a lot seeing as how awful they were last year. sure they got justin cash and maybe a few others that are studs but the rest of them don't have nearly as much experience as Fr. Ryan or haven't been wrestling that long. Fr. Ryan will definently win.

I think MatMans data is a little off. Griffith has moved up to 112 this year and Roas is the new 103 for Ryan. Sutter is at 112 for MBA.
