Well everybody is throwing from 43 ft. I'm sure just the teams that beat certain teams and homer on certain pitchers have "fixed" bats!!! What is a "fixed" bat??? Is that like a Illegal bat?? Or is that one that was broken and put back together with "special" glue?????

Get her on a 18 Gold Team!!!! Last yr my DD had to play 18U A since she had played as a Fr in College and it was not very good. She needs to be on a "real" 18 Gold Team!!!

Congrats to her!!! A-Sun has very good pitching and she will fit in there good. Very nice field also. Really liked the practice infield area they added.

Good old Unicoi!!!! I have really enjoyed all the drama up there over the last few years. From the Dad calling out the Sr 1st basemen who missed a ground ball and smiled....that cost his DD a perfect game (team right ), to the mess about the Fire truck in the Parade!!!! I even remember one Dad talking about pitching lessons, Marine Corp, and he would whip everybody's arse!!!!! But he left the board. Now I am reading about everybody up there giving grief to this girl and her parents for making a choice that could not have been easy for them. After all, they live there.....I would think. But please, don't kid yourself into thinking some player has ruined her College chances, if they were to ever have come, by doing this. If the girl can pitch somebody will sign her!!!! Book it!!!! Where is KW going to College????

HHS, you are so right!!! Take Wilson25, somebody brings up a player from LAST year and comments that they thought she was the best in the state. Wilson jumps straight to pitching stats from the title game!!! Keep in mind it was "Player" not "Pitcher", which was Ellen Renfro by the way!! So..Wilson must be upset because, 1. DD/Family Member/Travel Ball Player/etc.. did not get talked about enough as one of those other very good pitcher. 2. DD/FMT/TBP/etc... did not get to keep playing at the next level and he can't let it go. or 3. He is just not the smartest guy in the world to call out a girl who is starting as a freshman at a D1 school in the ACC and doing very well!!!!! Just another Dad on this board stirring up comments about a girl who is in another STATE because...hhmmm.....well....hhhmmm... I wonder what she did to him????? I bet she got the last ICEE at the concession stand right in front of Wilson!!!!

Funny that you bring up pitching stats when he said "best PLAYER"..... Here are some stats for you: Batting Avg .319 Slg% .543 OB% .418 5-2b, 2-3b,4-HR(1 GS), and 21-23 stolen bases. Oh wait....these are not HS #'s, they are her Freshman yr at Virginia Tech, so far. And keep in mind she has been injured.

True, but my "Daddys Allstar" never went to State in HS. Heck they only one the District once!!!! (and it wasn't very tough). However, she playes at a D1 school and went to a NCAA Regional last year. My point is that if you are a good player at a bad school (team), enjoy your school but get on a good A travel team that will get you seen at ASA A Nationals or 18 Gold. As a matter of fact, 4 girls off that HS team went on to play in College. (5 if you add another sport)!!!!! Wow, now that I think about that, that's kind of sad!!! LOL

The ASA 16 under A Nationals will be in Chattanooga this Summer. Be there on Day 1 and look around for yourself at all the College coaches. Some people have a problem when "A travel ball" is brought up. Go see for yourself. When we went as 16's to Owensboro Ky, I walked into the park and every Pac-10 coach was watching a girl pitch!!!

I would be more worried about how many "runs" she can score for them!!!!

Has ASA changed 18A for this year? Last year 18yr old, 1st yr College Players, could not play Gold but could play 18A. So has ASA changed again?

Twister, what is it with you Alcoa fans??? I never said anything about you cheating!! I understood how the tuition system works, but "alcoa72" said I didn't know squat!! All I did was praise you guys but whatever reason you guys have that chip on your shoulder that make you turn everything into a negative comment. He said I didn't know squat about the tuition so I asked if I was not correct. You imply that I was correct but am saying you cheated!!!! Where did you get that from my praise of your team and Coach Rankin?? I give up!! heck, I don't really even care!!!LOL

alcoafan72, so am I wrong about the open zoning? My understanding is that students can pay a fee and be able to attend Alcoa and play. So are you saying that is not correct? And please stay with the question. I was not trying to downgrade Alcoa at all, just the opposite!! The fact that the school is so small makes what they have done even better!! Since everybody seems to have a chip on there shoulder perhaps I should not post on any East Tn post anymore. I just tried to say that Alcoa has no peers in 3A and really will not be tested...because they are so good. I said I would like to see them play 6A teams so they would be tested and we they could have a good State Title game...because they are that good, they beat the 6A champ!! (I never said they play a weak schedual or anything like that-they play who is put in front of them!). I think Rankin is the best Coach in the State!! Period! He gets the most out of his kids. A lot of kids can't play for him because of what he demands from them. And last but not least, I am not saying you said all these things!!! I just wanted to clear this up in one post IF some of the later comments were taken as a slam on Rankin in any way.

Someone was talking about all the Gold Balls coming back to the East and somebody said maybe this would end the "Big Boy" crap. I was asking when the Big Boy crap became about the east? I thought it got started about playing 6A football. It really doesn't matter. Seems like you guys want to insult each other and call it trash talk now. I'm a little to old for this kind of "Fun"?
