  1. OK - just catching up.... GREAT post about laying off Devrin. Bearden has talent, and Devrin has talent - its a team sport - let's enjoy the season! BigRed now that it is obvious who you are I'll let you know I am a former teammate of yours and my only memory of you is your show of class at the West JV game - which I believe was the last time you put on a Bearden uniform due to a torn ACL you received while fighting. I too was recruited by Cumberland and I hope Coach Alexander knows what he is getting into with you. I hope for his sake you don't stab him in the back like you have our coaches at Bearden when you don't see the field except from the sidelines. But that's OK, everybody needs scout team players too.
  2. Very funny that Jacob wouldn't approach the coaches this summer at Bearden.... I guess he thinks talking smack behind the screen is the only way he MAY could win....sorry, Jacob, not even then.
  3. If I didn't already know who you were I'd think you were a water boy...well, I guess you could have been the water boy since you didn't see any playing time at Bearden. You're right, you wouldn't have played at Bearden anyway, since Coaches Miller and Fendley do NOT let loosers play football with winners! Sorry about your luck Big Red.
  4. #62 is a senior. Excellent football player and student. Every college coach should be looking at this kid. He will do everything you ask and never slack - he gives 110% on and off the field. He takes football serious and respects the game, his teammates and coaches. Good luck Smyrna.
  5. Just tell us one thing....who does Smyrna have that can stop Torey Works (AKA Rockwood)??????????????????? That's what we thought.... NO ONE!!!!! Bearden by 10 (at least)
  6. Bearden has an exceptional coaching staff this year. It appears Coach Wilson and the other returning coaches have made huge stride in bringing HOPE back to this program. Bearden has played the first two games with heart and determination - which I see them taking it to the field again for Friday nights game against DB. This is going to be a great game. I think Bearden has it in them to win, they will need to stop the big plays. AND if for some reason they do not win this year - THEY WILL FOR SURE NEXT....this year DB is playing with mostly seniors, while Bearden is playing with mostly juniors....I just say - watch out Tribe the Bulldogs are loose and hungry! Travel safe to and from the game.
  7. Does anyone know of other applicants for the job? What about the current coaches, are they not interested?
  8. I agree Gray is good. I just feel we are not getting the truth here - that is with his reputation... According to a friend of his family, the reason he didn't take the Mt. Juliet position was because first he wasn't offered and second - HE would love to go since he is from Mt Juliet. Another red flag comes from his peers at Oak Ridge. He applied for the HC position there and didn't get it...Oak Ridge is a very successful program - makes you wonder why he wasn't given an opportunity to be the HC there since he was so successful - so you say. The last thing I will say is I have heard that Coach Gray hasn't been at Bearden for workouts or anything else since the banquet...so much for "doing the right thing for kids, huh"?
  9. Maybe Ron Gray is a good coach, but what qualifications does he have to be a head coach? I understand he has applied numerous times and has not been offered a head coach job as of yet. Wonder why- is there something hidden???? What makes you you think he would be a good head coach at Bearden?
