As long as kids magically decide to move to Signal Mtn for their senior seasons, such as mr garner, the eagles will do well. I do think this will be detremental to the program as kids who come up through the middle school and high school have kids come up for 1 or 2 seasons and take away the spots and playing time they have worked years for.
csas does not have to recruit to fill their roster with athletes. it is a quality educational atmosphere, and basketball is the dominant sport at the school and it draws players to their program, recruiting not needed.
I believe CSAS should be in the bottom 4 or 5. I believe they play East Hamilton this week. They also have beaten Hixson and Boyd handily. Were not CCS or Signal strong, but a solid group of players.
Coach Gatewood is way to busy to be on the coacht message board. I don't believe the team can't practice until the building has a letter of occupancy, until then the school does not exist...may or not be true, grapvine chatter at its best.
grace also needs to incorparate some zone defenses into their game plan. short bench makes this a must for grace to keep the first 5 on the floor. also, when you have a 7 footer and a 6'9' guy and you don't settle them in under the basket and make the opposition beat you from outside i just don't understand the man to man 32 minutes a game.....never have.
temple out to a 10 zilch lead and clearly the better team. i completely disagree with the assesment of the depth of these two teams. grace's bench is weak. huge drop of in talent from first five and 6-8. temple brought 3 guys or so off the bench that contributed a great deal. grace's guards are selfish, and patrick gets very few feeds inside. i also saw several plays where grace's heart seemed lacking. lack of hustle allowed several easy lay ups and dunks. grace did close the game to 6 midway through the 4th, but temple answered with two treys and it was over. patrick was gassed late in the third. he gives everything he has every play and is rewarded with limited offensive touches. temple showed they were more than just sexton.
oolteaah has a lot of footbal players playing basketball, i have never seen a team choke in the final 2 minutes quite so bad. there was even on e of theose georgetown/north carolina passes mixed in there
still curious how sexton ended up at temple.....ooltewah middle school to temple.....
contending for the region would be having a shot at beating temple or grace.......just is not going to happen...
15+ point loss against either......
talk about weak coaching, when a coach let's parents dictate where a kid plays on the court, that is weak coaching.
if the parents pressure isn't why you play a 7 foot kid on the perimiter, then it is even weaker coaching.
