  1. I would like to take this time to criticize Middle Tenn AAU programs. I was reading on a previous thread about a tournament being put on by the Mid State Ballerz. My questions is where are the other Middle Tn teams? With this being said I see that the Columbia Bullets, Tn Dreams, Charles Davis are participating. It appears to me that these coaches are not afraid to play anyone at anytime. If my team had qualified for the aau state I would surely take this opportunity to see how we fair against the other top teams in the state. (Where are the M'boro Nets? Scared of a little competition?) I guess coach watson would rather pad his record at the sparta warriors tourney. Where are the Tn Thunder teams? After their showing in the 16's & 17's sub state they should be looking for a chance at redemption.
  2. Good job, Select. Aren't the assist stats WAY too high, though? There wouldn't have been an unassisted point ALL Tournament long!
  3. firefly might be the dumbest person on this entire site. Just when his posts can't get any more ignorant, he surpasses his previous standard of stupidity.
  4. Britt and Josh Suddath quit the Travelers early in the year.
  5. Smyrna does have decent guards, enough to win with in combination with two 6'9 kids. #12 off the bench is athletic, and a good high school guard. The Caldwell kid can really shoot the ball. Lyons kid is quick. That is easily enough to win many more games than they have.
  6. It's amazing how little success can be had when kids are held back so greatly within a system.
  7. Kenwood is really struggling right now. They got blow out tonight by an average mt Juliet team by 18. I don't know what is going on there, but they have two great, great players in Mike Sampson and Antwan Harris, yet they don't touch the ball on offense. What is goin on? Why don't they both play on the perimeter so they can touch the ball on offense? Someone please respond who knows more about the situation, because this is bad.
  8. The fact is a Coach made a decision he felt was in the best interest of his team. FACT. Accept it. A player makes a choice to play for a team, and therefore must accept the decisions made by the Coach. Anyone that brings up the race card in this argument in any way, shape, or form, is absolutely ridiculous. This is not a racist situation. This is a black coach who has made a rule about the hairstyle of his players, in order to try to clean up his program. Fact is, McGavock is a school that has always had a ton of talent, and always underachieved, in large part due to attitudes and individualism. So now you are going to blame a coach who is trying to do something that in his opinion will help his team 1)shed a lable 2)become more of a 'team' and 3)win more ballgames??? Come on now-if you think you could do a better job getting cohesiveness and victories out of an inter-city team with a history of struggles and underacheiving, then get a coaching job, and do it yourself. I respect Coach Harris for this decision, and I hope that the kids buy into it, and end up with a very successful season.
