  1. Cleveland beat Walker Valley for the #2 seed in 5AAA so they play @ Ooltewah and McMinn County hosts Soddy Daisy. That TSSAA link has Ooltwah playing an away game @ a 5AAA champion which isn't right.
  2. That was a crazy game. Walker Valley was in control of that game until after the first out in the top of the 7th. It makes you wonder what the game outcome would of been if they left Jamie Harper in for WV. He had pitched a great game. He got the lead off out and then back to back singles gave Cleveland hope. I think everybody at the game thought Walker valley was going to win that game even with one out and men on first and second. I think when Cleveland tied the game, Walker valley started playing a little tight. Then it makes it tough on a new pitcher to throw strikes. You don't see many games like that. Good unbiased review of the game baconbreath.
  3. The Ooltewah players went to Red Bank, Soddy, Central, Lookout Valley, Cleveland, and Boyd Buchann, all legally. And yes Ooltewah did get their share of players in through the years.
  4. Both Hunter and Alan are not only great pitchers , they are also great young men. I wish them both the best not only this season but also in their future baseball careers and beyond. My son has played with both these guys and against them since they were 6 years old. You could also say what would Ooltewah would be with the 8 others that left OHS in addition to Alan. Just think 9 players left Ooltewah and they are at 6 different schools and all of them are doing well. And including Alan, 2 others that left Ooltewah have signed early to play college baseball next year. Both of them are pitchers also. Most all left because of the bad coaching at OHS. And you could also say that the year that Burke and Mcdade were juniors and seniors that if they had a decent coach they could have won state. Anyway , good luck Alan and Hunter.
  5. Thanks for reposting it Zeus. It posted it twice for some reason so I deleted one of them. I wasn't trying to hide anything
  6. Old Dad, We heard the PA announcer loud and clear, thats why there are so many comments about him. And when the school has someone broadcast the game on radio, it normally is a biased opinion.
  7. Ooltewah had a great season but came up a little short against a good Smyrna team. You can always look back at numerous plays and ref calls that might have changed the outcome. But sometimes it just doesn't go your way and last night it didn't. You have to take your hat off to Smyrna but not to the most classless PA announcer I have ever witnessed in many years of watching all levels of sporting events. He even announced as he said "a score of interest from Murfreesboro, MTSU girls 50 - UTC 28". I understand scores of interest, like other playoff games going on, but never ever heard a girls basketball game announced at a high school football game. I bet that he doesn't mention a "score from Murfreesboro "if the score was reversed. You Smynra fans should be embarassed by his comments, songs played , and one sided announcing. He read at the first of the game the TSSAA statement at the first of the game about both teams, fans etc. conducting themselves in a good sportsmanship way but he failed to do so himself. He needs to come to an Ooltewah game and hear our announcer do a game in a unbiased manner. He should only do that type of announcing if he was doing play by play over radio for Smyrna but not over the PA. You may have a classy program but remember he represents not only the football team but the fans, city of Smyrna and the high school itself. Therefore, stand up against his classless announcing and "unplug" him.
