  1. Unless something has changed, it's 1 (Big 9) vs 4 (IMAC) and 2 (IMAC) vs 3 (Big 9) in the same bracket...somebody is going to the house early...
  2. I don't think I would pencil in those 2 teams in the championship game just yet...While Greeneville should probably win their district tourney, Science Hill will need to win the district touney (DB, Tenn High and others may have something to say about that) and even if they do, Greeneville would need to probably beat DB in the regionals to get to the championship game (that is certainly not a given)...last year they met, but in the semi's...and, of course, most years there is an opening round upset in the districts as Science Hill found out a couple of years ago. That is why they play the games.
  3. Something similiar to a shot might be nice to fall - how about that 14 point offensive juggernaut they put on last week against Greeneville...
  4. I would not hold my breath for a change - if referees controlling the outcomes of games is eliminated, Science Hill may not ever have another home game.
  5. Greeneville has not won many games "easily" this season, so I doubt that will occur. Don't be surprised if SH wins this game. Greeneville has not played well recently, although last Friday night against East was an improvement over the past few weeks. Throw in the 10 point SH advantage for the "no fouls called when SH is pressing at home" factor, and I would think SH has a great chance to pull off the victory.
  6. Actually, Greeneville had Wiggins guarding Wattad last year, but SH had a different defender on Wiggins.
  7. Nope - let him touch the ball every time down the floor, never take him out of the game unless they are killing the team they are playing, ride the horse as far as he will take you.
  8. Barb, I have nothing against her...my initial post on this thread was a simple comment - Collins should be on the floor more than she has been. Since then have had people attacking kids (that's not right, they are kids) past coaches and since I have a difference of opinion, I suppose I am next...Greeneville has a great feeder school and an incredible talent base. Jack was not a great basketball coach, everyone knows that, but anyone who thinks that the level of talent he had compares to what has been at GHS over the past few years really doesn't understand the game. These coaches are young, I hope they improve and I hope they win the state every year. But at this time, they are not very perceptive and they don't adjust very well to game situations. Simply an observation, not a personal attack, I'm sure they are fine folks.
  9. Greeneville mom, Burkey did not have to figure out their "zone"...he was up double digits...
  10. Good grief, Barb - coaching your reserves when you are up by 30 is impressive? Has there ever been a coach that has not done that? Advantage over Burkey? Like in the state tourney last year when Greeneville is down by 10 and Crumley has them holding the ball in the 4th quarter and thinks she is outcoaching Burkey? I enjoy the kids, enjoy the games, and wish them nothing but the best; however, the coaching staff is not a strength (in my opinion, and we can disagree, no problem).
  11. I have seen most of their games this year - the reality is that with the level of competition offered in the IMAC this year, you could roll the ball out on the floor and not say a word and Greeneville would win most of their games - they are that much better in talent than their competition. We can disagree on the point - you think they do an excellent job, I think they don't have a clue. But you don't have to be Pat Summit to recognize that Collins gives you size on defense and and another low post scoring threat - do you really think Greeneville would have been within 10 points without her Saturday night? Let me make this plain - I'm not on the thread to trash any player - all the kids on this team have a role - I'm just saying that Collins brings to much to the table to keep her on the bench.
  12. Let me see if I have this straight - you are trashing L_333's grammer (I agree, it is horrible) but in your previous post you use the word "congradulations" twice...try congratulations. Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Now that we have grammer, spelling and hopefully the fights out of the way, let's talk basketball. I'll be the first to admit, when I saw WG at the first of the year, I did not know if they could win more than a couple of games. Congratulations to the team and Coach Greenlee on your sweep and success in the New Year. Since I have not seen them play since early in the season, what is the difference? Improved play at the point, defense, everything? I'm curious...
  13. I saw it...I hope the Greeneville coaching staff did and took notes. The Collins kid comes off the bench for Greeneville (scores 14, rebounds, has a couple of clean blocks on Johnson and candidly, was the only one not intimidated at the start of the game) and gets playing time. It's beyond not having a clue that her playing time has been limited so far this season. We will see what the rest of the year holds - I would not hold my breath on the coaching staff being perceptive.
  14. Even Omar would not say he is "by far" the best player in the east...dial down your testosterone (and font)...
  15. Please tell me you are not really this dense...
