  1. What a game! Jenkins, number 21, is going to play for the Flight this summer and then decide where to go to college. She IS something isn't she? Miss Basketball was won by Lakendra Phillips out of Memphis. I shure was pulling for Miss jackie to win that one. Looking at the program I thought she had the numbers to win it. Thought Kayla might have a shot at 1A but maybe next year. Congratulations to the mighty Wilson Central and Bud. "This ones for you!!!!" LOL
  2. She is probably a good ball player. But there are lots of good players that don't make the final list. Only three can make it and I think that these three in AAA are probably the best all-round players in the state, no doubt. I think that KeKe and Puleo would have to be the next ones on the top five list. What about Dudley being left out? I think that is a big loss to the AA. Again there are many great players in the state but only the best three can make it to the big show. Next year Puleo and Hollifield should make up two of the AAA choices. Good luck to Kayla and Jackie! You two deserve to win the award. My fingers are crossed! Go B or Brandi. Eiether one is a great choice.
  3. Does the Skogan line just go on and on? I keep reading about the Skogans and their basketball accomplishments. Where does Jacob play now? Is there a female Skogan that we can look for anywhere in the near future? Wonder why Plavich from Baylor was not a finalist. Saw him play one time and he scored about 30 points. Looked like the best in the Chattanooga area to me. Congratulations to Barry Stewart. You are a great kid and I love to watch you play. Smooth as silk on the court!
  4. My personal picks are Hudson, Brown, and Pickel. Didn't all three of these play on the same AAU team, and Thomas too? No wonder they won the nationals. Good luck to all the finalists but I hope Kayla and Jackie win for sure.
  5. Do I sense some jealousy or resentment here? Most girls in high school who average twenty or more points a game probably shoot over 60 percent of the times the team shoots. Mooney, Hudson, Stewart, Pickel, McMahan, Puleo, Brown, etc. etc. etc. Bets are that all these take the mojority of the team's shots. A coach would be an imbecile to not let these ladies have the green light and work the offense around them. Just because only three scored doesn't mean the other two on the court weren't just as valuable. Too many people worried about points. Some players specialize in scoreing and others specialize in defense and others in passing. All three important aspects of the game. Jealousy is not becoming. Puleo is a great player with a great future. How can you be critical of her or her team? Congratulations to Angela from your middle TN supporter. Keep shooting the ball and we may see you in Murfreesboro. Thats the only way your team will be there is if you keep shooting.
  6. Maybe since Foster is such a great team player she will win team MVP or maybe take her team to the state and win MVP. You were bragging about her scoring 20 points in a game. Most of these girls mentioned on here are averaging20 plus points every game. Most are also in winning teams. Miss Basketball is based on individual stats not on team ones. Foster may be good but she is not Miss Basketball material. All-district, all-region, possible all-state, but certainly not one of the best three players in the state.
  7. Exactly what is this based on? Stats or what? Any other requirements necessary to be a finalist? Juniors can win right? In AAA the winner will be by default anywy since Cait was hurt, but I want Pickel to win. She deserves it. One of the top scorers in the state as well as rebounders also an All-American. Stewart has the same credentials so you couldn't go wrong with either of those two. You can't go wrong with Thomas or Brown in AA. Stats are high and both are all-around players. Thomas won last year so I would like to see Brown win this year. Spread the gold around. Last but very important is Kayla Hudson. Coming into the season I would not have had her listed except as a long shot. Now. I have her as my number one. She should win it easily and might would even win an overall vote no matter the class. So if you want my input I would go with Pickel, Brown and Hudson but if you don't like them go with keKe or Bianca. Bellamy should definitely be a finalist though. I just don't think she has had the year that she needed to knock out Thomas or Brown.
  8. Brandon Wright is the only one for sure. Hamilton could have one or two even. Willie Kemp should be a finalist for sure.
  9. Gainsboro is no metroplois and neither is Clarkrange but every year they seem to be contenders for the gold. Gleason has Kayla this year and next and they are very little. Byrdstown has a tradition for being good. Copper Basin barely exists and they are good this year. RBS always is tough to beat at home. If you've never been there it is barely a town itself.
  10. Jana and Leah are two of the best shooters in AA. They should be one of the best teams. I think the coach is a little too easy. She doesn't push them enough.
  11. Congratulations to Jackie Pickel. I just heard you got 2000 points this weekend. Way to go!
  12. Go KAYLA!!! I'm pullin for Kayla... I'm pullin for my bud Jackie...
  13. Amen Bro. Watched her play against Wilson Central and every time she shot she was farther back and everytime I thought "what is she doing?" But everytime she made it. Cant guard a shooter like that.
  14. A Kayla Hudson Danielle Rector Jordan Ramsey Winner: Kayla Hudson AA Brandi Brown Bianca Thomas Latoya Bellamy Winner Brown, maybe Thomas AAA KeKe Stewart Jessica Mooney Jackie Pickel Winner Pickel or Stewart
