  1. I've never seen Brown pitch, but I've seen Clifft a couple times. He's very hittable to say the least. I did not see a lot of offense out of Huntingdon either. I may have caught them on a bad day though. You really never know about a team by watching a couple games, but you can usually make a fairly accurate assessment on a pitcher. Nothing that I'd call an out pitch. I think command will be the biggest issue. As far as Mckenzie goes, I haven't seen them all year. Good luck to both teams!
  2. I don't know who is pitching. That will be what makes the difference. I really don't see any reason for either team to throw any of their top pitchers, but you never know. The #1's for both teams will definitely not throw. I guess it really depends on who has a better approach at the plate.
  3. Yeah, Bridges always talks. I think he likes the sound of his own voice. Maybe that call did change the game. Who knows? I think USJ was going to get their runs regardless of what call had been made though.
  4. Yeah, the kid may have left a step early, but that wasn't a huge play. As far as the fatboy comment, it's probably because Bridges looks like a pregnant woman(about 8 months along) wearing her little brother's uniform. Nothing beats the first base coach for Haywood wearing that purple night gown!!
  5. Hey, if I'm ticking then something is bad wrong! I said that simply because you used FANS in your analogy. If you had said players, then you would have been on to something. My motive is simply to be honest and objective. I've done that. Good night.
  6. Thanks, I was just wondering. He told me he used to throw the HEAT. Ask him about the Georgia Tech game his last year. That guy was a riot!!
  7. Well, thanks for the info. Good luck!!
  8. Actually it would be more like a judge asking a reporter or someone else who attended the trial, but you were close. Analogies can be tough sometimes, huh!! Anyway you just answered my question about thinking!!
  9. Yeah, Hayes is a tough out. I thought Clifft was the #1. Was it just Crocker's turn in the rotation, or is he the ace? Either way you guys should do fine.
  10. Did he throw any against Union City the other night, or did Crocker throw the whole game? How does Mckenzie hit the ball?
  11. Who's pitching for the Mustangs?
  12. That's it, I'm trying to get on this guy's good side. You guessed it!! It always helps to have a high school umpire on your side in various matters. It would probably help a little more if I had ever met this fellow though. Don't you think? Or have you given up on that altogether?
  13. Hey man, it takes all kinds of people to make a world!! Keep up the good work!!
  14. Amazing!! We have different people with different opinions. This could be the first time it's ever happened! This gentleman was simply having a conversation with fans. Asking other people what they think does not always imply second guessing your own judgement, nor does it make an official unprofessional. The irony of all of this is that in your attempts to help or advise this guy in avoiding controversy, you've single-handedly created it. Oh, and college baseball is a horse of a different color, any comparisons made with high school baseball officiating are of no consequence.
  15. Absolutely, Deberry was definitely a steal for Bethel. I will also say he would have been a steal for Lambuth, Freed, or Union just to keep those Bethel coaches cool!! Seriously, he has the tools to play at a very high level in college. I've seen him play for years, and he's just got loads of talent!!! Wait til he gets with a hitting coach, he's as strong as anyone. Potential, potential, and more potential!!!
  16. I like Jonathan Deberry in the outfield. You'd be hard pressed to find a more gifted athlete. Definitely no one around here with better speed, and he's got a pretty strong arm as well. He's a pretty tough out at the plate too!! This guy has all the tools.
  17. USJ 4-0 Lex. 7-3 Harpeth 4-2 JCS 10-0 UC 6-4 McKenzie 5-0 Covington 6-1 Adamsville 7-4
  18. Copley probably will be tough, but there is no way Gant gives up 7 runs tonight!!
  19. Thanks again!! I saw Clifft once this year, and I would agree with you on velocity. I've never seen Crocker or Lowrance pitch. I'll take your word for it. It'll be tough for me to make a 5:00 first pitch in Union City though. Good luck!!
  20. Should be a good one then. I'm not too familiar with either team, but I've heard good things about both Clifft and Crocker. I can't comment on UC though. Can't Crocker and Clifft both throw pretty hard? What is the difference in velocity in your opinion? Thanks for the info!!
  21. Was Brown a stud when he pitched there a few years ago?
  22. Do you know who will be pitching in the UC/ Huntingdon game? I'd like to see that one!!
  23. I'll take USJ. Good luck to both teams!! Those other 26 wins prove that Gant is very tough to beat. Should be a very good game. I don't know that much about Copley or Gibson Co. though. They must be pretty good to be in this position!!
  24. Good point about this being a baseball board. I still think you might need a Midol!!
  25. I think it was bd4vols, but he said they were slaw good! That means horrible where he's from.
