  1. They will be back in Jackson by Weds night
  2. So, with a huge lead the coach had him pitch the sixth inning knowing he was going to pitch him in the second game and then did and in the process snatch a championship and home field from the whole team. That should go on his resume and be noted in bold red letters.
  3. Probably shouldn't read too much into it. They just faced a much better team that would beat them 10 out of 10 times. But they should do well in the single A tourn.
  4. Interesting point. TSSAA does not mention anything about records. Does anyone report or keep records of JV games? It just seems like overkill if a kid only had very limited JV playing time and could play somewhere else. Seems like the school would have to go out of their way to prove someone played JV in order to block the play at another school. The whole point of the rules should be the best interest of the kid.
  5. If he plays before the 12 month timeline, his Mckenzie will forfiet any game he played in unless he moved. Surely he didn't go to JCM and then start commuting from Jackson to Mckenzie. He must have relocated which throws the eligibility question out the window.
  6. Just got off the phone with TSSAA. Any JV player that does not make a bona fide residence move is ineligible for play at the varsity level in all of the connected sports (baseball, football, basketball, ect.) for 12 months from last participation. So if you play one day of JV basketball and change schools you cannot play baseball or football or any sport for 12 months.
  7. TSSAA is confusing, I would initially agree that JV is not sanctioned and here is an excerpt from their website: At the junior varsity or B-Team level, the only eligibility rules that apply are those in Sections 1 (Enrollment), 2 through 4 (Academic Rules), 5 (High School Graduate), 6 (Eight-Semester Rule), 7 (Repeating Rule), 8 (Eighth Grade Participation), 9 (Age Limit), and 10 (Physical Examination and Parental Consent). At the varsity level, all eligibility rules apply.
  8. If a JV player never plays a varsity game, would they still have to sit out of all varsity sports for a year if they transfer without a move?
  9. Do I understand the TSSAA preamble section under eligibility to mean that JV players are eligible to transfer as long as they have not played in a varsity game? Section I am speaking of is: At the junior varsity or B-Team level, the only eligibility rules that apply are those in Sections 1 (Enrollment), 2 through 4 (Academic Rules), 5 (High School Graduate), 6 (Eight-Semester Rule), 7 (Repeating Rule), 8 (Eighth Grade Participation), 9 (Age Limit), and 10 (Physical Examination and Parental Consent). At the varsity level, all eligibility rules apply.

I think now you can imply that TCa is better because they just won the championship. I guess those matchup advantages didn't quite work out.
