  1. What would this accomplish? To get better, you have to play the best teams available. For a D1 school, this is a no win situation. If they win, they are only beating up on a weaker team and not getting themselves "ready for the real season" and if they lose, they get embarrassed and ridiculed for being a weak team that can't even go down a division and win. The opposite is true for the D2 team. If they lose, they weren't supposed to win anyway..... it's a bigger, stronger school. If they win... wow, look how good we are, we beat up on an upper division school.
  2. those are all good predictions but beech is a great ball team and it is going to be hard for franklin to get past them unless they dont come out to play
  3. Franklin has a great left fielder but those fans get in your head so bad my son plays for a district 9 team and our left fielder is a great ball player but they ate him up and it destroyed his game for the rest of the night
  4. Does post season home runs count towards the record? I know preseason doesn't.
  5. I haven't seen either team play, but I agree... a 1-0 game with aces on the mound is not an upset, it's a heck of a ballgame.
  6. Riverdale won Beech won Blackman won Mt. Juliet won
  7. Riverdale, mount juliet, Beech, halls, ooltewah, collierville, germantown, bearden . im thinking Franklin could be a contender as well as farragut cause year in and year out you cant count them out .
  8. Just wanted to know if anyone had any predictions on anybody getting upset in the state single A all the way to AAA. Also who does everyone think will be the top eight teams going to the boro in each classification.
  9. Check out these links for complete statewide AAA brackets http://tssaa.org/2005Champions/StateBaseba...sAAA/Region.pdf http://chattanoogansports.com/brackets/TSS...ketsupdated.pdf
  10. If you'll notice on MJ's schedule, the Blackman loss was on Senior night when primary objective is not always in the win. However, if you want to point out weaknesses, we have lost to much weaker teams than Blackman. MJ usually have 20 hits..... or 2 hits. Not much inbetween. Typically, with starters like Cotham and Hill we draw each teams' best pitchers.
  11. I like this plan in general... with some changes. I appologize if I repeat someone's idea as I didn't read all the comments. Some divisions play a 3 game season against each conference opponent, but all 3 games are played in the same week. This would help take care of the 1 ace pitcher. I would then like to see the winner of the district's regular season automatically advance to the next level with some type of tournament to determine the #2 seed. You could concievably still have the same district playoff senario. The conference champion, automatically advances, but if someone places higher than them in the district tourney, the reg. season winner would drop to the #2 seed.
  12. Top 2 advance and MJ beat Beech last night 1-0.
  13. Gallatin and Smyrna should play at 4p and winner plays Beech at 7p. Winner of that will play MJ Wed. I cannot find this in writing anywhere, but that is the rumor. Concievably Beech and MJ could play 2 games Wed. if this is a true double elimination. Maybe I'm bias, but I say the winner of the top bracket be #1 and the winner of the bottom bracket be #2 and both advance without wearing down all the pitching. I believe the next level starts Thurs.
  14. MJ had bases loaded 3 different innings. This one could have been a lot more lopsided. Either poor hitting, or great pitching.....Beech's pitcher did a great job.
  15. AAA - Ooltewah, Mt. Juliet, South Doyle AA - USJ, Loretto A - Forrest,
