  1. Who does the seeding for this tournement? How is it done?
  2. I have to disagree about the fact of greeneville being one tweaked ankle or early foul trouble to fall to the back of their pack. If I recall Collins has been in foul trouble the past 3 or 4 games....Greeneville has won. Greeneville has more depth than anyone gives them credit. Greeneville's guards always seem to get the short end of the stick on everything, however they seem to be handling the pressure pretty good. Greeneville has also had more than Dickson and Mcyntire score in double digits this year.....Collins, Shipley, and Kelly have all had games with double figures. Any way you look at it everyone must realize that Greeneville does not rely on their offense....Their DEFENSE is what they are known for.
  3. Only team that should beat Greeneville this year would be the first round team the play in the Green Bank Classic. Other than that Greeneville should go undefeated into sub-state. Then sub-state will be a different story. There are a lot of teams from knoxville area that are good. Oakridge is very good.
  4. If you look at the past four years then Greeneville is definately the best team in Upper East Tennessee. I know South Greene was good during the time with Larry Ricker. Greeneville has made four straight state tournament appearences and look like they have a chance for a fifth this year.
  5. All I can say is that every game is going to have bad calls. That is part of it. No one is perfect. Teams should not let themselves get in a situation where a call at the end of the game can change the outcome. Play the way you should the first 31 minutes and you won't have to worry about crying about a call. Greeneville plays Elizabethton tonight. Elizabethton has size on the post, but don't see their post players scoring with their back to the basket. Greeneville wins tonight by 16.
  6. Greeneville seems to be rolling right now. I don't see anyone in the conference that is going to challenge them. Nicole Dickson is putting up double doubles every night and Devan Mcyntire is starting to put up some great numbers also. Raiderray what happened to Jeff County and their offense? Only 23 points in the first half? And then only 18 in the second? I thought they were better than that?
  7. I guess we will get to see the 2 Golden Girls play a good team tonight. Wonder how they will stop Greeneville?
  8. To really see some dominate post just travel down the road into the IMAC and look at Greeneville. Greeneville has some very good post players.
  9. Sorry Barb, but this game was not called very fair. If cocke county doesn't get the fouls on the big man early then it is a different ball game. I was there and watched it. I typically won't complain or say many negative things, but the officiating was one sided. I hope that it won't continue to be that way. Duncan is a good coach and for some reason tends to get a new player every year. Wether he recruits or players just want to play for him I don't know. I know that he does the best with what he has every year. Regardless if he recruits or if they flock to him He is a good coach. The Wiggins kid last year was a great asset. But we also have to realize that he lost a great player that went back to Florida also.
  10. Greeneville beat Cherokee 60 - 35. Dickson had 26 for Greeneville. By the time Dickson went out Cherokee had only scored four more points than her. Greeneville played their typical tough defense. Neither of the three for Cherokee could get into a rythm. The sophmores for Greeneville are starting to get in a flow with the other players. Greeneville will have a chance this weekend to defend their championship in the tournament held in Bristol. It seems like the IMAC will have another crazy season with the way the other games are going. I know that Jeff County beat Morristown East in three overtimes.
  11. Greeneville will continue to work and get better through the season and be there at the end. No one ever mentions that Greeneville is playing with three sophmores that have no experience at the varsity leve. So to play that tought of a schedule early on only helps them!!!
  12. I have to disagree totally with you on this. If you know anything about the program then you would not even make this comment. Burkey did little for Greeneville. He took a team to the state tournament for two years. However if you know how terrible the atmosphere was during his time then you would understand. The current coaches have taken a team to the state tournament the past two years also. I don't believe that credit for what they have accomplished the past two years goes to anyone but the current coaches. Examine and see what the current atmosphere is at Greeneville? One word will explain it DISCIPLINE! The team lost only 4 games last year. What an accomplishment. The winningest team in the schools history. They have lost 3 games this year, but to 3 teams that are top teams in the state of tennessee. What would you say is not so fantastic about the program now?????
  13. Flutterring meaning they really did not play as well toward the end....I thought they had some close games....wich probably could have been from not being in that situation before. I didn't mean anything bad, I would say that Science HIll has the greates upside of all the teams in the Big 9
  14. I was at the game last night and i would have to agree that the officiating was horrible. I do believe that some of the refs are intimidated when they come into the boy's games. I would have to say that the home cooking did not happen during the girls games. The fouls were in favor of your cocke county girls.
  15. Kind of funny that I have not heard or read anyone saying anything about Morristown East taking Greeneville down this year. I think the team that was supposed to compete with Greeneville this year just got beat by 14 last night. There are so many teams that could be good in the Big 9. I think with Science Hill you have to wait until the end of the season to see how the hold up. Last year they started strong and kind of fluttered toward the end. I think the success with South will depend on coaching.
  16. Greeneville dominated Cocke county the entire game. Cocke county never really threatened at any point in the game. Greeneville jumped out to a 14 - 2 lead. Dickson scored 20 of greeneville's first 24. Cocke county needs to find more ways to get Buda a shot. Depew didn't look as smooth as last year. I think that Cocke county losing the post from last year will really hurt Depew's numbers this year. Just a quick opinion before I hit the bed.
  17. So what did you exactly mean by a typical Crumbley game? With or without their starting point guard Greeneville still would have had a shot. I don't think that them missing one player would have made the ball game any different. Especially if you have an all American on your team. For those who went to the game can say that. The two teams on the floor had to diffent gears. I personally don't think that Webb hustled at all. Greeneville had a good game plan and played with a team that no one probably though would even be close. Look for Greeneville to dominate conference again and continue on their winning ways. As far as this Friday night I would go with Greeneville over cocke county. Until teams in the IMAC step up and play man instead of a zone then I don't see anyone else stopping Greeneville. Greeneville played three tough games to begin the season that gave them an opportunity to measure themselves. Look for the young players to continue to improve. By season end Greeneville will be hard to stop.
  18. Not real sure about that yet, they did het beat by Cherokee last night!!
  19. Well I have read enough of these comments to get sick. I have been trying to keep quiet until basketball season. I have been able to watch Greeneville at every game this year. I have also been able to watch South play this year also. We all know that Greeneville has struggled to catch the ball in the past two games. We also know that their defense has had to stay on the field longer than any coach would want. If you look at the history of these two teams that will suit up on Friday night then you can't say it will be a blow-out. Last year Greeneville should have won, but South's D stopped them. I think both teams have two great quarterbacks. Yes South's is rated higher and should be due to his performance. However I do think that Greeneville's quarterback is deserving of some respect also. I know his past has caused some to doubt him. He has made throw after throw that has been dropped this year. Look for these two quarterbacks to put on a show. If i was a betting man i would bet on South. South has proven themselves. I would love to pick Greeneville in this game, but I need to see them play consistent on offense. If Greeneville can play with that consistency then they may be able to pull out an upset. Regardless of the outcome look for both teams to finish strong in their respective conference. Good luck to both.
  20. For the record Greenway is still on the team. (Give the kid a break) He worked extremely hard in the offseason just to secure a spot on the team. With the new coaching staff at Greeneville there is no free rides. I believe that this years team is being overlooked by many people. They are not going to claim to win every game, but I guarantee this that they will be competitive in every game. No one has really commented on the scrimmage with TN High last week. Did anyone get to see it? From what I have heard Greeneville beat them in that scrimmage. Does anyone have any other imput? For the IMAC I would have to go with Morristown West to win it again this year. When you return a lot of starters on defense then you have a good chance of being good again. Defense is very important in the game of football. However I do think that anyone in 4A in this region will have to get past Sullivan South. Greeneville scrimmages South Doyle tonight at Greeneville.
  21. You won't find anything there. Contact Joe Ebarb.
  22. USSSA will be a good thing for the people in Tennessee. I think with more tournaments that the process will get smoother. I am thankful that someone has decided to get this started. It sure is a lot cheaper than AAU. More tournaments and more teams just means more opportunities for growth. It really does not matter where the tournament is hosted. What matters is that everyone can work together to make this thing grow. Regardless of who or where we just need to be patient. Thanks again for hosting.
  23. Depends on how much the TSSAA watches the fall leagues. I personally think it will hinder the fall leagues. But how is the TSSAA going to monitor it?
