Just because Harriman beat Sunbright by 10 doesn't mean squat, and just because OS and Unaka beat Harriman by the same score doesn't mean squat. We are talking about the game of baseball here. I have seen many crazy things happen on any given day. Each team has to lace up their cleats everyday just like the other.

Harriman is one of those teams that try to intimidate the teams they play by running their mouth. OS didn't pay much attention to the squaking that the blue devils did, and Harriman shut up pretty quick once OS starting putting runs on the board.

Harriman has a good ace in Cummings. He throws pretty hard, probably low 80's. As for their hitting, they didn't impress me to much. Their 1-5 hitters have power, but are mostly dead pull. OS pitcher Blake Leach did a good job of making most of them hit ground balls which ended up being outs. I believe they only had 3 or 4 hits in the game tonight.

Does anyone know how well the Region 1 teams match up with OS and Harriman?

Rockwood is a great hitting team and only put up 6 runs on the bobcats. I wouldn't consider that getting rocked. And Harriman will probably throw baker

Congrats to the bobcats tonight with a big win over the tigers. The Justice boys had some bombs that still haven't landed that helped the bobcats win 16-6. Congrats to Rockwood on a good season. They have a great team, and are loaded with talent. Good luck to OS Wednesday against Harriman.

Your right, I am glad these games are played on the field. and on the field OS beat Sunbright 17-1. Looks like their chances didn't improve to much. Congrats to the bobcats on putting the last nail in the coffin and winning the district.

I agree, OS is capable of getting through the region if they play the way they can. Sunbright can play perfect baseball and I would still take Harriman or Rockwood any day of the week.

Tonight was a good night for baseball. Sunbright barely squeaked by Oakdale 1-0, and OS beat Coalfield 10-0. Sunbright will play Coalfield tomorrow to decide which one goes home and which team plays OS in the championship on Thursday. Good look to all the teams still left.

I don't see why say OS makes excuses for losing considering they went 10-0 in the district, but that was a really good try. It is gonna be a great tournament. Good luck to the jackets and the bobcats tonight.

I believe that sunbright will go down to Coalfield in the semi-finals. Plus Coalfield has a better chance with OS in the championship than Sunbright does. But I don't think either one of them will upset the bobcats come tournament time.

Sunbright is no where close to a #6 in the state team. I saw OS beat them in 5 inn. last night and the bobcats didn't hit near as well as they usually do. But it's almost tournament time, so it's time for these boys to put or shut up

OS did dominate that sixth inning. They really put some runs on the board, and Clinton just couldn't match it.

The catcher did not break his hand. His hand was already broken. He has been playing with it like that for sometime. The throw must have hit his hand in some way, which made him mad.

Yes the batter was in the batter's box, and there were Clinton fans yelling at the catcher. This is when Justice's dad stepped in. The Clinton fan continued to try to get the last word in, which was not the smartest thing to do, considering he was mouthing at a man that is about 6'5 and could definitely put a hurting a man. I agree, it did get out of hand quick, but the Clinton fans were out of line.

Well lets think about this a minute. Sunbright did not hit the ball well. At least 10 of their hits were dink hits right over the infield, but that is what happens when you just stick your bat out at the ball. Also, OS had 8 errors that helped Sunbright tremendously. And you say that only 1 or 2 runs were earned, Kelley not only hit 1, but 2 homeruns that accounted for 4 runs that were definitely earned. Kelley only gave up about 2 earned runs due to the OS errors, or the bad news bears baseball that OS was playing.

CYJacket, I agree with you in one area. This game was not factored by OS errors. This game was so close because OS just played down to Coalfield's level. The weather conditions were tough for both teams to play in, and I personally thought Coalfield played about as solid of a game that they are gonna play against OS. However, OS did not hit the ball the way they normally do througout the entire game, played sloppy defense, didn't have much intesity, and still won the game. That tells me that if OS plays baseball the way they can then Coalfield doesn't even make it a ballgame.

Yeah buddy if you say so! I believe that one when my crap turns purple and taste like rainbow sherbert! It will be very tough for Coalfield's bats compete with the bobcats period, and there is no way they will take care of OS in 5.

os has a few guys that can come in and give them a couple of innings here and there if they need to. I think that the chances of Coalfield winning tonight are slim to none. OS is just too good for Coalfield to hang with for all 7 innings.

os had 6 errors in the rockwood game and still came out with the win. If os plays defense the way that they can then they are a very tough team to beat.

Os gained some respect tonight by beating Rockwood 5 to 4. The game was 5 to 1 until the last inning. I think that os has a very good chance of winning their region this year, and might very well have a chance to make it to state. They have looked very impressive so far this season.

If I'm not mistaken, I heard that OS beat Coalfield 10-2. That is not really hanging with them is it?

there was no punches thrown, just some pushing and shoving towards the end of the game. I didn't say Cosby wasn't a good team because they are. I just said I was nearly as impressed as I thought I would be, and beating Coalfield by 30 isn't sayin too much either.
