  1. Great game and great atmosphere. Congratulations to both teams. Although Franklin won 14 - 10, BGA gave them all they wanted. BGA's defense did a great job keeping Franklin's offense off balance throughout most of the game but wore down in the end. #4 for Franklin has got some sho nuff wheels, as his 55 yard interception return for a touchdown showed. Good luck to both teams the rest of the season.
  2. FYI, the BGA middle school team beat Freedom 14 - 6 last Thursday. Now what is your point?
  3. I am looking for some games to play during the week at our field at Battle Ground Academy in Franklin. I have a group of mostly 13 yr old girls together this summer and we are looking for some games. If you'd rather play than practice before your next tournament, email me at ctmanning@battlegroundacademy.org.
  4. Congratulations to Coach Stacy & Coach Laurie and the Lady Bears on your state championship. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  5. The wettest months in this area are: March 5.78" May 5.68" Dec 5.42" The driest months are: October 3.27" August 3.57" Sept 3.90" The 2 wettest months are during the current softball season. Moving to the fall will put it with the 2 driest months.
  6. Try Nashville Sporting Goods - ask for Wayne Neely
  7. Are the Renfroes still at Trinity?
  8. So you take a great post from a young man who is a player and respond to it that way. Who is the immature one now? Read the player's post carefully and I understand why parents shouldn't post on here!
  9. In Little League, where parents pay money for their child to participate, the emphasis should be on participation. It is a delicate balance to coach fundamentals, reward harder working more commited kids, win games and get all players in the game. After the first O & D series, I would put weaker players in but make sure stronger players surrounded them in the lineup. That way, I wouldn't be putting them all in at once. I'm not saying playing time should be equal, but they do need to get into every game. In middle school, where parents do not pay money for their child to participate, the emphasis should be on playing the more talented and commited kids while maintaining a positive team experience for all. This is the level where the less commited and weaker players will start to find other things to do.
  10. I am seeking information on putting a travel team together - ie. what is needed, insurance, list of tournaments, etc. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
  11. Thanks and good luck to Coach Sneed and the Lady Knights.
  12. Any word on the outcome?
  13. The #3 seed from the Middle region is Battle Ground Academy. They will be the 5th seed Middle/East team and will play at the winner of the GPS/Pope John Paul game.
  14. They have just completed the softball locker room onto the indoor training facility and it is very impressive. Plans are in the works to upgrade the field to include sodded grass around the perimeter of the infield, brick backstop and other improvements. Softball is finally starting to pick up over there.
  15. On November 17th, University of Tennessee softball players Shannon Doepking, Megan Rhodes, Kenora Posey, Tonya Callahan and Erinn Webb will be hosting a clinic at Battle Ground Academy’s softball field and indoor training facility from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. To register and for more information, go to www.battlegroundacademy.org and click on News & Calendar.
  16. The top 3 teams from the west region and the top 5 teams from the middle/east region. This is based on region records.
  17. What happens when a small school that doesn't have a band is playing against a larger school that does have a band? Would the small school fans be allowed to use air horns, cow bells, etc. since, technically all band instruments are "artificial noisemakers"? Don't get me wrong, I also love to see it loud and rowdy at games. The louder, the better. It DOES pump up the players. I guess what I'm asking is what can a school without a band do to make noise without being penalized if bands are allowed to play?
  18. Coach U has done a very good job utilizing all of the talent this year. A balanced attack with a much improved line play this year is paying off. A new defensive scheme to match the personnel has also contributed to the success. Good senior class with underclassmen providing some depth that has been lacking the last 3 years.
  19. Are there any rules regarding bands playing during a game especially while the opposing offense is running a play?
  20. ECS aint as good as every one is sayin they are, they have played to soft teams there opening games, while BGA played probably the top 2A team this year. BGA will use their recivers and speed to knock of the state champions and get the attention of many ppl. BGA will surprise everyone this week, especially you utfootball08, this team will go far this year, i guarentee that.
  21. Thanks for the update. He is a great kid from a great family. I wish him well.
