I have been reading these posts for quite a long time now, and I finally decided to put my two cents in. I had the opportunity to coach with Coach Satterfield for three years as one of his assistant coaches. I truly believe that if those of you who are true fans will allow him to install his patented discipline and football knowledge of these young men than you will be more than excited with the outcome. He is a man of character that will make these young men not only better football players, but even more important he will make them better men. I have also had the opportunity to coach at the college were Coach Conner played, the chiefs are getting a great upcoming young coach. Like Coach Conner, I too had the privilege of having Coach S as my first head coach, and I now that Coach Conner will learn much from him. On a side note, I had the fortune to play at Loudon High School when we stunk, and then when we got Coach Tim Daniels, and with his leadership we were able to put out some great teams. The firs thing that he had to do was change the attitude of everyone involved- asst. coaches, players, school, and communiity. The funny thing was, it was the community that took the longest, funny that it takes the adults longer than the kids. Remember to focus on the positive, winning just like losing is contagious. Red Bank wins this game with superior coaching. Coach Daniels is a great head coach and an even better person.

I have seen coach Strickland as an assistant coach and as a head coach, don't really believe that Oakdale should get their hopes up. Good enough guy, just do not think that he can get it done as a head coach.

I played for Coach D at Loudon during his tenure there, and we were the first team from TN to play a team from Canada in 1995. They had to play by TSSAA rules and sanctions. It was a great experience for all. The game was played on a Sat. afternoon and on Friday night each Loudon player hosted a player from North Park, Canada at their homes. By the way, we ended up beating them pretty bad.

I believe that the Redskins will win. Yet, in a rival game you must throw out records, stats, etc. Loudon simply has to much talent not to win this game. Cambell and Hawkins might that best one- two running back combo in East TN.

While I do not want to offer an opinion on why Coach Reid left. I would like to add my honest opinion on the coaching search. I believe that if Coach Nix applies that he would be an excellent choice. The passion and the football knowledge that he has would allow for the great Alcoa tradition to continue. I have known Brian as a teammate and have followed his coaching, and can honestly say that I believe that he would be a great choice. The other big positive that Brian has is that is is very disciplined and expects his players to have the same amount.

No offense but I do not know if I would classify this as an upset. Greenback has a long tradition in womens b- ball. Also, they are the current regular season and tourney champs. Aren't they also ranked number 1 in the region tourney?

I do not know anything about Oakdale, except for the fact that they play in a very tough district. With that being said, I would not count out Greenback to fair pretty decent in this tourney. For one, they have two pretty good guards in Butcher and Grimshaw who can distribute as well score. Second, the have Hammontree in the post. Third, is the fact that Sparks and Hooper can give some valuble time and good b- ball presence. And last but not least, the fact that Coach Lucier will have her team ready to play. She has tremendous experience, and is probably tired of being close but no cigar. She' s ready to take it to the next level. Which I believe is evident if you look at the schedule that Greenback played. P.S. Congrats ladies on a fine season and District Championship and Tourney Title.

trojan42scot, I agree that Brandon should be able to bring his energy to that once proud program. I also hope that Goose will remain and provide his knowledge and work ethic. It is always good to see former Scots being able to use their talents. P.S. I hope everything is going well for you. Tell Coach D to keep up the great work that you all are doing.
