  1. Grace does not have better athletes. Maybe better students, but Grundy's little QB could be Grace by himself.
  2. JB certainly did not intentionally walk the big man. Actually, the count was 3-0, when instead of throwing ball four and putting him on, he fired two inside pitches for strikes before missing high for ball four. As far as JB is concerned he has to be the most underrated player in our area. He does not have a loss in over two seasons on the mound and this year his ERA is 0.00. He is also hitting around .500 and has one of the best gloves around. And before somebody asks no I'm not any relation to him but would be proud if I was.
  3. We sure are going to miss those GARGANTUAN BLASTS though!!! Best of luck to you.
  4. Congratulations from the Marion County Warriors.
  5. Thanks. You guys have a great team. I'm sure we'll see you again sometime in 08. Until then good luck.
  6. If you played terrible then maybe you are ... /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  7. Good luck from your neighbors in Marion County. We'll see you at Boro'.
  8. That was by far not our best game if that's what your thinking and when was the last time someone said "We played great and got beat." NEVER!
  9. Here is a little food for thought this group of kids have accomplished the following: 4 Dizzy Dean State Championships in different age groups. Combined Middle School record of 62-8 06 and 07 District Champs Won 16 of last 18. So to say they aren't talented is ridiculous. We continue to fly under the radar because we are so young and didn't start playing well until the last half of the season. As far pitching is concerned its all about location anyone can hit a fastball down the middle. Bottom line our guys can hit their spots. I'm pretty sure there is a guy named Maddux who has made a pretty good living doing the same. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  10. Go Coffee Co. !! From the Marion Co. Warriors.
  11. Rodney Dangerfield 7 Meigs 5 Marion doesn't throw number 2 guy and still wins. Imagine that!! Mexican don't play the lotto tonight your numbers are all wrong.
  12. Honestly, why would you throw your number 2 guy? This game isn't as important as Friday's which is a given. Marion will throw 3, 4, or 5 which are as good as any.
  13. Eric went on to play four years at UT and win a national championship! He played 5 years in the NFL. He totaled deserved his Mr. Football. However I believe the best ever would have to be Leroy Thompson from Austin East in 1986. Unbelievable combination of size and speed. Single handedly beat Brentwood Academy in the Clinic Bowl. He went on to play at Penn State and the NFL.
  14. Good luck next week Coach Barger. Keep it up buddy!
  15. Actually JMS plays CCS, Red Bank, and Ocoee, and last year faired very well. Split with CCS and RB. Beat Ocoee in a Christmas tournament as well. Warrior Basketball will be fine in a few years. Right now they are very young. My guess is they will start one senior, one junior and three sophomores. Many freshmen and sophmores could see playing time. If these young men stick with it they will be a fine basketball team before it is all said and done.
  16. Extra crispy please. Comment wasn't directed to you only BC Powderhead . Bledsoe played well. Good luck the rest of the season.
  17. Somebody needs to reserve you a room! We are still playing Bledsoe tonight aren't we? The real warriors, thats the funniest thing I have ever heard. You guys have beat us once in past 30 years and you think it's going to happen again tonight. No way! It's Marion County Warriors, not Kimball or South Crossroads although if they had a team they would beat your Warriors. Good luck tonight and congrats on your Jamboree Championship!!!
  18. Who was the player that got ejected? TSSAA rules state that if you are ejected during a game then you can not play in the next one.
  19. I was fortunate to see Tana play several times in middle school and as far as technique and effort goes Eddie is better. However no one will probably be as great a physical specimen as Tana was at that age. Since middle school Coach Rose has gotten that lazy out of Tana and he will be one of the best players ever to play in this area.
  20. I believe the Pirates are where they need to be. They only have about 220 students roughly, so it's not like theyre one of the bigger 1a schools. I believe they could compete in the higher classifications. I'm not sure about winning championships but they could make a run in the playoffs. Yes they are in a weak region and traditional 1a powers such as Greenback and Oneida aren't what they used to by but you've still got Trousdale, FCS, and Gordonsville to contend with.
  21. That's ashame too, because he would have been a nice addition to an already very good BMS team.
  22. Eddie Sharp is his name. He played last year as a 7th grader at Bledsoe. I believe his dad played for Bledsoe in the 80's. I am not sure what happened, but now he is at Rhea Central. Big physical runner with speed to boot.
  23. Here is how I see it: South Pittsburg vs Grundy will never happen. Just as they found players to play Whitwell last week they will mysteriously lose them this week instead of having to play South Pittsburg. Jasper gets back on track and beats Bridgeport by 13. Spring City over Dayton City by 6 Rhea Central beats Bledsoe by 16. Its the Eddie show!! He reminds me of alot of Tana Patrick from several years back. RC however is not a one man show. The fullback is also a very good runner. Whitwell defeats Seq. County by 8. The quick Downum kid is the difference.
