  1. Thanks for explaining that - now it makes sense. Sorry if I stepped on some toes. I feel no one would dispute the top 4 -5 spots in the rankings in the different divisions but after that there are a dozen or so quality teams out there that can fit into the next 6 spots. It is very subjective and strength of schedule is one of the main ways of sorting it out
  2. Answer #1 9/11/08 Greeneville 6 Science Hill 3 9/23/08 Greeneville 10 Jeff County 0 9/28/08 Greeneville 6 Crockett 0 Answer #2 Probably because I'm more obsessive about Greeneville's schedule. But if you notice, Notre Dame, Baylor and Brentwood Academy are ranked on AAA opponent schedules. Eurosport can sometimes be difficult to follow. I did overlook Soddy's ranked opponents and called myself on that point after reviewing to the other divisions rankings.
  3. Eurosport does not have all of Greeneville's schedule posted - they are 12-6-1 as of last pm. Also, I looked at the AAA rankings today. There the schedule shows the only ranked teams SD played are Notre Dame and Riverdale - so I missed ND. If you go to AA/A and D11 I see that indeed GPS and CCS are ranked, so the AAA schedule is misleading. My apologies to Soddy-Daisy
  4. Greeneville has 12 wins and 6 losses. 5 of those losses were against teams currently ranked in the top 10; 1 was against a previously ranked team (Dobyns-Bennett). 2 losses were blow-outs (Oak Ridge and Bearden - both 5-0 scores) The other games all very close. 3 losses were by 1 goal scored late in the game (ECS, Briarcrest, DobynsBennett); The Farragut loss was by a goal scored on an early direct just outside the 18 without any further scoring. Then I look at the Eurosport rankings for AAA. There's Gtown Houston at #10 with a 10-5-1 record who also lost to all its ranked opponents; Soddy-Daisy at #8 with an impressive sounding 13-1-0 record but its only game against a ranked team is a loss to Riverdale; Then Riverdale at #11 with a 12-2-1 record with only 3 games against ranked teams winning 1(see Soddy-Daisy above) and losing 2. No way do I think Greeneville should be ranked but looks like you can either pad your schedule and get ranked or run with the big dogs and get experience for the post season.
  5. Aly Carrino - Greeneville. I think it's not only a great action shot but also an inspiration to those players out there who sustain that type of injury.

  7. Farragut 1 Greeneville 0 Farragut scored mid-way through the 1st half on a direct kick just outside the 18
  8. Dobyns-Bennett Invitational games today Greeneville 6 David Crockett 0 Greeneville 1 Science Hill 1
  9. Taylor Leng, Sophomore, Greeneville mid-fielder; only about 5'1" but fearless, deceptively strong for her size and very quick. She plays 80 minutes and never stops running. Started every game as a Freshman; All-Region Team last year; All-Tournament team at Katie Hunter this year.
  10. Greeneville's new soccer complex opens for play. http://greenevillesun.com/story/297686
  11. Dobyns Bennett 2 Greeneville 1 Great game. 1-1 at the half. Dobyns Bennett scored the game winner in the 80th minute
  12. This was a copy/paste of the email sent to our coach from Katie Hunter officials. I pulled it up on the web site and it looks like a couple of St Agnes players are different. Not sure why. http://www.ladywildcatsoccer.org/katiehunt...lltourny08.html

  14. Greeneville lost 5 Seniors. 2 were all-state and 4 are now playing college ball. It will be hard to replace that kind of loss. One silver lining is last years Freshman class which was loaded. Several started last year and most played in several games including playoffs so they are somewhat seasoned. Greeneville should make a good showing but I kind of agree with easttnref's opinion as stated above.
  15. I see him every day at my daughter's practice and occasionally play against him in adult league (he still has the moves for a 50+ old man). I'll let him know.
