  1. Same from me. Congrats to the girls - Greeeneville is proud of you all. Coach Eiskamp coached both my kids at GHS almost a decade ago. He is an excellent coach and has been role model for our kids in Greene County for > 20 years. A class act. Well deserved John - thank you.
  2. Since you found it necessary to post the above on 2 different threads, I'll copy and paste my reply to you from that other thread: Posts: 201 Joined: Tue Feb 28, 2006 9:00 pm Re: Page Lady Patriots by Ilovethisgame » Thu Nov 05, 2009 1:22 pm I was at the 22-0 Cocke County game a few years ago as my daughter played as a Freshman. Now Cocke County is a school with a student body close to 2000 students while Greeneville has about 850. Prior to the game the CC coach told Greenville's coach Eiskamp they were mismatched in talent but not to toy with her team by not trying to play and score. She felt toying with them would be more embarrassing than losing by a lopped sided score. The score was 5-0 within 5 minutes. The starters were pulled and JV went in. The scorewent to 10-0 and the JV was pulled and the Freshman team went in. It got worse and the Freshman defense was put on offense and the offense on defense. The score went to 22-0. Their goalie didn't even try stopping the ball. What would you do under those circumstances? This years Cumberland Gap game is similar as they are a new program. Look at the scores of other teams who played Cumberland Gap. There are many teams out there playing in similar situations. Page and Greeneville both are playing in conferences with markedly weaker teams that they must play. Look at Greeneville's non-conference schedule though and you can see Eiskamp trys to make up for it by playing the best whenever he can. 4. There is no private/parochial school in Greeneville. Tusculum College has an influence on the soccer community here since it is such a strong D2 program and many of its soccer alumni stay in the area and either coach or have children in club program. The Greenville Soccer Association is to be commended on its club program since this is basically a very rural (and rabid football) area. The city population is 15,000 and county about 75,000 yet both Chuckey-Doak and Greeneville high have made it to States. I'm sure if Greeneville had been AA all along, several of its previous teams would have been to States.
  5. Great game. Maryville scored first. Greeneville tied it with about 6 minutes to go and got the go ahead with less than 1 minute left in the game.
  6. My son played on a U15 boys club team which was routinely beaten by 15 goals or more. It was the most humiliating season of his soccer life. It was painful as a parent to watch and more painful for him to play out the season. He went on to play in college but never forgot that season. Having gone through that with him, I am in favor of the "elite" program on the field on any given day show some sportsmanship and consideration for the other team.
  7. Farragut at Greeneville on Tuesday
  8. Greeneville 6 Jefferson County 1
  9. GreenEville has only 2 seniors on their team - neither started as juniors. The core of the team is the incoming Junior class of about 11 girls most of whom started as Sophmores and all play together on the Galaxy club team. With the move to AA, I'd agree with MVM that Greeneville is a pre-season fav for a state run both this year and next.

  11. Congrats to my daughter (in black) on a great season and great career. http://www.ladywildcatsoccer.org/photos/gr...ectional_12.jpg
  12. I too am a graduating CoachT poster. My daughter is a Senior and played her last high school game 10 days ago. After 7 years of high school soccer (my son graduated 3 years ago) and too many years of club ball to count, I find myself depressed. Although my son went on to play in college as will my daughter, there is just something missing in the college experiance vs HS for both the players and parents (could part of it be CoachT?). I have tried to follow DonC's rules for CoachT posting but unfortunately being a hot headed Italian I have at times failed. If I offended any of you out there, I'm sorry. I will continue to follow my kid's alma-mater and area high school soccer in the future just because Ilovethisgame (I too played in high school about 4 decades ago) but it just won't be the same. However, my 5 year old grandson seems to be a natural with a soccer ball, so I may be back in about 10 years. Big G thanks for an outstanding job as moderator for this board all these years and DonC I have some questions about a particular college in the Chattanooga area. Would you mind if I emailed you with them?
  13. Greeneville loses 7 Seniors/ 4 starters. Of the remaining starters 1 is a Junior the rest Sophomores. Two Sophomores on the bench (GK and Forward) would have started this year on most other teams in Region 1 AAA. Greeneville should do well in AA next year.
  14. Oak Ridge 3 Greeneville 0 0-0 at the half....wore us out in the end....congrats to OR...great game (sorry for the comments G)
  15. Dobyns-Bennett over Greeneville 2-1 in OT http://greenevillesun.com/story/299032
  16. Dobyns-Bennett 2 Greeneville 1 DB scored late in the 2nd OT period
  17. For a town with a population of only 15,000 Greeneville is an extremely active soccer community. The Greeneville Soccer Association has it own indoor practice field and just opened it's 3 field outdoor complex which has already hosted several traveling team tournaments. The Galaxy Program is very strong starting with the U-10's and going up from there. The program attracts players from the surrounding counties in fact several girls playing for Science Hill HS in Johnson City and Sullivan South in Kingsport are current members of Greeneville Galaxy U-16 and U-17 girls teams. There is a year round Rec league for all age groups and thanks to Tusculum College's awesome indoor facility it doesn't slow down in the winter. In fact the Winter and Summer adult league is very robust with a number of ex-Tusculum and Carson-Newman soccer players who have graduated and remained in the community playing along side the high schoolers. I'm sure having Tusculum's strong D2 college program in our backyard also helps. The current GHS girl's team is mostly Sophmores and Freshmen with a few Juniors and Seniors so they should be strong in AA for awhile.
  18. Greeneville over Science Hill 6-1 in Region 1 Semi final http://greenevillesun.com/story/298972
  19. District 2 Finals Greeneville 3 Morristown West 1
  20. In today's issue of the Greeneville Sun GHS Girls Soccer Up For Award " The Greeneville High School Lady Devil soccer team has been nominated for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic Award. A team must have a minimum 3.25 GPA based on a 4.0 scale. For 2007-2008 the Lady Devils had an overall GPA of 3.79. If awarded, the team members will receive certificates in December and recognition at the NSCAA convention in St. Louis in January 2009". Not too bad considering there is like 30 girls on the team. Congrats to the girls and Coach Eiskamp.
  21. Greeneville moving down to AA. With a student body of 769 (per TSSAA) Greeneville has "played up" a division to AAA for many years. Starting next year they will move to AA. http://greenevillesun.com/story/298736
  22. Greeneville grads at Tusculum College http://greenevillesun.com/story/297997
  23. I did - a month ago. I was able to add some but not others and I'm not sure why. Sent 2 emails to the board contact without a reply. Finally gave up since the season is almost over.
