Obviously this region is definitely loaded and may be the toughest region in the state this year the way teams keep beating up on each other.

Let's substitute Jackson Northside where Fayette Ware is listed with Obion Central the victor.

So much for my predictions, as well. As I said, I find it hard to predict accurately which two it will be that make it to STATE, only harder maybe to predict now. But, to be the best, you gotta beat the best. Crank it up LADY REBELS. Those Indians wil be on the warpath now. Obviously, we know for sure that they are beatable. Let's make it two losses in a row for the Northside Lady Indians.

You gotta be kiddin. What an upset? Or was it. Score? Either way we have to go thru the two to make it to State. As the saying goes, you got to beat the best to be the best. Will a bus be taken for pep fans, etc. do you think?

I add congratulations to Jana Roney for being a Miss Basketball finalist in AA. Pretty awesome that our region has two of the three finalists.

How are the finalists selected?

To Lady Rebels, Lady Trojans, Lady Chargers, and Lady Bulldogs: keep your eyes focused on what you need to do in the first round of the region so that District 13AA has all in the final four. No game is a gimme, so play hard no matter whom you are playing. It would be nice to have all four of our teams in the state as good as they are this year, but we know that is not possible. So remember there are games to play only if you survive the first round. Each team has given many fond memories to their fans in 2006-07. God bless each of you!

auntkim, I thought the same thing and did not plan to respond. But after reading your post, I just laughed and laughed and laughed. I am even laughing while posting this replay.

If I remember correctly, there was a tie with the Martin Westview and Milan coaches getting Coach of the Year and Jana Roney of OC getting the Most Valuable Player of the Year. They gave out academic district awards for 90+ average evidently to seniors. I don't remember all the Tournament Most Valuable Players other than a few, and I would not want to leave some out.

I agree with your predictions on the Region Final 4. I think the two teams that come out of this region will again play for the state championship. I know who I prefer to win it all, but honestly I find it hard to predict acurately which two that will be. So many factors to figure in. Go OC Lady Rebels

You will get your chance most likely to see them play if you go to the 'Boro at the boys' state tournamnet. Fasten your seatbelt, though, and have plenty of snacks.

Congratulations to the UC Tornadoes. I wonder if the 130 points by one team is a record in tournament play. I bet the 223 points by two teams in tournament play is a record. How many three's were hit by each team?

Step I accomplished. Good full game Lady Rebels. And congrats. to the Dyersburg Lady Trojans. I am totally suprised that Westview only scored 23 points in the entire game. What a shock!

Floydpink, I had bet that when I wrote that scenario ( I am impressed with your spelling) that you would like it because Milan and OC are both capable of doing that exact thing tonight. I honestly believe though that it fits OC Lady Rebels best however. I have no doubt that there could easily be another match up between Westview and OC or MIlan and OC or even Westview and OC. Again that is how strong and good all our teams are. I think we probably should all apprreciate the quality of our own and each others' teams more. Emotions do run deep in ourselves as well as the teams that we support. I will be for Milan beating Northside jsut as you would be for OC beating Northside. Still, play hard Lady Rebels and win tonight.

Have not been in his huddles and don't know personally about them, but you are getting a highly respected football coach and I think a very nice man for 2007 that will be good for the players.

Here's the strategy to get to the finals at the 'Boro. (if I have my order correct.) I. District consolation game. a. Play hard all four quarters which can be done. b. Win the consolation game and get your momentum back. c. You travel to Fayette Ware. II. 1st Round of the Regional a. Win or go home for the year. b. You play a good game at Fayette Ware and win if rankings mean anything. c. You have momentum now and get to play at Gibson Co. III. 2nd Round of Regionals a. You play hard all four quarters. b. You win regardless of the opponent because you do well in the gym at Gibson Co. c. THis game is very important because it may decide the winner of the state tournament. IV. Regional Finals a. This will again be a great game between two highly ranked teams. b. You need to be on your A-game and win this one. c. You are now in the driver's seat and get to host the Sub-State at your place. V. Sub-State at Home a. Winner advances to state. b. You and your fellow distirct team are now in the driver's seat to win the State. VI. State Tournament a. Win 1st Round b. Win 2nd Round c. Win 3rd Round and You Are The Champions d. Relax - for you have earned it. You have survived the hardest district in the state this year. The team that I am talking about. Go OC Lady Rebels.

Thanks for repsonding. Being of unsound mind and forgetful body or is it unsound body and forgetful mind, I will probably have to inquire again in the future about the McMinns. DB was one of the referees in the girls' game, and was the referee that the coach was having the argument with. He was not the one that gave the techinical, however. He probably could have and maybe should have but had walked off when DJ came over.

Hey, you finally are communicating tonight. Check out the "Dialogue with bhhvols" on the boys threads that I left you as I noticed some scores about McMinn teams. Probably on page two by now. Will probably and hopefully see you at the 'boro and I will bring my non-athletic brother.

Thank you red birdfan, bithoc, and floydpink for your explanations. I still say that the ref from the other end should have just let things lie. I do believe that Joiner overall is a good referee but his body language and the way he went over to the OC huddle bothered me and showed he was intent on calling a technical and having the last word. A coach has the right and responsibility for standing up for his or her players.

Wow! Wow! Wow! I always think it is okay to have at least one defeat before tournaments? It will definitely make Gleason harder to beat! That is what makes the tournaments a true second season. Also, congrats to UC on their win. Lake County-Union City playing each other for District Title. Not expected!

Hey bhhvols: Do you pull for McMinn Co. or McMinn Central? I stiil am in the dark about that school organization of McMinn this and McMinn that. I need a reply, o great neph. And by the way, guess who asked me if we had another trip planned to the state tournament in the 'boro. And did I think UC would make it to the state? So I should have said does a basketball game use a basketball? Can a dog get fleas? I think he enjoyed the trip last year. I told him to plan on taking some days off cause UC is gonna go unless we fall off Earth. I just hope I get to make trips on consecutive weeks.

I don't like to be too critical of the referees, but one call could have cost the game for Milan last night when he anticipated a foul there at the last of the game with Milan behind by one point . As a result Polston fouled out and Dyersburg would up winning by 3 points after hitting 2 fould shots. And the referee from Milan should have stayed out of the controversy toward the last of the game between WV and OC. It seems a certain referee was intent on getting in the last word and wanted to give a technical to the OC coach. Could his being from Milan and OC losing and playing Milan in their consolation game knowing that Milan and OC had split games and Westview beating Milan twice have influenced that call? And yes, I realize that OC should have not been in that situation to start with. With critical games on the line during tournaments, neutral referees need to be calling the games.
