  1. You realize that Scribner had ACL surgery just a couple weeks ago? Not sure where you are getting your info. Imagine if Winn, McDonald and Yates had season ending injuries. Think about that. Regardless, Dresden was better team and would've been tough to beat even if UC was healthy. UC only had 7 seniors this year and was down to 1 healthy. This simply wasn't no where near the caliber of UC teams of the past. Reference the jamboree game against Haywood where UC wasn't even close.
  2. I would do some research on your end before you call out swo. I wouldn't be pushing the issue and antagonizing people like nothing happened and this was all made up. You wouldn't want this video to end up on YouTube. Doesn't shed a good light on the Trenton program truthfully. It's sad because I'm sure that most are great kids, but one bad apple spoils the batch and a riot style atmosphere broke out.
  3. When they write columns ranking "the dirty dozen...the best in west Tennessee" and not include Obion county (which is less than an hour drive from Jackson) not only is it highly disrespectful but it's truthfully bad journalism and false advertising. Here you have a team that has a 38 game win streak which is one of the top 14 longest streaks nationally, yet they refuse to cover it. It's one of the reasons my business will never advertise with them. My .02
  4. You can also say: • uc turned it over on qb exchange within the ten about to score • uc took a stupid pass bomb attempt with 8secs before half for a pick six. Should of let clock expire and go to half. • uc had a interception called off due to a stupid helmet to helmet call at the line. Dresden scored four plays later • And....uc ran the clock out at end of game on the ten about to score again and go up 42-18. Point is, this game could of been wayyyy worse as well than the score showed if you want to point out certain plays.
  5. I would much rather read about factual information (stats) regarding a game and come up with my own conclusion rather than hearing someone tell me their opinion and analysis of the game. Besides, the main stat is the final score anyways obviously, so if stats were not important then we wouldn't keep score and just let others that watched it give there opinion of how the game went and that would be it.
  6. "Union people"??? Might want to ask this question on another forum for your answer. You think Im joking cause Im not.
  7. I wish you could see a picture of the field that we played on back in the 80's at Jo Byrns. It was bad, real bad. These boys playing now don't know how good they have it with a brand new field house, weight room, descent field, and pretty nice stands. As for UC I'm glad they have something that nice. I'm sure they got a lot of that nice stuff when the school was a lot more populated, plus it's obvious the people love their football, and try to give the kids a first class facility. I sure don't see anything wrong with that. There's nothing wrong with it at all. A laptop for every student and teacher in the school might be cheaper though. They have that as well.....in the library there are laptops for students to check out and take home with them just like library books. I'm being serious. Union City is extremely blessed when it comes to facilites and technology.
  8. From what I have been told, Jabriel could not hold Terrell's jockstrap. Terrell is a stud on both sides of the ball. Jabriel may be the real deal, but I can guarantee if you saw Terrell play, you would not be doubting his ability....just ask all the teams we have played this year. UC will have trouble with Terrell...mark that down. No one we have played has shut him down....not even Polk County. Ask the Boyd fans if they would want to play us again with a healthy Terrell Robinson. My point is, many players are overlooked in 1A football. Terrell is not blinding fast, but has good speed, a great arm, and is a great leader on the field. Man lay off the Pirate Kool-Aid. Terrell is an outstanding player no doubt....but to say this "Jabriel could not hold Terrell's jockstrap" is totally absurd. Terrell is going to UTC and does not have any other major offers listed on his rivals page. Jabriel is only a JR. and has OFFERS from many of the major programs in the nation -- including LSU, Notre Dame, Cal, Florida State, Georgia, Nebraska, Tennessee and others. National recruiting analysts have considered him one of the top all-around skill position players in the Class of 2011.
  9. I watched UC early in the year and saw last nights game. After the Westview game i thought that if Speed got hurt then it would be a tough road. The first couple of games early on this year UC might not have won without Colton Speed. It seemed the offense was not clicking and he basically had to take the game into his own hands because he was that dominant of a runner on the field and he realized that no-one could stop him. Now as of late and especially after watching last night, you could have had the second string qb in and it would have been the same team. The only thing that you would have missed would be his senior leadership. This is not a knock on him at all...just a true testament of how this offense as a whole has come together. There are some serious backs that can literally run over people and are fast as well. The scary thing is this...if UC is on the ropes and Colton is on the field...then he CAN take over a game like he did at the beginning of the year. Early on...he WAS the offense. Now he is more of a trump card. Just my honest observation...
  10. "pull the rivals card"....too funny. For the record...I am not a diehard HC fan at all. Not from Paris, but did watch Teague play against Westview to see what he was all about. Best HS athlete I have seen in a while to be honest and I am the furthest from being a fan...just being honest on my observations and his stats which don't lie. (on average, one out of every 4 times he runs the ball he scores a TD...btw) To pull another "Rivals card" out, it is even more impressive that Teague has these numbers and has to share the offensive workload with Dominique Allen which Rivals states is the #5 rated fullback in the Country. A high school offense that has the #36 Best Overall Athlete in the country and the #5 Rated Fullback in the country is pretty impressive to watch IMO. Not to take anything away from other candidates as they are deserving as well I am sure. Just wanted this in the limelight on how good this guy is and the national attention these two are receiving.
  11. Thru all the numbers that you will see on this thread, one that is hidden but tells a lot is that Marsalis Teague is averaging close to 16 yards per carry with 894 yards rushing. Simply when he has the ball he goes straight to the end zone. Coupled with the fact that Henry County??™s offense is averaging 47 pts per game and he has not played at all in many 2nd halves all year. There is a reason that schools like Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Michigan, Miami & Clemson are hard after this kid and are regular visitors to Henry County. He is also the #36 ranked athlete in the country accordingly to Rivals. I am not from Henry County but this kid is special for sure.
  12. It is not clear in ANY of the pictures of where the ref's right hand was, (which is the hand that threw the flag). All of these pictures were taken after the fact of when the holding actually took place. It is also interesting to note that there is not an earlier image shown of when the actual holding was. I remember it like it was yesterday. The rebel player had his whole arm around the neck of the UC tackler. It was as obvious as anyone could see. I thought the runner was going to be stopped around the 4 yard line because of the fast approaching UC defender, then the McKenzie player wrapped his forearm completely around the neck of the UC player when he was beat. With a photography background, one thing that I know for sure is the columnist is trying to pull the wool over peoples eyes with his photos. He tries to portray that this happened over an elapsed time of several seconds and that it was a late flag because McKenzie scored. The reality is, that with a modern digital camera he is and probably was shooting roughly 4-5 frames per second. With a Canon 10 and 20D you can shot upwards to 8-10 frames per second. To further prove this, look at every photo he submitted and notice the yardage that the runner ran. It is around 1.5 yards at best!! If there was a clear picture of the ref in EVERY photo, you would see him actually trying to get his flag out of his pocket. In these you simply cannot see his right hand at all which kills the writers point of view. If he would show, or if he had a previous photo taken a half-second earlier then you would see the holding. More evident is the old saying "the guilty dog barks the loudest" in that the rebel player threw his hands up saying "no, not me"?? This whole deal of "should of" & "could-of" is borderline laughable. Here's another what-if that was never mentioned: What if Colton Speed did not slip and fall own his own at the 12 yard line when he had a wide open shot at the end zone?? Then the score would have been 28-0. As P&G stated, i'll give you the pass interference call all day long. That was a missed one no doubt. But the holding calls were legit from my vantage point as I saw everyone of them. Don't you think that it is ironic that a big gain was called back due to a holding penalty?? This is not a conspiracy against McKenzie /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> , just the fact that the runner would have been tackled at the line of scrimmage if the holding wasn't going on in the first place. Make sense??
  13. Good point. After watching both, MJ is no question the better player to come out of UC. Just like Marquis, he was not looked at strongly as well IMO. No disrespect to Marquis, but MJ is a much, much better ball handler and floor leader. Not even in the same league if you ask me. Now about true shooting, I would say Quis is a tad better. When he is on, man he is on. Marquis went on to be the OVC freshman of the year averaging 17pts per game (& ranked 4th overall in OVC scoring BTW) all the while having to play bridesmaid behind one of the country's top scorers and future pro Lester Hudson. If you were to compare the two on that fact alone of having played together on the same team, then yes, I can see MJ walking on at UT and having a future ahead of him, no doubt. The last 3 Mr Basketballs in single A came out of UC. Marquis won one. MJ won two. Marquis won 1 state title. MJ won 2. MJ lead his team to an undefeated record his senor season. Marquis' senior year at the state tournament MJ really shined even though he was only a sophomore. He may have a better "fit" to play automatically at western as Yankees says, but playing in the SEC is not impossible at all as some make it out to believe.
