96.5 carried every girls game during state last week, so I figured they would carry all of the guys. Also, 1190 AM (Home of the Vikings) will be there. The guy who does the broadcasting on 1190 makes you feel as though you are AT the game and also argues with the referees about their calls. He does a very good job.

You have a lot of good points again. Just throwing out some facts, but out of 33 games, Humboldt's defense has allowed only 49 points per game and our offense has averaged 84 points per game.

To be honest, it would NOT surprise me if they put Buckner on Tevin just to see what would happen. Supposedly Buckner has gotten more athletic since last year I saw him, so I'm sure that their coach would try it.

WhoA!!! sorry vandy! Ok...they were leading Eagleville by 16 going into the 4th quarter! So instead of Temple winning by 20, they'll win by 14! I'm glad you're not a scientist though because your theory is wrong, for me anyway. I really think this will make both teams play even harder! First round, best two Single A teams in the state, win or go home empty handed. That makes this game even better! I couldn't see Grace or Temple upsetting Manassas anyway. I got the matchup I wanted! Humboldt vs. Manassas! Just wasn't expecting it to happen in the first round, simply because I thought that they would just put us on opposite side of the brackets. I wasn't exactly for sure how the drawing actually goes anyway. Go Humboldt!!!

I agree. How do you think Manassas will play us? I figured they would play us in a 2-3 and make us hit the 3's, which is probably how we are going to play them too. Also, if they do play us in a 2-3, we're going to need Tevin or Charles to flash at the free-throw line and get the ball to draw out Buckner. If he doesn't come out then go ahead and take the shot from there. If he pops out on you, then feed it to the backdoor cutter and SLAM it home!

lol! nah! Summertown won't give them a game! They only beat Eagleville by 10! They do have a cakewalk though, dlo was at the drawing and he text me right when they drew the manassas and humboldt first. He said the entire crowd there was whispering and talking about it. The draw is VERY random (obviously) and they should do it by their seeding in the State Rankings. We can complain about it all day long, but they're not going to change it so I'm not even going to try. retirement or a 3 year break? lol!!

lol! Well considering that Forrest isn't 7'1" 300+ lbs., it's kinda hard to compare these two. Now, you haven't seen this 6'9" kid play from Grace, so you don't know what he can do. I know he didn't accept an offer from a major D-1 school, but he IS going to play SOMEWHERE in college so that has to mean he can play. I will go ahead and say that Buckner is better than him simply because I know what type of size and athleticism he has, but having someone his own size down low could get him in foul trouble. Yet, I could be wrong and Buckner could dominate this kid. You just never know what to expect.

If so, is it true that you have a 6'9" kid over there? If so, it would be very interesting to see yall match up with Manassas because it would be a treat to see him and Buckner go at it down low. Plus, I haven't seen Buckner play anyone that is his own size so it would give me a better view on how he will do next year at Ole Miss. Good luck to yall though!

I don't think we'll play man against them. I would come out in zone first and make them shoot the 3 and see how consistent they are from out there. We may end up playing man after that though if the 3's are falling. Anybody know what Temple has other than Sexton?

We don't have the best guard in the state. We don't have the best guard in our District. We don't have the best guard that is going to be at state. But I will GUARANTEE you that WE WILL get the ball down the court against a press (especially Manassas's). It is high school basketball. Please point out a high school team to me who has not turned the ball over all year. You will NOT find one. This is West Tennessee where our offense is surrounded mainly around the run and gun and our defense is mainly the press. With this, turnovers are bound to happen.

btw...when is the drawing for seeding??

I'm just trying to get a mental picture of this bigster. Did yall play zone or man with them? I read in some posts that Manassas played man against yall, but wasn't sure what LC played. You said Buckner was at the top majority of the game, so were most of his rebounds on the defensive end? I really hope that they would play man against us if we meet up because whoever he guards will stay out around the key so our other 2 bigs can get to the hole and not worry about him blocking their shot.

Nope, o well. IF we win state, then it will prove that we do not need a Mr. Basketball Finalist, even though 1 or 2 should be up for it. Buckner is going to win it anyway, so it doesn't matter.

Ha, yea I was one of the wishful ones, although LC did go down there and play with Manassas for 3 quarters, but the 2nd quarter is what killed LC in the game (being outscore by 9 [17-8]). I trust bigster's assessment of both teams, so hopefully he's right.

I'll say congrats to LC on a great season and Congrats to Manassas on moving on. The 2nd quarter killed LC, but they didn't go in there and get blown out of the gym.
