Rookie, I am just trying to say that I think ref's are paid pretty well. There are not many fun, part-time jobs paying that well, are there? I have just read on several threads that refs are so underpaid. I honestly do not feel that they are underpaid. Just my opinion! Thank you.

I bet alot of people would like to earn $10.00 an hour. Say you travel maybe one hour each way. That's two hours. Most times the games take no longer than 3 to 3 1/2 hours. That's only 5 1/2 hours. So, you divide 65 by 5.5 (oh heck, let's just say 6 hours for good measure). So, $65 divided by 6 hours is $ 10.83 cents an hour. Wow, not many factory workers make that much per hour. Plus, there are breaks for time-outs, half-time breaks, between games. Then lots of times they get free drinks from the concession stand. And, when a couple of my friends used to referree, they never paid income tax on that money. If a couple of refs ride together, they can split the gas ($5.00 each at the most.) So, all in all, are referees really so underpaid ?!!! What does everyone else think???

I find it extremely hard to say the game was officiated "not bad" when the fouls were so lopsided. I guess you don't know, MBball20, that VB shot 55 foul shots and CC only shot 25. Did you know that? I agree that CC did not play their best game ever. It seems that VB always has a good game against Celina. It is really hard to explain the lack of "no calls" against VB. The "intentional foul" called against Eric Stafford was a good defensive block. On Celina's very next possession, a VB defender did the same exact thing and guess what - NO CALL!!!!! That happened too many times to mention. Y'all just got lucky with Nichols calling under CC's basket. The fouls on VB were not called like they were on the other end by the other refs. For some reason, he just couldn't see them. Anyway - Good game VB, can't wait to play y'all again !!

The game was played at Friendship. Chase Stephens led the Bulldogs scoring with 32 points. That's all I know.

Clay County won - I believe the score was 67-57. Not positive though.

The game is Friday (Dec. 5th).

The old gym at Celina burned coal as a heating agent. I remember watching games and the gym fill up with smoke. The uniforms have a "aroma" to them that will not come out. My son plays Jr. High at Celina and wears hand-me-downs from CHS. His uniforms have that smell. I have talked with a coach from Celina and he told me that when he blew his nose (after practicing several hours) it would be black. The floor was good, but everything else in the gym lacked something to be desired. So proud for Celina- new school and gym. Good luck Lady Bulldogs! Have a great season!!

RBS boys finished 3rd and Celina Jr. High boys finished fourth.

DaCoach, I'm willing to bet Bulldog0 was not born or maybe a baby back then in the mid 80s (only because I know who he is). I totally agree with your statement regarding Bolton. We had a great team back then with tons of talent. What a great time we had going to the games and being a part of the best student cheering section ever !!!!!

Hold your heads high!!!! What a wonderful season you group of boys accomplished. I am so proud to be a fan of CHS. Thank you so much for the excitement of the season. You guys played your hearts out each and every time you took the court. You put in countless hours of practice to improve your game. I'm sure all the CHS fans are as grateful as I am for your hard work and dedication!!!! What a great season Dawgs!!! Chad, you are a great team leader and we will definitely miss that next year. Your love of basketball is evident in the amount of effort put forth in each game. Tony, you have really stepped up to be a real team player this year. I am so happy for you to have earned a starting position this year. You hit key shots and pulled down rebounds when we needed them. Matt, you sure played great on senior night, as well as in the other games you played. You came into games and played hard - making shots and getting rebounds. We went further than anyone expected us to. I am overwhelmed with great feelings of pride for the Bulldog players, for Coach Edwards and for the families of those involved in CHS Bulldog basketball. RBSdawgs, do your parents know you are on here showing disrespect and poor sportmanship? I assume you must be a student because of the way you are acting. If you want to be considered classy, you need to act that way!!!! I understand that you think that Coach Owens is a good coach, and that is your right. But the coaches of the district had the right to vote for whomever they thought was the best. Apparently, they disagreed with you and all of your RBS fans.
