Not all colleges honor injuries. They can revoke a scholarship for any given reason at any time. Its a crappy thing because they pretty much do it outta nowhere but there isn't a thing that anyone can do.

Who all from perry county is hitting the ball? I imagine the Mercer kid is prolly the best hitter but who else

Mercer is the heart and soul of that Perry County lineup...Is he hitting in the middle of the order now that McCaig and Evans are gone?

Summertown seems to be in full force again and looks like they are picking up right where they left off last year. 1-9 they are the strongest team in the district. Its all dependent on their pitching.

Who's throwing for both teams and are they playing a DH now that yesterdays game was cancelled?

Summertown had a few kids on their team that were no doubt better than 95% of the players we faced this year. KJ Roberts, Clint Gobbell, Logan Harville, Caleb Pitts can flat out throw a ball game and Blake Phillips is gonna be a force to be reckoned with in the future.

Why do Mitchell and Westwood even have Baseball programs if their teams go day in and day out and lose by double digits? Does anyone know who won all-district?

I think it'll be Riverside or Friendship playing the Big Blue of Summertown for the Championship on Friday. One thru nine I don't think there is anyone who is better than Summertown. And they have a couple kids who can absolutely fly around the diamond and they can hit like none other. The Gobbell kid might just be the best player in Single A baseball. They've also got some kids who can pitch. This team is no doubt coached better than a good 95% of the teams in the state, as well as they are very experienced with this being their third trip in four years and just missed an opportunity in 2007. This squad is loaded with talent. Although everyone looks at the two losses to Mt. Pleasant in the District Tournament, people tend to forget that same Mt. Pleasant team upset Cascade at their own tournament 5-2. This Eagles squad has a lot of poise and a great demeanor to them from the time they step on the field to the last out. Almost the same can be said about Riverside. They play in more than likely the best/toughest District in Single A Baseball and they ran the table other than two losses. One thru nine they are extremely solid at the plate and defensively. The Gant kid is no doubt one of the best young players at any HS level in the state. He's just as good if not better than his brother was as a senior right now! This team is extremely well coached as well as they are very young and loaded with talent. If not this year, than watch for this team to be back in the very near future!

Their in the same part of the bracket so if they win their first game they play one another in the second round.

It was a great game on both teams part! Had some controversy during Pitts at bat. Don't know what happened there anyone got any insight?

I was just saying if Horne's on there isn't many teams who can contend. Not saying that Cornersville isn't one of them but you never know. All I wanna see is a well contested close ball game!

Who wins this huge Single A showdown at Summertown??? You know the Lady Eagles will come out firing on all cylinders especially with the fact that if they win it will be career win #600 for Coach Wyrick. If the Lady Eagles play to their full ability I believe that they will win. Especially with Tasha Horne on the mound there's not many teams who have really battled for seven innings. It'll no doubt be the game to watch tonight!

Richland made an unbelievable comeback last night. It sounds like that was the game to be at!

I think the CA MTP game will be a great game and the Summertown game has a chance to be closer than everyone thinks. Who pitched for Summertown is the District Championship?

It'll be interesting to see what Summertown does from here on out. As well as Mt. Pleasant. They have now beat the #1 and #2 ranked teams in Class A. If they lose in the District Championship they'll most likely be playing CA who is a pretty good team especially when Workman's on the mound and he has his full arsenal.
