  1. First off congradulations to FHS they played a great game. That Rebal deffense was 10 times better than I though they would be, I had heard they were good but I didnt think they were that good. Now as for Ryan....not the game im sure anyone on that team wanted. Things just didn't go the Irish's way. Turnover after turnover kept giving away good field position. The defense seemed a little out of it in the begining of the game giving up 2 early TD's and a Field Goal at the end of the first half. They played much better the second half forcing the rebals to punt numerous times and causing some turnovers to give the Offense a shot. The offense never got things clicking and things went from bad to wrose when Ryan Blair got hurt, which if any one knows his condtion please tell me I heard he was taken to the ER. The O-Line just seemed overwhelmed and couldnt get a good block on anyone cause numerous sacks. Every team has atleast one very bad game a year, lets hope for the Irish that this is there only one. I have complete faith in Coach Lussier and Coach McPhail will get them back on track and get the teams head streight for next week. Good luck in the rest of your season FHS, you guys have shown a lot of promise over the past couple of weeks and it looks like you guys could put it all together and take it all. Go Irish!
  2. I think one of the things that is being over shadowed in the game is Father Ryan's Deffense, yes Franklins is good but Father Ryan's is just as good if not better. Lussier really turned around the D when coach Mac came on and took over the offense, and I would like to take time out to give MAJOR KUDOS to Coach Mac he has turned around this offense quicker than I thought and really developed Ryan Blair into a great QB in a short amount of time. So now back to the game: So its going to be a show down of two great deffenses and it will come down to which offense can break through and from what I have heard and what I saw from the Ravenwood vs Franklin game on Ch. 3 I have to go with Ryans offense. They are comming into this game HOT and seem to be able to move the ball against almost anyone, sorry FHS but I think CBHS's D is a little better. If they just play as sloid as they have been playing and the Deffense continues to improve then Ryan should take this one almost as easily as they did last week. Should be a great game and im expecting that the crowed will be great. Even though it is a "Home Game" at Franklin, expect the "Purple Pride" to be out in full force along with all of the other Irish fans.
  3. Well incase you have not heard what Father Ryan's D has done this year lets see...Last week they shut down the runner up in DIIAAA, the week before (and sorry to bring this up JPII Fan ) They shut down, in a way ( -13 rushing yards in the second half rushing, the best player in the state Golden Tate, and then the week before that in a scrimage they to beat Ravenwood, exept when they beat them they had their normal starting QB Becker.... Just thought I would fill ya in
  4. its going to be a match up of 2 very good defenses. The Ryan secondary will have its hands full with Todd Cambell and Franklin will have to try to contain the strong rushing attack that Father Ryan has developed. But if the Irish can play as they did last week or even the week before against JPII they should walk away with a W. my pick...Ryan by 10 and remains undefeated against 5A teams
  5. They key for Father Ryan in this game will be shutting down Tod Cambell, If they are not carefully he will make big play after big play, those CBs and Safteys are going to have to be on their toes all night.
  6. Is Becker hurt? I didnt see any stats from him from lastnights game.
  7. Father Ryan last night reminded me A LOT of the 1997 team. They just grinded it out and kept pounding it away and wore down CBHS. They also showed something that us Father Ryan fans have not seen in a while which was a well balanced passing attack. I have to give big ups to the O-Line, they were busting some HUGE wholes for those running backs and gave Blair enough protection to read the play and pick the right WR. The Defense steped up big and forced numerous 3rd and longs. The big boys up front on the D side got in and cause a lot of havoc in the back field forcing some bad throws. Good luck next week Irish, keep fighting we are all behind you!
  8. Yes Father Ryan did beat FHS last year for coach L's first win as a Fightin Irish. Because of that HUGE upset last year you know FHS will come out looking for some revenge. They have a very talented WR that will challenge the Irish D on every play. BUT if that D can play as well as they have the past two weeks and the offense plays like they did tonight then I think its safe to say that next week we will be talking about the Irish being 3-0
  9. Heard the bad knews about David today, torn ACL and MCL. Poor kid, your heart just has to break when that happens to a senior.
  10. I know they have a very talented LB/TE, besides him who are their big players?
  11. Who walks away with the W and makes the first step to the playoffs?
  12. Sounds like a great win for MBA congrats! How did the 3 RB's do? and what is the word on David's injury?
  13. Saw on ESPN today where they had Golden Tate ranked number 16 out of the top 150 prospects in the nation....very impressive.
  14. Ill try to get this back on topic: GREAT game by both teams, what a way to start off the season. Golden stept up for JPII but there is only so much one guy can do. The D you could tell really prided themselves on shuting golden down and did that very well in the second half. I think I saw that Golden had like -13 rushing yards? They did a great job of containing the outside and making him cut it back inside where those big LB's cleaned up. That D though really got the team going and came up big when they needed them. The one thing that showed how much that team has improved over the past year was how when Golden broke his plays they didnt get down, they continued to pick eachother up and fight together. On the other side of the ball now. Ryan Blair led that offense in a way we havent seen around here in a long time. Those big guys up front handled their blocks very well and opened up some big holes for the running backs. All of the Father Ryan running backs just pounded it out for nice gains every play to put together long drives, which was their problem last week. The player of the game has to go to AB though. He played his heart out and gave everything he had. Very impressive game on both sides of the ball. 2 rushing TD's and some big tackles. Next up for Father Ryan is Christian Brothers. GO IRISH!
  15. Im not so sure if it would be Wesley. Last year i saw him in the Father Ryan vs JPII JV game and he was not that impressive. So unless he has made a LARGE improvement in the offseason I would still say that his brother is more of a threat.
  16. Scrimage or game...the team that scores the most points WIN.... most teams do count scrimages as wins a losses, now thats not saying they put it on their actualy record. Think of it as the pros in the pre season...they all have their pre season record. This win made father ryans pre season record 2-1 and now everyone is back to 0-0
  17. Father Ryan did win 15-10. I was able to watch all 4 of Tates TD's in their week 0 game. On all of them it looked like the defense just kind of let him go and didnt really try to get any good hits on him. They just kinda let him run by. Father Ryans D im sure will make those TD's a little harder come Friday. Now sure Tate will have a couple of big playes no way around it. Now on the other side of the ball. That 2 minute drill the Irish ran to win the Ravenwood scrimage was VERY impressive. If they can play like that for the whole game they will put themselves in a very good position to win. The one thing I notice, as well as everyone else in the stans, was how big of holes the O-Line was making. If they can make those wholes everyplay it will give those Ryan running backs a lot of room to run, and as they showed on Friday all they need is a little room to turn a big play. The Irish will also need to get the passing game more involved. They have a couple of good WR who can make plays when given the chance. No doubt this will be a hard game for Father Ryan. JPII is a good team with a lot of talent. This years game will come down to who wants it more. Last year JPII wanted it more, all it took was a return from Tate in the 2nd half to take the life out of the Irish. look forward to a GREAT game GO IRISH
  18. What a game. Father Ryan was down with under 2 minutes to go and put together a great drive and won it. The defense played VERY good. They gave up one big drive but that was about it. The offense seemed a little off until the last 2 min. But when they finaly put everything together they looked VERY good.
  19. Yes its at Ravenwood, sorry forgot to put that in.
  20. The JV teams will play a half before the varsity plays. I think that starts around 5:30-6? Varsity to follow, I was told they think they may start around 7. They will play a full game and im sure there will be a big crowd so get there early.
  21. Can we talk about the game for once?
  22. Im not sure what Ravenwood has left from last year...but if that Irish D can play like they did last week I think They have a VERY good shot at a win and some BIG momentum going into next weeks show down.
