  1. i do not see the big fuss about CBHS's arrogance, they deserve to be arrogant. They work harder then any other high school team i have ever seen and before last night were running a perfect season. They outplayed BGA all game and i daresay they deserved that match. like i said though, teams have to score.
  2. i disagree, look at Bearden, they had to learn how to 'mesh' this year and they did so by playing hard games and learning as they went. Playing a harer schedule for a new team is essential because it makes them work hard consistently and forces them to make runs or to pass. Playing a weak schedule for a fresh team is hurtful because the team will get used to playing at a lower level and never realizing how they have to play when they hit the 'big boys' I think Brentwood should puh for a hard schedule next season and see how they turn out.
  3. lets face it, a hard schedule for a good team is ALWAYS beneficial. It did not seem as if Brentwood could play at such a fast pace, they lost alot of 50/50 balls probably because they have never really had to work for them consistently like other teams. Not only does it help teams it helps individual players to get used to playing at a fast level and exerting every thing in the game.
  4. the linesman on the end side, (the one with a little hair) the linesman not close to the concessions and pavilion part, the guy on the other side. He did a terrific job. i was sitting with the fans, i just love fans, They were yelling at the linesman to ref loosely saying things like "let us play" and "could you call it any tighter?" and then when the ref starts letting things go they yell "come on ref that was a foul" and the such. I love the double standard and the pressure put on refs it has got to be hard in a state final. but anyway overall i thought the center was a little card happy.
  5. yes, but Bearden had more of the short spurts than H'ville had the long possessions evening it out.
  6. In the CBHS vs. BGA game that number 9 for BGA, the big defender, had a great game and saved BGA alot thoughout the game. and for CBHS number 12 played amazingly, he has the hardest rip i have ever seen. for Bearden every one had a big game. Tom Webster had a great game along with Brian Walker (who only let one goal in without including pk's).
  7. looking back, i saw both teams play a pretty direct style last night, Bearden leaves the outsides open, so in the beginning H'ville played it outside and ended with a cross in. Bearden too plays it outside (but in long ball form) to Tom who plays it in. I guess it would look like H'ville had more possession because it takes them longer to play it in. In the second half H'ville played alot faster. Bearden had more possessions just at shorter lengths each time because they are a long ball team. i hope i got my point across and didn't ramble too much.
  8. i believe you were watching a different game then i did because over all the possession was about even, and both teams had their opportunities and the ref definitely missed a pk call for Hendersonville because the Bearden defender fouled one of Hville's forwards badly in the first minutes of the game. Both teams played with great intensity i don't think one team deserved it more in this game.
  9. oh yes of course i am proud, i got runner up in state with Oak Ridge, and when i saw my little brother after the game, the first thing he said was "haha, i beat you" man, he is going to hold it over my head for many years. Ya i was standing there with Kagen Anderson, and Preston just thinking about would could have been but i am happy to see them take it home this year congrats to CAK as well. (i hear rumors of Brandon Tarr returning is this true?)
  10. umm. this game was kinda wierd, no real advantage anywhere the whole game, Hendersonville had a few good looks and Bearden had a few good looks. Tom Webster played absolutely incredible, placing balls from the goal line to oncoming forwards. Brian Walker showed up big with his save in the pk shoot out, another Hendersonville player hit the cross bar, and all four Bearden boys scored in a row: Ryan Radcliffe, Jay Lutz, Rico, and Tom Webster. Congrats Bearden and good luck next year (better watch out for Farragut for they are ready next year) or so says Farragut's coach.
  11. one of the best games i have ever watched, but i was disappointed to see CBHS lose. I know they are arrogant, but they really hustled and ran for every second of the game, their conditioning is absolutely insane, and their first touch is perfect. I was rooting for the brothers to have a perfect season. Congrats to BGA, but CBHS really had the upper hand for most of the play, but could not connect like they usually do.
  12. i believe that Bearden's outside defenders should push up more. they should play with 3 center mids and 4 defenders, the outside defenders should make runs and push up on the opposing outside mids, but they do not so this
  13. i can see an offside trap working on a corner, especially off that particular play, but I was at the game and they called offsides very little throughout the game.
  14. i agree that that ref was terrible, he called the ball out of bounds, in the first half, that was clearly on the line and could be clearly seen as such. That bad call resulted in your guys' throw in in which the upcoming play afterwards resulted in your guys' goal. well, i do not know what happened in that first goal, but i know it was crazy and a fluke.
  15. i would have never guessed you all had 7 seniors. are you kidding? you all played great, but Bearden had tons upon tons of chances that should have been goals, a ball stopping on your goal line, balls being played across your six with no forward there to pick it up. It just goes to show that forwards need to make their runs *hint hint Bearden* I definitely would not say you all 'tooled' anyone. and after a while you all pushed 6 defenders back, and that is when Bearden started possessing a little.
  16. umm... offside trap will not work at all against Bearden, if anything it would be worse because: 1) refs will miss a call (offsides call) 2) if Rico does get by he is pretty fast and finishes quite well 3) they play long ball, they won't have time to push up for the trap 4) once Bearden sees the trap there forwards will just lay off just a tad, negating the trap. and besides this weekend has proven that Rico is not the only scorer. I agree that Hendersonville's goal keeper is very good and will be hard to score on. 5 or 6 guys off every time? considering they have 3 forwards? not 5 or 6.
  17. i thought halls should be in the finals, but they just couldn't cut it. but seriously this is what i posted earlier about when i am a coach, i am going to teach my 'kids' to score first, and then teach defense. it is easier to defend then to score; therefore, teasm nee to emphasize putting the ball in the back of the net, Bearden was almost sent home last night because they could not capitalize on their opportunities.
  18. oh my! how did i forget Bearden's keeper Brian Walker, he has played amazingly and is on fire right now.
  19. well, this is the game of all games. Bearden needs to play with everything and get re-fired up. It is funny about these two teams this year because both of them were being watched as big teams in the beginning, and then mid season the teams were kinda looked at as if they might not even make state. Then regionals and the such pushed them as top teams again, and now they are in the finals, this is great. my i rambled, I'm going to say Bearden pulls this out, Bearden 3 Hendersonville 2 in overtime, (i am going with soccer is life) oh yes, the Bearden fans are awesome
  20. Bearden definitely dosged a bullet here, they did pnot play very well until the last 15 minutes of regulation and then overtime. Ridgeway had a few great chances to put us away, but Bearden had their great chances as well, with balls STOPPING on the ridgeway's goal line and no one tapping it in. Ridgeway props to you all for your hustle, you guys are quick and left it all on the field.
  21. Ridgeway #7 for sure, he played great against Bearden. Bearden #11 Tom Webster has had a great tournament so far, and i hope he plays well in the finals. well i do not know his number (i think it is 26) for Bearden is Phil Andrae, he is a great defender and distributer, he is also our school's valedictorian.
  22. they played well, i had never even heard of them but i will keep up with them next year. They looked pretty young, how many seniors are they going to lose?
  23. truly, i don't see it happening either, but i want it too. i am actually leaving right now to watch it.
  24. what was that Patrick? i didn't hear you the first time. hahaha sorry i just couldn't control myself but yeah, everyone has a chance to beat anyone. I don't think that they will, but i think it can happen. my prediction is Catholic 2 dyersburg 0.
